Riverside Cabins and RV Park, Ennis, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very small RV park located just as you enter Ennis from the south. There are no restrooms, showers, or cable but there is 50 amp, water and sewer. This park is hidden gem and is only a couple of blocks from 'downtown' Ennis and a nice Lions Club park is next door with access to the Madison River and several paved paths with benches and picnic tables scattered though it. There is also a small playground and fishing pond for kids. The only reason I did not give it a 10 was because of the lack of restrooms, showers, and cable. The sites are not large but it is usually not full and there are some seasonal sites for workers in the area. We will stay there again when we're in the area. We have a 36' RV. We camped at Riverside Cabins and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The RV park cannot be accessed from the main entrance so DO NOT PULL IN. Park on the street and go to the office and you'll be directed to go a few hundred feet and turn to come into the RV section from the back.

Ennis has several cute shops and restaurants along with Willie's Distillery. The Gravel Bar has excellent food and is in walking distance of the campground.

Navajo Lake State Park, Cottonwood Campground, Navajo Dam, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The Cottonwood campground is very nice with paved interior roads and pads. Sites are spacious with space between the sites. There is 30 and 50 amp service as well as water, covered picnic tables and some sites have shade. Price reflects the $56 4/night price plus the $12 transaction fee. Now the bad part which is not the CG's fault so I did not deduct points from the rating. The 2 miles of county road getting to the campground is terrible but once you're in the park, it is paved. The county road is gravel with washboards and potholes. Perhaps it's better at other times of the year but it's awful now. Mosquitoes at the river were terrible. Had we known the condition of the road we would not have come. We camped in a 36' DP. We camped at Navajo Lake State Park, Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring what you need. The road to and from the CG are so bad, you really don't want to travel it anymore than absolutely necessary. Also, if you have dogs be aware that there are horrid little stickers on the ground.

Grand Island KOA, Doniphan, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Site was level, 50 amp hookups & cable (we didn't use it), very clean and quiet. We did not have a sewer but didn't need it so that was fine with us. Price reflected that. Lots of big rig sites available. Good area for dogs. The sites are not huge but we had an end site so no one on the driver's side. There are shade trees scattered through the campground, which is nice. The cafe offers a "daily supper special" which we took advantage of. It was very good and well worth the $7.95. They also offer pizza which is fixed there.

We would definitely stay there again! We camped at Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park with paved roads and level concrete pads. There are sites for the largest DPs. It is dog friendly with 2 dog walks plus a trail around their "mountain". We would stay there again. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fossil Creek RV Park, Russell, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a place we'd stay again. I picked it over it's completion based on other reviews but was very disappointed in this small cramped park, however; it served it's purpose as a place to stop for the night. There were abandoned, gutted house trailers along one side of the park and what appeared to be a permanent 5th wheel in one site with loud teens or young adults. We won't come again. We camped at Fossil Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.
