Salina KOA

Salina, Kansas

Date of Stay:

Not sure on the price but it was around $31. The site was OK with some sun. We arrived early in the afternoon with the temperature around 93 and a heat advisory in effect. As the park started filling around 5:30 pm we had our first power failure. The camper next ours immediately went to the office and was told they would check on it. The power came back on a few minutes later. Someone from the office came by and said they had someone on the way to check it out but I never heard back from them. The park was full that night and we had several more brief outages. This didn't make for a very pleasant night with temperatures this hot. I don't know if everyone was impacted or just those around on our row. It is an older park and I don't know if the infrastructure was over loaded or the problem was with the power company.

We stopped here for one night and we're so impressed we will definitely return for a longer stay to visit the area. We arrived just as they were closing for the evening and we're immediately escorted to our site. The interior roads are asphalt and well maintained. They sites are gravel but level with well cared for hookups. The host provided us with a 2 page handout that explains everything from the campground cable stations and wifi to the surrounding Carthage area. You can tell from the first meeting with the host and reading the handout that they understand how to run a RV park. Most of the site's are pull through and well shaded. If you plan to use a satellite be sure to request a site that has a line of site too meet your requirements.

This is a beautiful setting close to the Dale Hollow State Park Lodge and marina. Some of the vloopscare full hookups and others have water and electric only. Most sites are level and later out with 8 pads at each loop in a circular pattern. There are two playground areas and 3 restrooms with showers and laundry facilities. The lodge has a restaurant, small store at the park with limited items and there is a small convenience store a few miles away. If needed more supplies it is necessary to travel to one of the surrounding towns about 18 to 25 miles away.

This park is very short drive to the old down town and river front part of Paducah. It is also close to the National Quilt Museum. The park owners are very friendly and helpful. There is a mix of long and short term sites. Even though some of the sites are close to a major road it is very quiet and the road noise was hardly noticeable. The bathrooms, showers and laundry room were some of the cleanest we have ever seen in a RV park. Some reviewers mentioned that there is only one mens, womens and a handicapped bathroom. While true this did not result in any problems for us during our 4 night stay. We would definitely stay here again.

The park is on the banks of the Current River and offers tubing on the river. The owners are friendly and want to ensure you enjoy your stay. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintaained. The sites include both back in and pullthrough with full hookups. We were only going to stop for one night but wound up staying five nights and relaxing with the river flowing behind our site. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a good place to spend a night (or longer if you enjoy casino's & dog tracks). It is close to I-29 but we really didn't notice any traffic noise. All of the sites are back in only and the hookups are located in the center at the back of the site. You may need long electric and water hoses depending on where the hookups are on your RV. The restroom & laundry facilities were excellent. The casino has very good food and if you get a new member card there are numerous discount coupons available such as buy one breakfast and get one free. The employees at the casino were all very friendly and helpful. The BassPro store is directly across the street from the RV sites. We would definitely stay here again.

The RV spots are excellent, very level and long. It's a great place to stop for a rest along I-29. If you want to visit the restaurant or casino be prepared for very heavy cigarette smoke. The food is rather high for the quality, however the breakfast is better than the evening meals. The restaurant does not allow smoking, but there are partial glass partitions that separate it from the hall leading to the casino that let a lot of smoke into the front of the restaurant. We would stay here again as a resting place along I-29.

The park is located in a pretty location but suffers from age and poor lay out of the electric hookups(better have a long electric cord). There are a few water faucets scattered through the park. There were groups of people playing loud music and loud cars and people driving too fast through the park. The park hosts didn't seem inclined to control any of these issues. Overall I could not recommend this park even for an overnight stay.

Date of Stay:

This small park is surrounded by pine trees and is very well maintained. The hookups looked like new. The owner lives next to the park and was very friendly and helpful. There are a few year round residents and the owner indicated that may campers return on a regular basis for several months at a time. It is a beautiful setting and a very relaxing environment. Since it is small and has many long term returning customers I would recommend calling before you make the trip to the park.

Date of Stay:

This is a large park located off of I-40 on the west side of town. The access is very convenient to travelers on I-40. The sites are all concrete pads and the roads are all hard surfaced. The electric and TV hookups are on very nice pedestals and easy to access. They serve a very good breakfast and evening meals at reasonable prices. The restrooms and showers were clean and very convenient and the Wi-Fi signal was very strong. The park has many amenities but does lack shade trees. We would definitely stay there again.

This is a beautiful park located on the Chama River. The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. The campground, restrooms, showers and laundry room were immaculate. The Wi-Fi signal was strong throughout the park. The view of the mountains and river were great. This is the best managed RV park we have ever stayed in. We will certainly stay here again.

Date of Stay:

This is an older, very well managed park. The management is very friendly and helpful. When we checked in the owner directed us to our site and helped us back in, then showed us where the hookups were located and made sure we were settled in. All of the staff have been very friendly & helpful with any questions about the Santa Fe area. We originally reserved a site for 7 days and after 1 day we are considering extending out stay.

Date of Stay:

The park owners are very helpful and friendly. The sites were level and the owner directed us to our site. The park is an older park located on old Route 66 and within walking distance of Del's restaurant for dinner and Kicks 66 for an excellent breakfast. We only stayed one night but would choose this park again if we are in the Tucumcari area.
