Creekside Mountain Camping, Bat Cave, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a shabby RV/ Cabin park in a beautiful location. It is between Hickory Nut Gorge / Fairview and Chimney Rock/ Lake Lure. Nothing was truly wrong, but nothing was outstanding. The washers/ driers were only $1 each, but there was only Two sets for a large park. The bathhouse has muddy floors by afternoon and was conveniently located up a steep hill. The creek was lovely, but only the people with creekside sites could access it. We camped at Creekside Mountain Camping in a Motorhome.

Creek Side RV Park, Damascus, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic, BASIC place to park your RV. The one shower is small with no mirror. (We used the facilities in our RV) The owner is friendly and helpful in setting up your RV. All the sites have full hook-ups. The WiFi was strong and reasonably fast. The sound of Laurel Creek was pleasant to listen to as we went to sleep. The RV Park is within an easy walk to restaurants, bike rentals, churches and the PO. GREAT place to stop if you are biking the Virginia Creeper. We camped at Creek Side RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stone Mountain Park Campground, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great place to stay while playing in Stone Mountain Park and probably a good base for exploring Atlanta, although we did not leave the park during our stay. The roads are crumbling and need to be resurfaced, it small ways the RV Park shows a tight state budget. We camped at Stone Mountain Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The turns of the roads were tight for us (27ft. Class C) so the big rigs had to be very careful. We had a nice view of the lake without paying the extra for the 'lakeside' spot. There is a very convenient shuttle bus that goes to the main attractions and the nightly Laser Show. It is possible to spend your whole time in Stone Mountain without a vehicle.

Maple Hill RV Campground, Jamestown, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Small park with a gracious, friendly owner. Very convenient for a visit to the Sgt. York State Park. Bathrooms are 'family style' with the biggest showers I have ever seen at an RV Park. We camped at Maple Hill RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stay here if visiting the Sgt. York sites. An RV parking place is being developed across the street from the Sgt. York general store, but this summer is costs more and has no, NO, facilities. So drive the extra 6 miles to stay at the pleasant Maple Hill which even has a play ground for children.

Hammondell Campsites, Winter Haven, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Hammondell is mainly for permanent and snowbirds with about 40 spots for short term stays. We stayed for a month so the daily rate was very low, but had an electric bill of about $40 at the end of the month. We camped at Hammondell Campsites in a Motorhome.

Woods-n-Water Trails RV Park, Mount Dora, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Our cost was based on staying for a complete week. Although most of the park are permanent and snow birds, it was still a very friendly place. The owners were caring office staff. Internet was available only in the club house which was a slight draw back. The park is on the banks of a lake which was a great place to watch sunsets. We camped at Woods-n-Water Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.

Patio RV Park, Blue River, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This park is directly on the McKenzie River, we could see and hear the river from our site. Most of the park are seasonal or permanent people. However the 2 rows closest to the River are for short stays. We were in a clear site that allowed us to use our satellite TV. WiFi was slow but strong and steady except for the Saturday when the park was totally full.

The office staff was friendly and helpful. Hours after the office closed we knocked on their RV door to buy some firewood.

The bathroom was small and old, but very clean and warm. the laundry was inexpensive with new machines.

There is a nice 'living room' with movies, big screen TV and a jigsaw puzzle table. We camped at Patio RV Park in a Motorhome.

Turtle Rock RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I could not give this Park a '10' because of the WiFi. Provided by a satellite connection, it was weak and unreliable. I never used the WiFi without being knocked off at least once each session. Since the Park provides cable TV, a more reliable internet connection should have been available. Otherwise the park is great. There is a path directly to a wide beach. The office staff is both friendly and helpful. The bath house has 6 complete bathrooms - 2 with tubs. There are 2 large open areas so children have plenty of room to play. We camped at Turtle Rock RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bayside RV Park, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a big parking lot with few trees and little grass. The spots are short but wide. Big rigs just barely fit. I think most people come for the fishing season as I saw many boats parked next to RV's. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The showers were old, but very clean with plenty of hot water. The WiFi was slow, but not terrible. The park is next to the California Coastal Trail so it is great for walking or biking. We camped at Bayside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Redwood Coast Cabins & RV Resort (formerly Eureka Campground), Eureka, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very family friendly park with a playground, mini-golf, tether ball and soon there will be a basketball goal. It is a little expensive for just an overnight spot, but for a longer stay with children it is perfect. I have one quibble with the bathrooms. The lights are on a motion sensor so pick the shower near the window if no one else is moving around in the room. I had the lights turn off while I was in the shower. We camped at Redwood Coast Cabins & RV Resort (formerly Eureka Campground) in a Motorhome.

Red Bluff RV Park, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The only reason I did not give this Park a '10' is that the cable TV is not working properly. Because of the nice shade trees, we could not use our satellite for TV reception. The pool was a good warm temperature, very nice to swim in. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of hot water for the showers.

We would definitely stop here again when in the area. We camped at Red Bluff RV Park in a Motorhome.

Merced River RV Resort, Delhi, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park was a delight. The clerk who checked us in was friendly and helpful. The WiFi was free and strong: I was never kicked off while checking e-mail. We could not receive a satellite signal for our TV, but the park provided free cable with 19 stations. We do not have a pet, but saw that the dog lot was a large, grassy fenced in area with even a shady place for owners to sit and visit while their pets played. The published prices showed that the laundry was a bargain. We camped at Merced River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sierra Trails RV Park, Mojave, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

There were two reasons why we gave the park a low rating. The WiFi was based on satellite service so it was slow and spotty. In desperation to check out e-mail we stood under the router to connect and had to type standing up. The advertised pool was there and full of water but the water was green and the gate was padlocked. I have never seen a dirtier pool.

The owner was very friendly, but we felt the Park was not a good value for the price.

We were able to use our satellite and pick up TV. We camped at Sierra Trails RV Park in a Motorhome.
