Cactus RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a no frills rv park, exactly as their website says. They have full hookups, 30 and 50 amps and cable. Some sites have shade. There are restaurants within walking distance. We did not hear much for traffic noise and only one train off in the distance. The woman that checked us in was very nice and walked us to our site. It is not a big park but it is clean. There are no showers or restrooms and they don't have a store. I will stay here again. I encourage you to look at their web page. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Alamogordo/ White Sands KOA, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here on our way home from Deming. I had a hard time fitting my 30' fifth wheel in the site. My back bumper was nearly out into the road. There is no way this site is 30' wide like the KOA website says. The sewer does not have a threaded fitting, but they did have a few good sized rocks to hold your house in place. THERE IS NO CABLE TV! We camped at Alamogordo/ White Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

First off, I fail to understand the surpise of sites being close, it is a commercial campground and there business is to make money. It is a typical KOA, The entire area is gravel and our site needed only a 3/4" board to level side to side. The area was clean and well kept. There is what looks like a city park with a trail around the lake/pond. It is a good ways back from the main road and I did not hear any trains in the night. We did not try the OTA tv stations so we cannot comment on that. We will be coming back. We camped at Cortez / Mesa Verde KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Western Star RV Ranch, Liberal, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The whole park is gravel, looks like some kind of river stone as it is not sharp and did not bother the dogs feet. Sites were pretty level, wide and long. Wifi was free. They have a building with showers, laundry, and pool table, maybe more. As with any campground along this area there are train track a short distance away. My wife only heard 1 train but I heard several. It was quieter than I expected being during the harvest. We camped at Western Star RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park & Campground, Oxford, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Park review Nice looking park. We paid for full hookups but the self serve registration and the park map have different descriptions of which is which. The park is built on a hillside and the sites are not very level. Interior roads are poor, rutted in some places. When we found one that was close side to side, it was bad front to back. I had to use 3 inches of blocks on the back of my tow vehicle to get close to level, after trying to level at 3 other sites. No wifi in campground, maybe at the office. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Bottomless Lakes State Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Last time here they were just installing free Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi signal was good at our site. Also, last year it was tough to get a decent cell signal, but this year we had a good signal with pretty fast LTE. Good Southern exposure for satellite TV. This is a nice park, we try to get here at least once a year. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bottomless Lakes State Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We have always liked this campground as it is only a few hours away. Campground is usually neat and clean, except when the critters get into the garbage, but that is usually cleaned up quickly. Sometimes there are the "no seeums" but usually aren't a problem. There are some nice large pull through sites with trees. They now have free WiFi setup in the park, but it is slow if there is a lot of people on it. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp A Way, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

When in Lincoln we stay here. We pay extra for one of the patio sites which have a charcoal grill, table and chairs, fire ring and a swing or rocker. The Wi-Fi is good and for those with children, they have activities and several types of pedal cars for rent. We camped at Camp A Way in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites were pretty level and interior roads are gravel but good. There is a gas station and small cafe type dining area. We got food to take back to the RV and the prices were reasonable. We camped at Kellogg RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Newton KOA , Newton, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The site we had was not level. Unfortunately we were traveling through on the one weekend that night that racing was going on at the nearby track. We were lucky to get the spot as there were only 2 left. The park is near the freeway but the race cars were louder than the freeway. Quiet time starts at 10:00 pm and is "strictly enforced." Much to our amazement there were kids running around screaming at 11:00 pm. We camped at Newton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp A Way, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We usually stay at this park due to its proximity to my mother in law's home. We got a reduced rate for the off season so we took the patio site. This has a grill, fire pit, table and chairs, and even a swing. The park has quite a few year round sites with heated water supply or frost free water outlet. The dog run is nice, if there is no one there we were able to allow our dog to go off lead. Wi-Fi works well as they have a Wi-Fi antenna in the middle of the camping area. While there we had to attend a funeral, I asked for permission to leave our dog in the RV for the few hours that we were gone to the funeral. They were very understanding and made sure they had my cell phone number in case of an emergency. Our dog is usually quite quiet when in the RV alone so I thought it was not an issue but asked just to be courteous. We camped at Camp A Way in a Fifth Wheel.

Pueblo KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here on a return trip home. We had been here before. Sites were clean and level. Nice dog walk area and good gravel interior roads. One unique thing is that they will come and pick up garbage from your site. We didn't feel like cooking so we had a pizza delivered from their kitchen. It was fairly good. As with a lot of the RV parks it is close to the freeway and can be a little noisy but we leave the AC fan running and that helps a lot. Even though they have a designated dog walk area, you can walk your dogs most anywhere in the park as long as you clean up. We camped at Pueblo KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp A Way, Lincoln, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights while visiting family in the area. The park had quite a few people but not full. It is a little noisy at night but running the AC fan continuously help out with that. It was 100 degrees the day we arrived and 104 the next day. Most sites have shade which I am sure helped the AC. We had no power issues, the cable was good. I had planned on going to the pool but never made it. They have a small store in the office but it is somewhat limited in what they have. Very pet friendly. Interior roads were mixed paved and gravel. Our site was fairly level, used one board on one side. We camped at Camp A Way in a Fifth Wheel.

4 Aces RV Park, Kinsley, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here after a long days drive. Owner was real friendly and seemed more concerned that we get set up and the AC running as it was 104 degrees. We knew the cost before we got there as we had called ahead. There were a few trains but found that running the AC fan all the time it really minimizes the noise you here. There were only 3 or 4 the night we stayed. Campground was very clean and well kept. We will probably stay here again next spring when traveling through the area again. We camped at 4 Aces RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
