Aztec RV Resort, Margate, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

In Ft. Lauderdale to participate in "foodie" festival, and seeking quiet spot for vacation. Previously stayed in two RV parks closer to airport and did not like airport noise. No airport noise here, but lots of construction ongoing. There were at least 20 sites with big projects ongoing - Tiki huts, pavers, etc. Great for the park later, but awful if you are camped next to it. If you stay here request a site NOT next to construction projects. We camped at Aztec RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bluewater Key RV Resort, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

Gorgeous, big rig friendly resort. Have site right on the bay (am writing this looking out my front window at my private dock, next to my private thatched hut! The only reason I downgraded 1 point is two fold - Wi-Fi is horrible, at dial up speed - and there was loud construction (backhoe breaking up concrete slab) one day last week. I was fifteen sites away and the noise and dust bothered me - I feel real sorry for the ladies who were next door. There are several ways to rent here. Two real premium sites only can be rented long term from the owners directly, I was told. The "blue pot lot" people rent about 15 sites that are premium - this is who I rented from: www.bluewaterkey.net. Also known as the dot net group I hear. The dot com folks also rent sites but their prices were higher when I was there. Again, would give them a 10 if the Wi-Fi worked at better than dial up speed. We camped at Bluewater Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Grassy Key RV Park & Resort, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Quiet, clean, new, so a little barren: could use more landscaping. Very attentive management. A little farther from Marathon than we expected: about 10 miles to groceries, drugstore, etc. But the peaceful setting was worth the drive. (Came here after leaving a very loud campground last stay.) Some good restaurants close by: you do not have to drive to Marathon for good restaurant. Very nice. Would return here. We camped at Grassy Key RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Hobe Sound, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park. Accommodated big rigs, which many state parks do not. A little buggy, but that's my problem for coming to Florida in August. Definitely would return here. We camped at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in a Motorhome.

Calusa Campground Resort and Marina, Key Largo, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Incredibly (potentially) gorgeous site, right on the bay, but almost impossible to get in it with a big rig. Peaceful and calm: at first. Then came the Labor Day invasion! Uncontrolled children running everywhere, boom boxes blaring incredibly loud, and no consideration of people who did not want to hear loud music till late at night, or even at noon. We left early. We will not return. We camped at Calusa Campground Resort and Marina in a Motorhome.
