Tom Johnson Campground, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for an Escapees Rally and the campground and surrounding businesses really took care of us. There was a lot of rain while we were there and the campground had a tractor ready in case we needed help leaving. This kind of support is exceptional and appreciated. The sites are all on a slight grade, nothing that can't be handled by any system, and they are all grass. Well maintained facilities with a large shelter for meetings. We camped at Tom Johnson Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Walkabout Camp & RV Park, Woodbine, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are fairly small, but the owners are very friendly and the area is great to visit. We've been staying here a few days in the spring or fall for six years now and really enjoy it much more now that it has changed hands. Don't miss the Woodbine Opry while in the area. I'd rate it a 10 if the sites were a bit larger. We camped at Walkabout Camp & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Barnyard RV Park, Lexington, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access with large and level sites. There was lots of room for a 40 foot toy hauler and even room to open it with the tow vehicle still parked in front. The flea market was a plus as we enjoyed spending several hours wandering around in it. We'll be back the next time we are in the area. We camped at The Barnyard RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Green Mountain Park Resort, Lenoir, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We are in a 40 foot fifth wheel and the sides were badly scraped getting into the park and leaving will be much worse as there are many tree limbs hanging out over the narrow, rough roads. Park appears to be falling apart, though it is certainly a quiet, secluded area to camp in. We camped at Green Mountain Park Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here as part of an Escapees rally and the facilities and staff were excellent, as were the large, pull through sites. We camped at Sunset King RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

North Shore Landing (Formerly Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA) , Greensboro, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Site was so poorly designed and built that my truck slid as I pulled onto the site and then the jacks sank into the ground while we were parked here. Red clay gets into everything, as mud when it rains and as dust when it is dry. Could be a beautiful place, but will require much work. We stayed here because we belong to the camp group Ocean Canyon Properties, and they do have some very nice campgrounds. We camped at North Shore Landing (Formerly Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Atlanta South RV Resort , Mcdonough, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2011 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here overnight while traveling south. Very friendly hostess, clean restrooms and level, if somewhat short sites. We were able to fit our 41' 5th wheel and truck onto the site, but there was no room left over. Will stop here again as we make this trip twice a year. We camped at Atlanta South RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
