This was interesting. I called ahead to make reservations but was told they don't accept them and they are full but they sometimes save one for travelers (they are full with resident oil field workers). So I called the other parks in the area and they said they were also full. So I called back and asked if I could reserve a motel room and if they had no RV spaces I would stay in the motel. That's what I did. When I arrived they had a space available so I took it. When I was hooking up, another lady came by and asked who said I could stay here and I told them the motel. Oh, okay. Not exactly a well run operation.. As far as the park goes, it was fine; all dirt and gravel but clean enough and quiet. Utilities including cable worked fine but no WIFI. Restrooms were Okay but showers had mold on the walls and shower curtains. I'd probably give it a 7 rating but with the reservation/management issues I can only give it a 4. All I can say is good luck but I wouldn't plan on staying in this area.

This is park is old and shows its age but is still a nice one. Sites are mostly shady with gravel or grass slips with one paved site they gave us. It is off the highway about ¼ mile so is quiet. There are many permanents/log term and while most are very old trailers, they are clean and residents respectful. Utilities including WIFI and cable worked well. I looked in on the shower/restroom facilities; they are old but looked clean enough. The owner was friendly and showed us to our spot. So if you want a clean, quiet place to stop for the night and don't need fancy, this is a fine place that I would use again if in the area

We didn't intend to stay here but our truck transmission went out and we were towed here while our truck was getting repaired. They were so gracious and sympathetic to our predicament. They were almost booked full for the Easter weekend but were able to accommodate us with a full hookup site. They were even willing to move our trailer into our site if the tow truck couldn't maneuver inside the park. This is a very clean park and all the utilities and WIFI worked well and they have nice shower/restroom facilities. We were not able to get a cable TV site but we received several stations on the antenna. After the weekend they moved us into a cable site. Since we were delayed getting home for a few days we needed to wash some clothes and they have a nice laundry. While highway & train noise was there it didn't bother us. There are many activities to do; a fishing lake, peddle boats, 2 pools, mini golf, rec. room, and playground and go next door for some great boudin. It is clearly a destination park for many from far and near. $42.50 and they gave us 2 free nights since we stayed the week. A great place to stay but very busy so reservations are recommended.

We spent 2 nights at this beautiful state park. It is across the river from New Orleans. We talked to some folks staying in a park in the city and they said it was so cramped and noisy they were thinking about moving and when we told them how quiet and spacious this park is they were for sure moving. We made use of the ferry from Algiers to N.O. and wandered around the French Quarter for awhile. The park gives you easy directions to the ferry. It costs $2.00 to ride one way (exact change required) and parking is $5.00. An easy way to go to avoid downtown traffic. We didn't use them but there are trolleys, buses, and horse carriages to take you around if you don't want to walk around the French Quarter. We also drove out to the Barataria Preserve which was well worth the visit. You can explore the bayou on your own terms and it's free. A cheap alternative to the pricey swamp tours. Water & electric hookups and WIFI worked well and the shower/restroom facilities were nice but bring an extra towel to stand on to dry off as the floors get wet. No sewer hookup but they have a dump station. No cable either but quite a few channels on the antenna. I would surely recommend this place if you are in the area but you better make reservations.

We stayed 2 nights at this beautiful state park right on Mobile Bay. Some of the sites back right up to the waters edge. Utilities and WIFI worked well and the restroom/shower facilities were clean though an extra towel to stand on after showering is needed to keep your feet dry. No cable but we got several TV stations on the antenna. Saw a couple alligators from the boardwalk and some crab fishermen were catching a few from the pier. Also, beautiful sunsets are a plus. There are geocaches in the park if you partake in that activity. There are some great seafood places a short distance to the west on the causeway. We took a day to drive out to Dauphin Island and it was well worth it. We read about the ants and found out you can repel them with borax so we circled our site with it and didn't have any problems. Almost a perfect score if the showers had floor mats or something to keep the floor dry in the changing area. I would surely recommend this place if you are in the area but you better make reservations

This is a fine place to pull off for the night. Yes it is old and not well maintained, more like camping in the woods with hookups. But it has everything you need; quiet, shaded, good utilities including WIFI, but no TV. The friendly lady at the office said we should be able to get 2 or 3 stations on the antenna but I couldn't. The lady led us to our site which is good because the roads are grassed over and not all sites are well marked - you just drive across the grass and pull up beside your utility box. There are long term/permanents in the back but they are clean and quiet. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area. One bad thing about the place is it's right next to a swamp and I bet the bugs are bad in the summer.

Stayed two nights and this is a beautiful campground. Clean, quiet, great utilities with WIFI and cable. Bathhouse is very nice. Beautiful stately oak trees covered in Spanish moss and lovely azalea bushes blooming. They have a free fishing lake that supposedly has a resident alligator but I didn't see it. Don't think they come much better than this. I'd give it a perfect score except for one thing – the very annoying and numerous speed bumps. Also be aware, traffic on the road is horrible. No noise in the park but if you need to make a left turn out of the park or left into the park, it may take awhile. Also should note there is a very nice seafood place about .9 miles to the south (right). Doesn't look like much being an old gas station but it's very good and plenty of food that we ate on for three days.

We stayed here 4 years ago and liked it enough to stay again on this trip. Sites are level, utilities including cable and WIFI worked well, park including restrooms/showers are nice and clean, friendly manager. Highway noise is there but didn't disturb my sleep any. You should be aware that the park was full the night we stayed and was mid week so I would suggest advanced reservations be made. I would stay again

This is a nice park. A dozen or so sites, some pull through and some back-in sites, all very level. Some of the back-ins have concrete patios. Utilities (water, electric, sewer) work well. No cable but another camper was able to get several stations on the antenna but I couldn't. I'll admit, I'm a TV addict and missed it here but we listened to the radio and played board games. Maybe he has a better booster. I saw a WIFI signal but couldn't crack the code. Surprisingly quiet being close to the highway. I think the buildings out front dampen the sound. A great overnight spot with friendly owners. If you are into geocaching, there is one across the road. I would stay again. I rated 7/10 only because of the lack of amenities.

A nice park with friendly owner. A couple miles off the highway so it's very quiet. It is clean and well graveled and even though they had heavy rain the day before we arrived, mud wasn't an issue. Utilities worked well including WIFI. No cable and while they list several channels available on the antenna, I could only get two. Showers are just a cinder block style that are clean but floor gets wet and I'm glad I brought my own bathmat. Some sites are a little unlevel but I did fine with my 25 foot trailer. If you have a big rig make sure you get into one of the larger, more level sites. They also have a free catch and release fishing pond but it was too cold and rainy for me to try my luck. Like geocaching? There is one just outside the park. I would stay again.

Nice state park. A little off the beaten path but worth the drive about 4 miles off the interstate. Very clean and quiet and beautiful surroundings. Didn't tour the cave but sounds interesting. Good water and electric hookups; no sewer but a dump station is available. Showers and restroom facilities available but the showers are just pool showers; concrete floors and minimal privacy. Weekend reservations (Friday & Saturday) require a 2 night minimum stay. There are several geocaches here if you enjoy that sport. Would stay again.

Stayed here so we could visit the Vicksburg Civil War Battlefield Park which I highly recommend. RV park is nice, clean, quiet, concrete pads, easy to get to, and a very friendly manager. Small lawns but no shade to speak of which may be a detriment in the hot summer. They have a free shuttle service to the casino/restaurant which we made use of to partake in the excellent seafood buffet they have on weekends. Great views of the river and some Civil War historical sites across the road from the park. All Utilities including WIFI and cable worked well. Showers and restrooms are in the office building and looked very nice though we didn't use. Would stay again

Very nice park that is far enough off the highway to be quiet but easy to get to. All utilities, including Wi-Fi and cable, worked well although the local CBS station came in better on the batwing antenna. The park was very clean; in fact, even though we are self contained, we made use of their very nice shower facilities. They have a little on-site store with some RV necessities in case you forgot something. There are some permanents but all were clean and quiet. A little pricey compared to others with similar attributes, but I would stay again.

A nice park that is far enough off the highway to be quiet but still easy to get to. Utilities all worked well, including Wi-Fi and TV cable. Friendly staff and the park and shower/restroom facilities were very clean. There is a small lake and it was fun to watch the ducks and geese. I would stay here again.

It'll do is how I'd sum up this place; certainly nothing fancy with just gravel and dirt parking but quite a few shade trees. Best part about this park is it's very quiet. RV park is behind an old motel that appears to be used now as low rent apartments but everyone was quiet. showers/ restroom is just one motel room left open for RV visitors to use. Seemed to work out but just didn't feel very clean. Poor TV reception over cable but other utilities including WIFI worked well. Owner was friendly but office reeked of cigarette smoke. Also be aware that this a cash only deal. If you are a geocacher, there are several within easy walking distance. There is a Kmart just a block to the east. If I come through this area again I would probably stay here again as others in town didn't look any better.
