Raton KOA

Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay:

Nice basic park in middle of town. Have stayed here several times. Easy to get to other things in town from here. Would stay here again if in the area.

Date of Stay:

Park not as scary as it looks from the road. Lots of rules and regulations, which is great, as they are enforced. Seems a little tight to maneuver in this park but did OK. Very quiet at night. Lots and lots of permanent residents.

Date of Stay:

Nice feel to this park. Not so commercial. Quiet too, even though I-25 not that far away. Will stay here again if in the area. Can get about 10 over the air TV channels. Sites slightly sloped but level side to side.

Date of Stay:

If you like barking dogs, this is the place. Stayed twelve days and had to be moved to another spot to get some peace. Dogs in cages outside and tied to RVs unsupervised night and day. Lots of extended stay patrons in rickety equipment. Stayed here in 2012 and did not have this trouble. Place had gone downhill. Pool was too cold for anythings but kids. Hard to maneuver in park do to large number of vehicles that each patron seemed to have. Staff was very friendly, however. Just did not seem to want to enforce the rules.

Date of Stay:

Good clean park. Wide level sites that are easy in and out. Nice store/office. Pool is actually warm. Have on site food shack and covered pavilion area. Some railroad noise and is close to small airport, but the planes don't seem to fly at night. Gives discount for vets and active duty stay free. Close to fuel and food.

Date of Stay:

You get the noise trifecta here. Army base night fire, BNSF railroad and I-25 freeway. Way too many extended stay sites for a KOA; some RVs not in good shape. Laundry room on our end had 4 washers and 4 dryers, one of which was out of order. Not enough laundry equipment for number of people in park. Sites are level and easy to get in and out of. Rate fairly steep. The reasons I stay at KOAs no longer exist. I can get this kind of park for way less $$.

Date of Stay:

Nice clean, secure park. Quite a bit of railroad noise, but earplugs fixed that. 15 or so over the air TV stations from Phoenix. Vehicle fuel on site and nice store. Sites nice and level.

Great park for the money. Nice wide level sites (gravel) and park looks well maintained. Close to road but not much traffic at night. 50 amp at each site. No TV of any kind unless you bring your dish. Cell phone reception good. Owner friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

A gem in the middle of the desert. All the positive stuff below is true. Park was almost full when we arrived so our spot was gravel (#52)and no cable at the site. Had all else including 50 amp. About 12 over the air TV stations from Reno, so did not suffer too bad. Propane sales on site and close to Safeway and food. Best park out there for $23 bucks a night.

Date of Stay:

Nice park. Rustic without being a dump. No cell service. Wi-Fi is through Tengo and is $2 a day. Easy to maneuver and we have a 40ft RV. We stayed in a long pull through site that was pretty much level. Fuel is about 15 miles away in Old Station. I like this place.

This is an OK park. Could use some more maneuvering room and wider spaces. My space was paved, as are the interior roads. Cell reception really bad. Wi-Fi good. Lots and lots of permanent residents. Pool looked good, although did not use it. I have a 40ft rig and it is tight in here, but jockey in OK. Entrance road is one lane so hope you don't meet someone coming or going. One lane interior roads, as well. Price a little high I thought for a park of this quality, and $38 was with Good Sam discount (supposedly). Have stayed here before and will probably stay here again.

Date of Stay:

Good clean park. Concrete pull through pads are mostly level. Paved access roads. No pool or spa. Have stayed here at least two days every year since 2005. Plenty of eating places close by. Rate seems a little high for the amenities offered. Will stay here again.

Date of Stay:

Clean decent place. Full timers don't keep their sites too tidy! Nice store and both gas and diesel on site. Mostly paved access roads. Would stay here again.

Ely KOA

Ely, Nevada

Date of Stay:

For $40 a nite, I expect things to be perfect. NOT! Cable TV receptive is lousy. Sites are neither level side to side or front to back. My site slopes 3 inches side to side and more front to rear. Leveling nightmare. But, it is a KOA and it is clean and secure. My last stay here.

Date of Stay:

Perfectly level sites. Wide pull thrus with plenty of maneuvering room. Friendly staff. Propane available. Three sewer hookups per site. front, middle and back. Good cable, 48 channels. Water pressure great, no regulator needed. Would stay here again. Great restaurant/bakery 2 miles north of town called Windmill Ridge. Fuel and post office close by.
