Harrisburg East Campground, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, smaller campground. Close to major highways and Hershey Park. Check in was easy and shown to our campsite by an employee, of which all were very friendly and courteous. Upgraded newer bathrooms and showers. We had a level, gravel, spacious site. No campstore, but you can purchase firewood. Pool area is very nice, which we enjoyed in between visiting Hershey. At this point I would have given them a score of 9 or 10. However, then it went downhill when Friday night came. No one followed the 5mph speed limit, almost everyone did well above that, it was a little scary since we had young granchildren with us. One truck even did a burn out in front of our site! And many campers cut thru our site and other campsites instead of walking on the paved roads. At first I thought it was a fluke because we were inside our camper the first time we saw it, but random people did it even when we were sitting outside; we have never experienced that before. If it would have been one person speeding or one particular camper that kept cutting thru our site, I would consider going back. But at this point I would not. We camped at Harrisburg East Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hemlock Campground & Cottages, Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Hemlock a few times over the past few years and we are never disappointed. It is a quiet, smaller sized campground which we prefer rather than the resort type. All the weekender sites are well groomed and the whole campground is fully shaded, which comes in handy on hot and humid days. There is plenty to do and see in the area. The owners are friendly and personable. We look forward to going back in September of this year. We camped at Hemlock Campground & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

StoneyBrook Estates Campground, Lehighton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at StoneyBrook several times over the past few years. The best bang for your buck. Everything is included, WESC and WIFI and any planned activities are included in your stay. It is our "go to" place for a quick weekend get away, which is usually 2 or 3 times a season. The sites are very well spaced a part, which we love. We can't say enough good things about the owner and his nice young family. We camped at StoneyBrook Estates Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Creek Campground, Narvon, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed Labor Day weekend with another couple. We called 3 weeks before Labor Day weekend to see if by chance they had any openings, the girl that answered the phone could not have been nicer. She accommodated us with no problems. We had site 107 along the creek & site 115 which is adjacent. Both sites were fantastic. Bathrooms & showers were immaculate. Definitely will be back. Only reason they are getting a 9 - the store closed at 5pm on Sunday night which I find a bit odd for a large holiday weekend, but we were able to get firewood by placing money in a slot in the office door. Very very nice setting, cant say enough about the site along the creek. Very large & spacious. would recommend to everyone. We camped at Oak Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Vista Campground, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

All sites are shaded and have division between your next campsite. Our site was a little on the small side for our 30' 5th wheel w/ 1 slide. We could barely fit our truck on the site with us. We did see other sites that are larger, which we would ask for if we came again. Used the restrooms by the office, they were not clean at all. Tried the other restroom on the hill, they were better. We didn't use the showers at all. A lot of amenities. They had a band one of the nights we stayed and it was very enjoyable. Everyone was very friendly, the staff and other campers. Very close to a lot of things to do in the Pocono Mountains. Would stay again. They will get a 10 next time if they have clean bathroom facilities and a larger site to accommodate us. Would recommend to a friend. We camped at Mountain Vista Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Boulder Woods Campground, Green Lane, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is the first time staying at this campground and we were pleasantly surprised. It is tucked away on some back wooded roads and the campground is spread out on two sides of the road. We stayed in a section away from the main campground where the pool and activities were going on, across the road, but we liked it. Very spacious, wooded pull through site. It has a lake for fishing and lots of activities for kids and grown-ups were posted. We walked around to see what the other sites looked like: 90% are permanents, but they have 2 small sections dedicated pretty much to weekend campers. And both sections were shady and set up nicely. We went to Rice's Flea Market on Saturday, which is about a half hour away. The only reason I'm giving a 9: the two wooded sections for weekend campers, do not have any bathhouses. You would need to walk a pretty far distance to use the bathhouses. We were only here for 3 days, so it was ok that they don't have sewer hook-ups at any sites at this campground and we could dump on our way out. We will definitely be coming back here at least one or two more times this season. We just loved that it was tucked away from it all. We camped at Boulder Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Appalachian Campsites, Shartlesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for the first time Memorial Day Weekend and made reservations for next year for the same weekend. We stayed in the wooded sites directly behind the store, very spacious sites, they don't have sewer hook-up, but the honey wagon came around on Sunday. Lots and lots to do at this campground. Very kid friendly, they have activities planned from morning to night. Our 4 yr old granddaughter had a great time. Nice pool area, we didn't go in because it was crowded, it was very very humid this w/end, so it's understandable it was full. They had a D.J. one nite and a live band the next. They have an ice cream stand & a little restaurant. They also have a game room, playground and a pond for fishing. The only negative I have is the employees in the store were not very cheery. It seemed like we were bothering them. Other than that I would have given them a 10. We camped at Appalachian Campsites in a Fifth Wheel.

Don Laine Family Campground, Palmerton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed opening w/end in the pull through site area. They have scheduled activities such as bingo, hayride through the woods, very nice playground for the kids, had a covered dish event this w/end. Well supplied camp store, also has a kitchen & nice seating area to eat with old camping memorabilia to look at while you are dining. We grabbed an egg sand on a bagel one morning, the other food items listed looked very reasonably priced and sounded delicious. Although it was opening w/end the bathrooms were immaculate & had plenty of room to shower. We are coming back for Father's Day w/end and another w/end in October - we look forward to it. We camped at Don Laine Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Adventure Bound Camping Resorts – Eagles Peak, Robesonia, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay. We were greeted by campsite personnel at the gate with our reservations right in their hands. They checked us in and also showed us right to our site. This gave it a 10 right off the bat. We stayed up on the hill where it is very woodsy, level, spacious campsite. This gets an A plus in my book. They had tons of activities for kids and grown ups alike. They have a pond for fishing and a stocked camp store. Definitely will be coming back later in the season. They get a thumbs up. Will probably try to stay at one of their other campgrounds in another state this season as well. Very impressed. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resorts – Eagles Peak in a Fifth Wheel.

Don Laine Family Campground, Palmerton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We will definitely return to Don Laine Campground, the view from the mountain is outstanding. They have planned activities, a hay ride through the woods, homemade chicken pot pie and apple fritters: both were out of this world. A nice playground for the kids. You can't beat the price, $28.00 for a family of four!! We haven't stayed in a campground that reasonably priced yet. Can't wait until Spring of 2012 to go back, very nice, friendly staff and fellow campers. We camped at Don Laine Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Gettysburg Battlefield Resort (Travel Resorts of America), Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here free as a guest to listen to the opportunity to join their membership. We were not impressed at all for a campground advertising as a resort. We have stayed in many campgrounds that were not labeled as resorts and that were much nicer. For a resort that wanted us to spend thousands of dollars to join, they didn't give us the "royal" treatment. The sites are literally on top of each other; any closer & you wouldn't be able to put out your awning. If I were trying to impress someone and show them "the best", I would at least give full hook-up. We would never recommend this resort to anyone. We camped at Gettysburg Battlefield Resort (Travel Resorts of America) in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Valley Campsites, Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground. Not very full the w/end we stayed, but may be due to a lot of the rainy weather in northeast this summer or near the end of the season. Stayed in one of their pull through sites which we weren't too impressed with, they are on a strip of grass with 6 of them tight against each other, not much room once you put out your awning. When we walked around we saw a lot of nice shaded sites, which might be more to our liking when it's not so muddy. Staff was nice, game room was OK, they have a pool table & lots of planned activities which was great because we had our 2 yr old granddaughter along, she LOVED the indoor pool. Did some sight-seeing, would stay again. We camped at Silver Valley Campsites in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here with another family and took our grandchildren to Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, it was the weekend of hurricane Irene, we didn't know if we should stay or not, but glad we did. The morning after the storm, the staff was out early, picking up large branches and making sure all the roads were clear and that everyone was OK. We can't wait to go again next year, would recommend highly. We camped at Old Mill Stream Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Evergreen Lakes Campground, Bath, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $35.00

I would not recommend to anyone. The access roads to the sites are very very tiny. There are no activities for children other than a run down game room and a basketball court "on grass". We camped at Evergreen Lakes Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
