Date of Stay:

Recently my husband and I made reservations at Up the Creek for a week in the Smokies. Unfortunately it was the week that Tropical Storm Lee moved up through the exact area we would have had to drive from Texas. We were charged 50% cancellation fee the entire stay ($161.80). As an RVer you know that sometimes weather or mechanical difficulties can cause you to cancel. Please be aware that Up the Creek does not charge you just 1 day or even 2, but 50% + tax of your entire reserved stay. We were very disappointed in their rigidity under these circumstances and while we had stayed here before, we will not book again.

We were on one of the lake lots which gave us easy access for fishing, birding and just relaxing. The park is kept is very good condition, has excellent bath facilities. If you have friends without an RV who need accommodations, the Yurts are really cool. The park just recently opened and they are still in the process of putting in hiking trails. It is close to Hot Springs-the racetrack, historical Bathhouse Row and other lakes. We recommend it!
