Desert Willow RV Park, Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is mostly an overnight place. Lots of pull-thru's. We ended up staying 4 nights when spring break filled the state and national parks. Good showers, WiFi is better than most, clean bathrooms. The only issue is the noise from the road and the occasional train. Friendly management. Price was great, especially since it included water, electric, sewer, cable, and WiFi. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Great wifi! Easy off & on to highway. Very friendly owners. Needs a bathroom & shower. Also, lots of dust but until grass grows the owners provide a mat to put outside your RV door! Good TV reception. Nice large pull-thru sites. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Motorhome.

Pensacola RV Park, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is the park we use when in the area. The place is clean (restrooms, laundry, sites). Wifi is good and there are 72 TV channels. Friendly management that are making improvements )selling propane now). Sites are big. We like the pull-thru ones best. Short drive to all that Pensacola has to offer. We camped at Pensacola RV Park in a Motorhome.

Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park, Brierfield, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Whoever set up the camping at this park has never been to another campground. We paid for an "electric and water" site. Turns out it was primitive camping on the side of a hill with dips, dirt, mud, rocks, and fallen branches but no actual sites. The water and electric were a few connections spread out over the entire space. There was no spot to camp with an RV where you could reach both, and nothing actually level or cleared off. We ended up paying extra for a site with sewer (we had no need for a sewer site). These sites looked like RV parks being small and close together but without the concrete pad.

We asked for a map of the trails and got an old handwritten map that they said wasn't accurate with small lettering and had been copied so many times we couldn't read it. If they have bathroom and/or showers here, I never found them. They aren't near the campsites. There's a pool here that they make a big deal that it's "clean" so that was scary. We don't plan to return here. We camped at Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park in a Motorhome.

Salt Fork State Park, Lore City, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Bathrooms dirty (same dirt over 3 days). Trails overgrown with brambles and weeds. Electric only. Rude campers. (Dogs off leash, LOTS of bright lights on all night.) Campsites like camping in a field with no privacy. Beach looked ok, but nothing special. We camped at Salt Fork State Park in a Motorhome.

Choke Canyon State Park (Calliham Unit), Three Rivers, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this park. The animals and birds you can see are amazing. From our campsite we saw deer, rabbits, javelinas, bobcats, Audubon Oriole, King Bird, and cardinals. More within a quick hike. Go to the ranger programs to learn more about birds. The hiking paths are good with some variety. You can bike the paths or the roads. Wifi is slow at the office with nothing at the campsites so I rated it down a point. Verizon is variable but most days we could use our hot spot. TV channels were good. Showers were good. The covered picnic table is an extra. We camped at Choke Canyon State Park (Calliham Unit) in a Motorhome.

Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Mathis, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

The campsites are small. We have only a 30' motorhome and it took 3 campsites to find one level and large enough for us. The concrete pads they have are for small RV's and the surrounding asphalt is broken up. The view is of the other campers in the loop. Instead of a bathroom per loop, you have to walk to a 'central' bathroom. First time I did a short cut but the sandburs were terrible (no paths to the bathroom). The walk on the road is long to the bathrooms. Showers were in bad shape. Plus these are the type you have to change in front of everyone then take a shower in a stall with a curtain that covers half the opening. Internet is very sporadic and slow. TV reception is OK. Verizon 4G is good. Hiking paths are very limited. No ranger programs during the 2 weeks we were there. Unless you have a boat, this isn't a great park. We camped at Lake Corpus Christi State Park in a Motorhome.

Austin Lone Star Carefree RV Resort, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff at counter but they make you set up before you can pay. So it's an extra trip to the office plus an extra $20 deposit on a card to get into the campground. Guy directing us to our site was pretty nasty. Had us move our RV to the far edge of the driveway because our slide might hit the bushes that overhang the gravel drive. Trimming would have solved that problem. No cable except for a sign at the office blaming the local cable company. Highway noise woke me several times at night. Showers are fairly clean but varied from burning hot to freezing cold at the same setting. Didn't walk around the place so I don't know about the permanent resident area. Expensive for what you get. We camped at Austin Lone Star Carefree RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cascade Caverns, Boerne, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful campground that's just a couple of miles from town & Walmart but in peace and quiet. The deer are amazing. We saw 10 just driving to our spot. The campground was a bit muddy, but this was during the big rains that closed many local campgrounds. Friendly staff. Clean restrooms with good showers. Wifi was good. Got quite a few channels on the antenna including the major channels. Nice hiking adventures possible on the large property. We camped at Cascade Caverns in a Motorhome.

Chattanooga North / Cleveland KOA, Cleveland, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I don't care that the owner has a back problem. Hire someone to clean up the sites and keep the place maintained. Our site was filthy and needed repairs. This place is way too expensive given the condition and amenities. Apparently the cable system requires an upgrade but they don't want to spend the money. Even though cable is promised, they don't have it and no discount. Internet is so-so. Not a good place after a rain. We camped at Chattanooga North / Cleveland KOA in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Way overpriced for just water and electric and a gravel parking lot type of camping. Before I checked in I asked if they had Wi-Fi and whether it worked (I needed to access my email). They assured me it was just fine. After a day of trying everything they told me to do, they admitted the Wi-Fi doesn't work with laptops. What?! I asked if any other nearby RV parks had Wi-Fi. They said no (another lie). I wanted to leave and get my money back for the extra days. They refused since "I didn't give them 24 hours notice". Well, I didn't know they were lying to me 24 hours ago! Terrible management. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Issaquah Village RV Park, Issaquah, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is the best RV park we can find in the area. While the sites are small, at least there is grass, trees, and flowers. Love the fact they have bins for recycling. Showers, cable, and wi-fi were good. It's the price that is outrageous. We camped at Issaquah Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Campground was OK for a single night stay. Flat site. Lots of cable channels. Wi-fi was slow but steady. Showers were very good. Came in on a Sunday and had problems figuring out their system since the office is closed on Sundays. We camped at Caldwell Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crystal Hot Springs, Honeyville, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground connected to a water park. Everything the other reviewers say is true. Lots of kids running around. No Wi-Fi or cable. Showers aren’t really clean and are without a changing room since they expect you to be wearing a swimsuit. Registration is weird. Park near the garbage bin and then walk down to the main office. Yet, we loved it. Beautiful green grass and trees. Gorgeous mountain. Life can’t get better than this! We camped at Crystal Hot Springs in a Motorhome.
