Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are gravel with a paved patio. We were at the back end of the park, furthest from the office. We valued the shade we had. We were right next to the dog walking area so met some dogs and their owners. Used the laundry - odd set up - you can access 2 washers & dryers in the ladies washroom and one in the men's. I had three loads so husband put one in the men's washroom. Had great wifi on day one and day five but none in between as it was broken. It was known prior to the weekend that it wasn't working but it wasn't fixed until the Tuesday. My "Service" assessment of only being satisfactory has only to do with this aspect. If the IT guy was "too busy" maybe you need another IT guy. We are pretty dependent on wifi to stay connected so this was a disappointment. Staff in the office are exemplary - very friendly and helpful. The maintenance fellow also very nice - he did what he could on the wifi. Loved the garbage pick up system - each site has its own garbage can. I would stay again but the park needs to understand how travellers these days depend on their internet! We camped at Los Suenos de Santa Fe RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The Canyon Motel & RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This RV Park had one feature that was absolutely essential to us - they had availability. There were very few places we could reserve at due to this being a high season here. I think this park has potential - but they have some work to do. The sites need to be levelled, including the "grassy" areas which are bumpy and virtually non-usable the way they are. Plant a few trees. Get rid of the painted spool tables wherever you have a decent picnic table and it appeared that there were good ones at most sites. I agree with the reviewers who don't like the "rules" focus - I think it is important to set rules but they are all worded in the most arbitrary fashion you could think of. Have someone rewrite them to get the behaviour you want but not appear as "Gestapo-like". Great check in service. With these few changes I think this could be a very desirable park. We camped at The Canyon Motel & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Goulding's Lodge & Campground, Oljato-Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We had a confirmed reservation for a site for two nights. When we arrived, we were told there was no site for us and we were offered dry camping. No apology and no explanation. We were asked to go down the hill to Wayne's World. Couldn't find it and when we called for additional information, they told us to come back. We pushed it a little as we were ticked that they weren't living up to their commitment. We get that mistakes happen. If they had apologized and offered one free night of dry camping, we would have felt better about the whole thing. Anyway, they eventually found us a site with full hook ups but I worried that the "no room at the inn" would just happen to the next person arriving with a "confirmed reservation". They charged us more than the confirmed rate we had received rather than honouring the original rate. Nice park though - clean and quiet. We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Not sure if you need to call the day you are arriving to ensure that your reservation still stands. The campground uses an on-line reservation system. If it is broken, I hope they fix it.

Salish Seaside RV Haven (formerly Westbay Marine Village RV Park) , Victoria, British Columbia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed for four nights to play like tourists in the Victoria area. Unfortunately, while we were "on the water" it was overlooking the boat houses, not the harbour. Pretty boring back there when we like watching the harbour activity. Great location in that you can catch the water taxi into downtown or you can access a good walking path into the downtown if you prefer to walk. We camped at Salish Seaside RV Haven (formerly Westbay Marine Village RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Suggest you try really hard to get a spot overlooking the harbour if you are spending any time in the RV park and not touring around. Lots to do in Victoria and surrounding areas.
