Kingman KOA, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is well off the Freeway in a residential neighborhood, but easy to get to. Wide driveways, and long sites. A little overpriced for such an old Park. If we come this way again, we will find a newer park for the price. Lots of permanent residents, and mobile homes. Very quiet, but very little lighting. We camped at Kingman KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This Park is easy to get to from the Freeway, with good driveways and long sites. Built on a hill, but sites are amazingly level. Tall pines all over and trimmed high for big rigs. The only problem is water has to be trucked in. Showers are really good, but you have to keep pushing a button to get water. It only comes on for 5 seconds at a time! Indoor heated pool is nice. We camped at Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA in a Motorhome.

Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice Park at the Avi Casino. The only downside is the deep sand everywhere. Long level sites, great views, good access. Easy in and out. River Road is rough, but worth the trip. We stayed 3 days and took in the Casinos in Laughlin. We camped at Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great Park. The sites are large and level, as are the driveways. The showers/bathrooms are excellent-glass enclosures, and sparkling clean. The Mexican restaurant in the store is really good, we had it for dinner. The gas station out front accommodates big rigs. Easy on and off Freeway. We will always stay here when traveling West. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Houston West RV Park, Brookshire, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park has been greatly improved in the last 2 years with a new owner. They retained all regular staff, so it is well run. The trashy RV's are gone, and the whole place has been improved, with more to come. There are expanded sites around the perimeter, and the Mobil homes are gone. They have brunches, chili cook-offs, and barbecue contests. Seems to be something going on every other weekend. We camped at Houston West RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2009 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This place is a dump. We have stayed here 3 times over the course of 3 years, and each time it gets worse. It may be the best in town, but that's not much. The food was very good, and the staff was very nice. It desperately needs upgrades, and maintenance. We only stay overnight and never leave the RV. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Carlsbad KOA, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: December, 2009 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is only 8 years old, so in great condition, and well run. The owners live on site, and are hands on. The only bad thing I can say about it is the water is unusable, bring bottled water with you. Even our water softener and filter couldn't improve the taste and hardness. Everything else is great. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

D & A RV Park, Seguin, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight spot-NOT a resort. We stayed here one night in order to get through San Antonio on a Sunday morning. Only 3 sites for overnighters, the rest seem to be permanent residents. Not a fancy place, but will suffice for short stays. Everyone was very nice and easy going. You will be greeted by the resident flock of guinea hens when you pull in, but they stay near the office. Our site wasn't very level, although others looked ok. We pull a 37' fifth wheel and had plenty of space. We camped at D & A RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

High Desert RV Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a quiet adult RV park, away from the city. Well managed. Most sites are permanent or long term residents. We were here for 3 months to explore the area on day trips. Sites are very spacious level gravel, while the roadways are paved. This is the high desert, so expect wind at times, and dust. Views are spectacular. We will return. We camped at High Desert RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Artesia RV Park, Artesia, New Mexico

All sites are full hookups, with cable. Modem in office or free Wifi on unsecured network. Owner lives on premises, and is always available. Big shower facilities, with separate restrooms. All gravel-no mud or dust, and level. Quiet, peaceful. Most guests are permanent residents, but all is well kept and neat. We stayed here 2 weeks in a fifth wheel. New super Wal-Mart for shopping, and many large statues and shops on Main St. We camped at Artesia RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
