Grand Canyon / Williams KOA, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $35.00

OK, but nothing spectacular. Decent size spots, but absolutely no shade or privacy. Nice campfire pit per spot. First KOA we've seen with their own coffee corner and prof. espresso machine. 45 min. drive from Grand Canyon. We camped at Grand Canyon / Williams KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground with beautiful spots. The hosts/owners are very friendly and helpful. It would have been a 10 if the pool wasn't so cold and the Wi-Fi was a bit faster. We camped at Desert View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fine for 1 night and doing your laundry. Not very cheerful campground and very dusty. No restaurants in walking distance. We camped at Avila / Pismo Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

Barstow / Calico KOA, Yermo, California

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $37.00

Very nice! An Oasis in the desert. Big camp-spots, very clean an tidy. Friendly and helpful personnel. You can tell the people are committed to making this campground a nice place to stay. Ideally situated between Barstow and the Ghost town of Calico. Brilliant diner on the other site of the freeway (not Peggy Sue's) We camped at Barstow / Calico KOA in a Motorhome.

Los Angeles / Pomona / Fairplex KOA, Pomona, California

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $37.00

It is not as nice as some reviews say. In all fairness, we arrived the day after the county fair, but still. A very cheerless campground, with narrow spaces and cheap, dirty, picnic sets. The ladies behind desk are a bit grumpy. The campground is 1 hour from Hollywood and 1 hour from long beach (with small rental car). LA + Campground were disappointing, so we decided to leave a day early. The campground has "a strict no refund policy." I think they have people leaving earlier more often. We camped at Los Angeles / Pomona / Fairplex KOA in a Motorhome.
