Nice and quiet campground. Owners are very friendly and pleasant, they escorted us to our site and assisted in backing in. Mature Oaks and lots of shade. Nice gravel sites and the sites were very spacious but the sites were not very level at all, This needs to be taken care of. We woke up to deer in the campground in the morning and enjoyed the nice walking trails. The price seems just a bit high for what is offered. I'd go there more often if the price was lowered some.

Very nice state park. Nice hiking trails and bike trail that goes into Albert Lea. Staff friendly and helpful. Shower house on the island campground is in need of updating. White Fox campground bath/shower house is great. Would have given a higher rating but the roads in both campgrounds are in awful shape with potholes. Trees hanging low and need to be trimmed back. They need to realize that rigs are higher these days and people don't appreciate tearing things off the roof and scratching sidewalls. Non-campers should not be allowed to drive through the campground.

Very friendly family owned RV park. The staff is very knowledgeable of the area. Mostly gravel sites with beautiful views of the mountains that surround the little town. Sites were plenty wide/long. I think I drove up on blocks before using the leveling jacks but not unreasonable. We walked from the campground to all the area attractions including the city's hot springs. Yes there is traffic driving by now and then but you're camped in town. The convenience of being close to things far outweighed the little bit of city sounds. I will/would camp there again and in fact can't wait.

Way too expensive for what is offered. Hilly area for a R.V. park. All gravel roads that are OH so steep. Narrow sites when using slide outs.Lots of highway and train noise as the tracks are right beside the property. It was rather warm and I checked the voltage out after my A/C kicked the breaker out on my motorhome. Power was Very low. I contacted the staff, when they checked it out they agreed but what can they do. I worried about burning out my compressor on the A/C with the low voltage. I would Not camp there again.

With the campground being 100 yards away from I-80 I expected highway noise but leaving the A/C on helped that to some extent. But what I can't tolerate is to have to set up camp in mowed hayfield. They had recently mowed and there were windrows of dead grass at least 4"-6" high and smelled like old silage and looked like it was ready to be bailed. They have things called RAKES or sweepers to pull behind equipment to take care of this. I don't care if if had rained lately and made it hard to get the job done right, when you charge $39.00 a night I expect to have a manicured lawn. There were gravel pads to drive on, I'll give you that but like another poster said "Not very level". On this same trip I stayed in campgrounds for $24.00 a night and they were immaculate. Grounds, bathrooms, facilities. Do yourself a favor folks and drive by this place and to NOT patronize it. I understand it used to be a Jellystone Park but it's FAR from that now. If you want to run a proper campground you need to do more than sit behind the counter and collect $$$.

This is a great city campground with access to the city park across the river and the city pool close by. But, there is a host that is supposed to be on duty and was very rarely around. There were strange things going on all night long with traffic coming and going and I and others nearby think there were drug deals going on. There were campers in the back side of the grounds that were up all night and were available to walk out and talk with the drive through customers. If this kind of action continues it is going to ruin a very nice park so either the city of Mason City needs to get on the ball or at least the host stay on duty and report what's going on around there. There should be no reason for people driving through a family oriented campground like they did. Even through out the day there were people driving through. It should be only for registered campers past the gate. I had friends kids that camped there after us and the night got actually scary with the activities. Great campground, just be safe!
