River View RV Park & Resort, Vidalia, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Almost all sites are level concrete and pretty wide with grass spaces. Nice views of the river and river traffic. The speed bumps are definitely bumps. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bay Hide Away RV Park & Campground, Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are level and long enough for our toyhauler and truck. The sites are not very wide but are grassy. Rules seemed to be enforced on an unknown system. Mats are not supposed to be used on the grass, but two big motorhomes behind us had out their whole home furnishings on their very large mats. The pool and shower/laundry house was very clean but water pressure was only so-so. We camped at Bay Hide Away RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Honey Island Eco Tour was only about 15 miles away and was wonderful. The beach is only about 5 miles and was pretty nice, not as nice as on the gulf further east in Alabama, but nice ne'ertheless.

Bay Breeze RV On The Bay, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Obviously this is a small park, but just very very nice. Not fancy in the least, but quiet, clean, and well maintained. All the sites are back-in and you are guided by the owner, and he is as good with that as he is with everything else. One shot and done. He even carries a level and will put blocks under the wheels as needed. They have a nice dock to sit on and watch the bay, and a place for people to launch their kayaks, canoes, or the like. The restrooms/showers are super clean and since it's such a small park, they are within easy walking distance from any site. It's just a great RV park. We camped at Bay Breeze RV On The Bay in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

An excellent public beach access is about 2 miles away and is super. There were about 6 people on at least a mile of beach. And 2 of those were fishermen. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are about 6 miles away. The Naval Air Station is in Pensacola and well worth a trip.

Belle Ridge Retreat, Monterey, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic new, only a year old, park. Large sites, quiet, dark, and great spacing. There were lots of ATV trails, nearby. All the interior roads are paved, with gravel sites. The sites are pretty level considering how hilly the park actually is. We did put one block under the tires on one side, but was very level front to back. The bathroom/shower house is on top of the hill and is spaced to be between the tent areas and the RV area. There are lots of tent sites, and they are back in the woods, and very private. If you tent, you will love it. And you could still have your wifi even back at the tent sites. :) The cabins looked very nice too. We camped at Belle Ridge Retreat in a Fifth Wheel.

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park has improved tremendously since we first stayed here about 10 years ago. This a great park for an overnight stay, simply because there isn't much in the area to stay longer for. Level sites, but just barely long enough for truck and trailer. Some shade, but the electric was a little iffy, and we had to move once because the pedestal was non-functional. Bathrooms were super clean and very nice. Easy access to and from the interstate, but far enough away that there's no noise. Lots of fast food, gas/fuel stations, Walmart nearby. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Kountry Air RV Park, Prattville, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We really liked this campground. It is an older campground with fairly narrow roads, but we made it through just fine with our long bed pickup and 40' fifth wheel. We had a very long level pull through on the top of the hill. They did specify that sewer hoses had to be off the ground. Nice and dark at night except for a few people who felt compelled to leave their outside lights on, even when they weren't outside. Bathrooms were very clean although just one bathroom/shower for men, and one for women. Good laundry facilities. Very nice clean pool. The hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and gave good advice about where-to-go and what-to-do. Free movies and books to borrow. We would stay here again. We camped at Kountry Air RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Snowy Peaks RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park very nice. The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. The sites and interior roads are gravel and well maintained. The Premium pull through site that we stayed in was plenty long enough for our 40' toy hauler. The space between sites was fairly narrow with well maintained grass. The restrooms/showers are the individual type and were kept very clean. There are just 4 showers for the park but since most of the people staying here are probably self-sufficient this didn't appear to be a problem. The Wi-Fi was excellent with easy access and impressive speeds. It was not crowded when we were here so we can't speak for how it operates when the park is full. We use T-Mobile cell service and it was also excellent in this area. The restaurants we ate at were good, with a couple being outstanding. We would stay here again. We camped at Snowy Peaks RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

WaKeeney KOA, WaKeeney, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a normal KOA park: fairly small sites, but level and well maintained. The pool was nice and the showers were very clean and well kept up. There is no shade, but we were here in late September so shade is not an issue. It would be a very warm camping experience in July or August. We would stay here again. It is not a destination camp but an excellent over night stop. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
