Washoe Lake State Park, Carson City, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Nice state park campground. However, there is no shade so it would be hot in the summer months. I would stay here again in the winter. We camped at Washoe Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Furnace Creek (NPS Campground), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Perhaps the most vegetated of the campgrounds in Death Valley, but still pretty bleak with sites close together. Constant drone of generators between 7 AM and 7 PM. I would rather not stay there again. We camped at Furnace Creek (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Alabama Hills Recreation Area, Lone Pine, California

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Note, this is dispersion camping and there is no charge. Located about 2 miles west of Lone Pine off Whitney Portal Road - on both sides of the road. One of the prettiest places we have ever camped at in our travel trailer. Scenes from over 400 movies have been shot here, so you most likely have seen it. I would camp here again. We camped at Alabama Hills Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Slickrock Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Clean CG and restrooms/showers. Well located with big, mature, shade trees. However, the sites are too close for my liking and there is no grass. I would look for a different C.G. in the area next time. We camped at Slickrock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice CG. Only a short distance from Hwy. Restrooms/showers are clean, though a bit "funky." Good value for the money. Would stay here again. We camped at Earp & James Hitching Post (formerly Lottie-Dell Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Eagle Rock Campground (Forest Service), Glide, Oregon

Overall Rating:

Forest Service C.G. about 34 miles East of Glide, on Hwy 138. Along N. Umpqua river. No water available (other than river water) so bring your own. Vault toilets, no showers. Great hiking, fishing, and rafting. I would stay here again. We camped at Eagle Rock Campground (Forest Service) in a Travel Trailer.

Veteran's Memorial Park, Monterey, California

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent CG. However, check the parks website before taking a big rig up there as the parking would be tight (21' max?). Also, the road to CG is narrow and windy. I would stay here again. We camped at Veteran's Memorial Park in a Truck Camper.
