Sundance RV Park, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park with friendly hosts and all utilities worked well including good WiFi and cable. High water pressure so a regulator is a must. Good paved roads with gravel pads which are rather closely spaced but roomy enough to easily maneuver. Nice clean shower/restroom/laundry facilities. Very busy road in front of the park but quiet at night. I'd suggest stopping for gas at the outskirts of town at either end as the ones in town are a tight squeeze for anything large. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

There are expectations when you stay in a KOA and this one met them all. Friendly folks at check in (even gave me free cookies), good utilities including cable and WiFi, plenty of activities like playgrounds, pool, mini golf, a fish pond where you can feed the Koi. Gravel roads and pads in good shape, decent spacing between with some grass between sites, easy access and plenty of room for maneuvering. Quiet at night despite being close to the highway. There are roomy gas stations at the highway exit and a barbecue restaurant if you don't feel like cooking. Can't ask for more. We camped at Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This was a fine park with a friendly check-in, good gravel roads, nicely spaced pads with grass areas in between and plenty of room for all size rigs. Utilities worked well including WiFi but no cable but got a few channels on the antenna. Bathroom/shower/laundry facilities were very nice. There is a playground and arcade room for kids. Train tracks are very close and loud but fortunately only a couple trains went by in the night. It was quiet otherwise. Don't think you can escape them anywhere in town. I would rate higher if there was cable - hope she can get it back soon - but still a nice place to stay. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Buckeye RV Park, Coffeyville, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a mobile home park with some RV sites in the back. Some of the mobile homes were rather junky but the park was clean and quiet and the manager was friendly. Water and electric (30/50 amp) worked fine. Sewer connection was uphill from the site so I had to drain the hose by hand a couple times to get the tanks drained. WiFi worked well but no cable and nothing on the antenna so it's satellite or nothing although the local cable company will come and set you up if you stay a week or more. Gravel roads are OK but the pads are weed covered gravel. Didn't check the bathroom/shower/laundry facilities as they are kept locked and you have to pay a $10 deposit for a key: quite inconvenient. There are a couple of fishing lakes guests can use but I didn't try them. There is nothing for kids to do. I wasn't impressed but there's not much else with close access from the highway. We camped at Buckeye RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Big Springs RV Camp, Van Buren, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small very quiet wooded park on the Current River with all the hookups including cable and WiFi that worked well. Good gravel roods and gravel pads. Clean bathroom/shower facilities. Very friendly owners that went beyond the call for me. I left my key on when we arrived resulting in a dead battery and they let me barrow a battery charger to get me going again. Easy access and roomy for easy parking and not right on top of your neighbor. There are a number of long term users but all were clean, friendly, and quiet. Some may not like the less than manicured look but it was perfect for me. Not much to do in this park itself, just a nice quiet, laid back place to stay. We camped at Big Springs RV Camp in a Travel Trailer.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park with full hookups that work well including cable and WiFi. Paved roads and gravel pads are a little closely spaced but roomy enough for easy parking for even the biggest rigs. Office crew are friendly and full of information about the area and they can provide show tickets and shuttle into town if wanted. Decent little store, nice pool, nice clean bathroom/shower facilities and laundry is available. I was surprised at how quiet the park is considering how close the highway is but didn't hear any traffic noise at night. Need RV supplies? There are two large dealers on either side of the park including Camping World. Get gas just after leaving the highway and turning toward the park; it's the only one by the park. Quite full when we were here so I think reservations are a good idea. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sugar Hollow Campground, Bristol, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful city park nestled in the woods with 30/50 amp electric at most sites, water at some sites, cable tv at few sites near the back of the campground, old but clean restroom/showers facilities, and very quiet. WiFi available but didn't work and the ranger said it seldom does. When entering I thought it looked a little tight for big rigs but then I saw a large 5th wheel and a Class A parked. Roads are mostly paved and sites are graveled. Playground for kids, nice hiking trails scattered throughout the park and a golf course adjacent to the park. $18 cash only for any site - pay at the toll both and go pick your site. A nice place to spend the night or a few days. We camped at Sugar Hollow Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Candy Hill Campground, Winchester, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

In many ways a nice park, clean, with friendly staff and full hookup utilities that all worked well including cable and WiFi. Older but decent shower/bathroom facilities. Good paved roads with gravel pads and some had concrete patios. Large big rig friendly sites are well spaced and level. Lots of activities for kids, a nice pool and a well stocked store. All in all, everything you want in a nice park. However, highway traffic noise was terrible all night long. To be fair, we were in a site on the highway edge of the park so if you plan to stay ask for a site away from the highway and it might be better. There is a gas station on the corner where you turn to the park and a Walmart and more gas the next light west of the turn off. We camped at Candy Hill Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Cedar Creek Campground, Bayville, New Jersey

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Seems like a tale of two parks. The front area is where they put short term campers and is open and grassy, sparsely shaded and closely spaced between sites. The back area is nicely wooded and seems where they put the long term/permanent users. Good gravel roads but most pads were sand and grass. Sewer and utilities (30/50 amp) worked well and good water. Nice shower/restroom and laundry facilities. Cable has many channels available but you must use a cable box the park provides with a $50 refundable deposit. Saw some batwings up but the manager told me they don't get much. Wifi - don't bother. You pay extra and I paid 1 day for service that seldom worked. The park is very quiet and the owners very friendly and had suggestions for things to see. There are two pools (closed when we were there), playgrounds and game rooms for kids. We stayed for 4 days and took day trips to see the Statue of Liberty, Philadelphia and Long Beach island. There is a Walmart about 1.5 miles to the South. All in all a very nice place I just wish WiFi worked better. We camped at Cedar Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Seaport RV Resort, Old Mystic, Connecticut

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with good gravel roads, very quiet, very clean and grassy spacious sites but little shade. Utilities including cable and WiFi worked well. No sewer connections but a dump station and a pump out service available. Playground area for kids with a mini golf course and a small fishing lake. Nice clean bathroom/shower facilities but no shower mats and floors get wet so bring an extra towel to stand on. Great place to stay to explore the Mystic Seaport that we enjoyed and an easy day trip to Newport, Rhode Island. Easy highway access from I95. Park has a small store but there is gas and groceries in Mystic. Things are a little tight in town so I suggest setting up in the park then going in. Witnessed a Class A bang into another car trying to maneuver in one of the gas stations (should of had a spotter). We camped at Seaport RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Boston Minuteman Campground, Littleton, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 3 nights at this beautiful, tree covered campground. Utilities including cable worked well but WiFi was iffy and slow when it did work. Nice clean bathroom/shower facilities. Good gravel roads and pads and they guide you to your site. Our site was level but some I noticed weren't so. Some long pull throughs but mostly back-ins so make sure you request a long one if you have a big rig. Lots of games/activities for kids and adults alike. Clean enclosed pet area so you can let them run around a little. It was quiet most of the night but early in the morning trains horns were blaring. Friendly staff had good suggestions on getting into and around Boston. Don't be in too big a hurry to leave in the morning or you'll get stuck in rush hour traffic that seems to die down about 9 a.m. Also, there is no advanced signage for the entrance to the park so go slow when you think your getting close as there is just a sign at the driveway. Grocery stores and gas stations are nearby. $48.60 with GS - a little pricey but par for the course in these parts. We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Riverside RV Camping, Bainbridge, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Liked this campground a lot. Good utilities with W/E/S and cable. WiFi was down when we were there but was told by other campers it usually works well. Decent gravel roads and pads are worn gravel and grassy. A few sites have concrete patios but they were taken by the campers that are there for the summer. These long termers were friendly and sites kept clean. Older but clean restroom/shower facilities. Quiet even though the highway is close. Train tracks in the distance but heard only one train in the night. Easy freeway access and a gas station and doughnut shop at the exit. No one was in the office when we arrived but the office was open and we filled out a registration slip, picked a site and paid later. Pretty laid back. We camped at Riverside RV Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Lampe Marina Campground, Erie, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice clean campground right on Lake Erie. Good utilities - no sewer but a dump station. Very nice bath/shower facilities. Paved roads and pads and nice grassy areas and plenty of space between sites. No cable but a number of channels on the batwing. Traffic was a little crazy coming in but found out there was a special event going on causing traffic issues. Little traffic leaving in the a.m. It was quiet at night until about 4 a.m. when all the nearby industrial businesses kicked in then there was lots of noise. Main gates close about 7 p.m. But there is another gate through the marina parking lot to your right that is always open if you're late. Not too crowded when we were there but understand it often is and reservations are recommended. We camped at Lampe Marina Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Hickory Hollow Campground (closed), Utica, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

A nice park with good utilities but no cable. There were a few channels on the batwing however. WiFi was very spotty and slow when it did work. Nice large pull through sites with mostly gravel pads and a few concrete ones and well graveled roads that are holding up well despite recent heavy rains. Nice restroom/shower facilities and friendly owners. Highway noise was minimal due to nice large sound buffering trees but there is an agricultural plant of some kind near by that had a constant hum all night. Mosquitoes however were terrible. It was quite full so I would recommend reservations. We camped at Hickory Hollow Campground (closed) in a Travel Trailer.

Hideaway RV Park, Grass Lake, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00

Nice park, very friendly owners, easy access from highway and very quiet. Utilities worked well. No cable but a number of channels on the batwing. Older but clean bath/shower facilities. WiFi is quite slow and didn't always work. Gravel roads and pads in good condition even with recent rains and sites have concrete patios. Most of the campers are long term spending the summer there and they were friendly and sites were clean. They only have 50 amp connections but have a 30 amp pigtail to borrow if needed. Nice walking trail through the woods and a small fishing lake with paddle boats. We camped at Hideaway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
