Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Truly a "resort" very large and busy. Sites are well spaced and everything worked well. Only gripe is that of all of the KOAs that we have stayed at: this one could have provided an escort to our site. We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Korn's Campgrounds, Middletown, New York

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Just here for one night at the end of their season, but we loved it. Pulled through back in their group area. It was great. About 10 to 15 miles off the interstate and you wonder if you are going in the right direction but well worth it. Everything worked and folks were super nice. We camped at Korn's Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, nice people. Stayed overnight and everything was fine. It's a little larger than typical KOA. Dog run was pretty small but at least they are trying. We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Chewonki Campground, Wiscasset, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely beautiful place. Folks are very nice, especially one gentleman. Great " nature walk." Peaceful and pristine. All hookups worked well and site was mostly level. Word of warning: if it has rained and you have a rig that is of any size, you may have trouble getting out of your site. Worth the worry, but be warned. We camped at Chewonki Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Timberland Acres RV Park, Trenton, Maine

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Huge ( long) site. Very nice campground. I think there were more than 2 over the air channels, but we were out a lot. Very well maintained where the campers are: just don't walk down the back road to the DUMP. Very depressing in such a beautiful place. Folks are very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay. We camped at Timberland Acres RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hickory Run State Park, White Haven, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

The thing that defines this park for us is the road from the interstate. Very bad up and down and narrow. That being said, other than the segregation of dogs, it really is not a bad park. We had no hookups and the site wasn't level but doable and the site was big. It was clean and the folks were nice. One surprise to us was NO ALCOHOL Really? After that road? We camped at Hickory Run State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a typical KOA. We were allowed to choose our site, which was roomier than expected. Level, everything worked. Nice nature trail to walk the pups on, very quiet and folks friendly. Only downside is the road in is a little scary. We camped at Charlottesville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Ocean Lakes Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Truly a resort. Everything is offered here and they seem to work hard to keep things up. That being said they do pack you in here. Be sure to check the length of your site- we couldn't have gotten in to ours without nice neighbors moving their vehicles. The golf carts seem to have toned down since our last visit, thank goodness. They also recycle which is great. Not our favorite type of campground, but the nicest one on the beach. We camped at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
