Belle Ridge Retreat, Monterey, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic new, only a year old, park. Large sites, quiet, dark, and great spacing. There were lots of ATV trails, nearby. All the interior roads are paved, with gravel sites. The sites are pretty level considering how hilly the park actually is. We did put one block under the tires on one side, but was very level front to back. The bathroom/shower house is on top of the hill and is spaced to be between the tent areas and the RV area. There are lots of tent sites, and they are back in the woods, and very private. If you tent, you will love it. And you could still have your wifi even back at the tent sites. :) The cabins looked very nice too. We camped at Belle Ridge Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park has improved tremendously since we first stayed here about 10 years ago. This a great park for an overnight stay, simply because there isn't much in the area to stay longer for. Level sites, but just barely long enough for truck and trailer. Some shade, but the electric was a little iffy, and we had to move once because the pedestal was non-functional. Bathrooms were super clean and very nice. Easy access to and from the interstate, but far enough away that there's no noise. Lots of fast food, gas/fuel stations, Walmart nearby. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Kountry Air RV Park, Prattville, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We really liked this campground. It is an older campground with fairly narrow roads, but we made it through just fine with our long bed pickup and 40' fifth wheel. We had a very long level pull through on the top of the hill. They did specify that sewer hoses had to be off the ground. Nice and dark at night except for a few people who felt compelled to leave their outside lights on, even when they weren't outside. Bathrooms were very clean although just one bathroom/shower for men, and one for women. Good laundry facilities. Very nice clean pool. The hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and gave good advice about where-to-go and what-to-do. Free movies and books to borrow. We would stay here again. We camped at Kountry Air RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Snowy Peaks RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park very nice. The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. The sites and interior roads are gravel and well maintained. The Premium pull through site that we stayed in was plenty long enough for our 40' toy hauler. The space between sites was fairly narrow with well maintained grass. The restrooms/showers are the individual type and were kept very clean. There are just 4 showers for the park but since most of the people staying here are probably self-sufficient this didn't appear to be a problem. The Wi-Fi was excellent with easy access and impressive speeds. It was not crowded when we were here so we can't speak for how it operates when the park is full. We use T-Mobile cell service and it was also excellent in this area. The restaurants we ate at were good, with a couple being outstanding. We would stay here again. We camped at Snowy Peaks RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

WaKeeney KOA, WaKeeney, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a normal KOA park: fairly small sites, but level and well maintained. The pool was nice and the showers were very clean and well kept up. There is no shade, but we were here in late September so shade is not an issue. It would be a very warm camping experience in July or August. We would stay here again. It is not a destination camp but an excellent over night stop. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
