Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA, Sallisaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We spent one night here on the way to family reunion. It was very easy off and on the freeway. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome after a long day driving. Pizza and wings are available to order until 6:30 pm and are delivered to your site if you don't want to cook. All sites are gravel and roads are gravel as well. Some of the premium sites have a deck with grill, picnic table and fire ring. Cable TV was good as well as WiFi. Most KOAs have off leash dog park and this one is no exception. The grass was mowed and plenty of poop bags are available. Overall, we would stay here again because of the friendly staff and cleanliness of the park. We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Motorhome.

Ozarks RV Resort on Table Rock Lake (formerly Outdoor Resorts of the O, Oak Grove, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $84.00
Overall Rating:

This park is beautifully maintained with asphalt roads and concrete or other hard surface sites. Our site #263, had a perfect lake and golf course view. There is a 9 hole par three golf course that had received some damage earlier in the spring from heavy rains. The holes along the water were not playable while we were there, but they are working to get them back in shape. Our site also had trees tall enough to block our satellite and cable is not available. We were able to get about 12 OTA channels which is good enough to check weather and news. WiFi was very good at our site. Trash was picked up daily at our site. There is a dog park if you don't mind walking a little way up hill. There are a few golf carts for rent on a first come first served basis, no reservations. There are 2 swimming pools, but the one next to the big clubhouse is for owners only. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back! We camped at Ozarks RV Resort on Table Rock Lake (formerly Outdoor Resorts of the O in a Motorhome.

Catherine's Landing, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This park is beautiful. It gets busy on the weekends but is large and they are in the process of building more sites. Pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes, bikes & golf carts are all available for rent. There is a very nice large covered pavilion that is also available for rent for family gatherings. We camped near the pavilion and found that it could get noisy at times, but for the most part was not a bother. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Shady Pines RV Park, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This park is very nice with all concrete roads and sites. Each site has a concrete patio with picnic table. The grass is green and well maintained. The entire park is nicely manicured and clean. There is a beautiful catch and release fishing pond as well. They do NOT have cable TV, but satellite works great and there were several OTA channels. There is free WiFi and we had a very good signal. We camped at Shady Pines RV Park in a Motorhome.

United Campground of Durango, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park consists of gravel sites with some grass and a lot of very, very tall trees. In fact the trees blocked our satellite as well as most of the other campers there. They do NOT have cable. We were able to get a few TV channels over the air. The sites are buddy sites, meaning you will be parked head to tail with a close neighbor on your utility hook-up side and sharing your patio side with another neighbor. It was a little tight, but we were able to park easily with a 42' motor home. We disconnected the towed before going to the site. The narrow gauge train that runs from Durango to Silverton passes through approximately 4 times a day: twice in the morning beginning at 8:20 am and twice later in the afternoon around 5:30 pm. We wished there had been an off leash dog park. The only place to really walk the dogs was near the train tracks. The WiFi was pretty good at our site, but we were parked close to the bath house/laundry where the WiFi antenna was located. We received a 10% discount for paying by check. They seem to prefer that although they will take credit cards as well. We camped at United Campground of Durango in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Honeyville is just a few miles north on Hwy. 550 and well worth the visit. The honey is delicious!

The Animas River trail is a great place to take a picnic and watch the rafters float by on the river. It's also a great place to take the dogs for a walk. There is a Farmer's Market in town on Saturdays and a Flea Market at the Fair Grounds on Sundays

Angel Fire RV Resort, Angel Fire, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here last year when they were still getting the landscaping done. It was great then, but this year it's absolutely beautiful! They still have a little more work to do to finish things up, but that wouldn't stop us from staying here again. The biggest addition for us this year is the new dog park. Lots of space for the pups and beautiful well maintained grass. Our only suggestion would be to add a couple of benches for the 'people' to sit. The clubhouse is finished now and is one of the nicest we've seen. We attended a cooking demonstration with one of the chefs from the resort and were very impressed. There are two pickle ball courts now along with horseshoe pits and a very nice putting green. There are two fire pits, one at the clubhouse and the other up near the bath house and hot tub. The bath house was kept clean and the laundry room was excellent too.

The only 'negative' we saw while here is the 'Executive' Section (sites 801-805) are not quite finished with landscaping. Those sites were quite muddy and had lots of weeds. Not worth the extra fee yet, but soon! We camped here in a 42' coach with tow vehicle. You might need to unhitch the tow (if you have a motorhome), to give you more maneuverability when you get to your site. The hookups are toward the back, so you'll want to park your towed at the front of your site. We camped at Angel Fire RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a great place to stop for any length of time. We usually stay here a night or two on our way to and from New Mexico/Colorado for the summer months. It's very clean with nice grass for the pups as well as a little dog park so we can allow them to be off lead. It's close to I-40 at exit #60. Very easy on and off the freeway. The road noise was not an issue at all. There is a Love's truck stop at the same exit which made it convenient for us to fill up before heading west when we left. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Buckhorn Lake Resort, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Buckhorn Lake Resort is the standard by which we measure all other campgrounds. The streets and sites are paved with good spacing between sites. Everything is well manicured. Power is very good. The pedestals are maintained well.

Our two pups love the dog park. It is situated in the shade toward the back of the park. The showers are always clean as are the laundry facilities. There are two swimming pools, and two hot tubs. One pool, hot tub, and shower house is adult only.

We have a 42' coach with a towed vehicle and have always had plenty of room to maneuver in the park. We choose to unhitch the towed before driving to our pull-through site, but it's not necessary, especially if you are just overnighting. You can also hook up your towed before leaving your site. We camped at Buckhorn Lake Resort in a Motorhome.

We love to eat at the Lakehouse. They have great fried catfish, chicken fried steak and onion rings! Mamacita's is really good for Tex-Mex and margaritas. Gibson's is a must......they have at least one of everything. It's the best little hardware and more store.

Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground, Elko, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here on our way from Florida to Tennessee. Easy on and off I-75. Very friendly helpful staff guided us to our pull through site. Interior roads and sites are gravel. Our site had a concrete patio with picnic table. Spacious enough to maneuver with tow vehicle attached. DH says the restrooms could have used a little TLC. Perfect for and overnight. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn, Dunedin, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights while visiting friends in Clearwater. We were in a 42' motorhome and had to drop the tow vehicle before driving into our site. The reverse was true upon leaving. Corners too tight to drive out of our space with tow hooked up. The sites are paved with concrete patio and picnic table. Good electricity and water pressure. Swimming pool was very nice and clean. Staff was helpful. Laundry room was adequate, but could have used a little cleaning. Restrooms were dark and had a strong chlorine smell. If visiting here again we would definitely stay here. We camped at Dunedin RV Resort & The Blue Moon Inn in a Motorhome.

We did an overnight here on our way to Tampa. Interior roads are paved, but some tight corners for big rigs. Sites are mostly grass. Our site had a paved patio with picnic table. It is very quiet because it is 8-10 miles north of I-10. We camped at Sunset King RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed overnight on our way to Florida from Texas. Nice park with all concrete level pads, good electricity and water pressure. Good elbow room between sites.
