F.W. Kent Park, Oxford, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Electricity but no water at the site. Our site was level. Internet was slower but the signal was strong. We received quite a few TV channels. Cell phone service was good. The place was almost empty so that the skies were dark at night. The hiking trails were pretty good with lots and lots of wildflowers everywhere. We camped at F.W. Kent Park in a Motorhome.

Kickapoo State Recreation Area, Oakwood, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Electricity but no water at the site. Level campsites. Lots of trees so some shade and privacy. Bathrooms were not very clean. The hiking paths were not maintained well and not marked well. We didn't use the mountain bike trails but there were a lot of them. Best part for us is there are quite a few first-come, first-serve campsites so we were able to find a campsite even though many local parks were reserved full. They do not take credit cards. We camped at Kickapoo State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

McCormick's Creek State Park, Spencer, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Electricity but no water at the site. Few campsites are level. The one were put in was full of trees so that we barely cleared the trees on both sides of the RV. Nice shade and we still had good phone service and TV channels. We camped at McCormick's Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Spring Mill State Park, Mitchell, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Took all our plates to level on our site. Lots of sites available but few are close to level. Electricity but no water at the site. Cell phone service wasn't very good and very few TV channels. Caves are closed during the week while we were there but otherwise there are lots of things to see at this park. We enjoyed the village. We camped at Spring Mill State Park in a Motorhome.

Lincoln State Park, Lincoln City, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The campsites were paved but required plates to level the RV. There is electricity but no water at the sites. Lots of sites available during the week. Was able to get several over-the-air TV channels. The campgrounds seemed more like an RV park than a state park, in a bad way. As we set up, two groups of people were sitting in their campsites but essentially our campsites and watching our every move. Sites were too close together and no separation! Interesting hikes to Lincoln's sister's grave and the moon tree. We camped at Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Little Ocmulgee State Park, McRae, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Campsite was good with gravel and only required a few pads to level the RV. Good bathrooms and showers. Enjoyed hiking but the water/pond/river is overgrown with an invasive species so that basically it is "yucky"! They have been working on it for several years. We camped at Little Ocmulgee State Park in a Motorhome.

Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge, Acworth, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

There is one loop of pull throughs for RV's. As far as I know, you can't reserve a specific site. The problem with these sites is that the ones farther down the line have a terrible slope and road condition coming out of the campsite. We drove slow and were thrown around as we hit pot holes. Luckily our RV was short enough (29') to make the turn onto the loop. It was raining for the one night we stayed so we didn't try the hiking the trails. The gate system was a pain since we arrived after 4 pm. We camped at Red Top Mountain State Park & Lodge in a Motorhome.

Old Stone Fort State Park, Manchester, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

The water hook-up was on one side of the campsite and electrical was on the opposite side but we made it work. Concrete pad but we had to add a few pads to level our RV. Showers were good. A little moldy but we had new shower curtains. Loved the trails and the history of the park. Deer wander the campgrounds. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

Mammoth Cave National Park - Mammoth Cave Campground, Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We were lucky to arrive when one of the two full hook-up sites was open. Great site (though required pads to level). Most sites were for tents. Bathrooms only. The showers were in the camp store and cost money. Lots of hiking trails available. No reservations for the campsites but you have to have reservations for cave tours (or at least you do on weekends). Deer wander the campgrounds. We camped at Mammoth Cave National Park - Mammoth Cave Campground in a Motorhome.

Desert Willow RV Park, Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is mostly an overnight place. Lots of pull-thru's. We ended up staying 4 nights when spring break filled the state and national parks. Good showers, WiFi is better than most, clean bathrooms. The only issue is the noise from the road and the occasional train. Friendly management. Price was great, especially since it included water, electric, sewer, cable, and WiFi. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Great wifi! Easy off & on to highway. Very friendly owners. Needs a bathroom & shower. Also, lots of dust but until grass grows the owners provide a mat to put outside your RV door! Good TV reception. Nice large pull-thru sites. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Motorhome.

Pensacola RV Park, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is the park we use when in the area. The place is clean (restrooms, laundry, sites). Wifi is good and there are 72 TV channels. Friendly management that are making improvements )selling propane now). Sites are big. We like the pull-thru ones best. Short drive to all that Pensacola has to offer. We camped at Pensacola RV Park in a Motorhome.

Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park, Brierfield, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Whoever set up the camping at this park has never been to another campground. We paid for an "electric and water" site. Turns out it was primitive camping on the side of a hill with dips, dirt, mud, rocks, and fallen branches but no actual sites. The water and electric were a few connections spread out over the entire space. There was no spot to camp with an RV where you could reach both, and nothing actually level or cleared off. We ended up paying extra for a site with sewer (we had no need for a sewer site). These sites looked like RV parks being small and close together but without the concrete pad.

We asked for a map of the trails and got an old handwritten map that they said wasn't accurate with small lettering and had been copied so many times we couldn't read it. If they have bathroom and/or showers here, I never found them. They aren't near the campsites. There's a pool here that they make a big deal that it's "clean" so that was scary. We don't plan to return here. We camped at Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park in a Motorhome.

Salt Fork State Park, Lore City, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Bathrooms dirty (same dirt over 3 days). Trails overgrown with brambles and weeds. Electric only. Rude campers. (Dogs off leash, LOTS of bright lights on all night.) Campsites like camping in a field with no privacy. Beach looked ok, but nothing special. We camped at Salt Fork State Park in a Motorhome.
