Cherry Blossom RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly Pecan Point RV Park), Dothan, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park is mostly a mobile home park. When checkin in I requested a site away from the highway, but when directed to my site it was in a row parallel to a very busy (semi's all night) 4 lane highway, very close, I did not sleep well. The site was a grass field with utility stations, no picnic table, pad or fire ring. But it was long enough that I did not have to disconnect my tow vehicle. The bath rooms were small one person rooms with toilet, shower and sink. One female and one male, but they were clean. If given a choice I would not stay here again, especially if I had to park next to the highway. We camped at Cherry Blossom RV and Mobile Home Park (formerly Pecan Point RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Frank Jackson State Park, Opp, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful state park, most site beside the lake. I had a very nice pull thru site with picnic table and fire ring. The utilities were very well located and worked great. The cable tv was also good. Did not try wifi. The bathrooms and showers were modern and clean as a pin. They also have some nice walking trails thru the woods and around the lake. Very quite and a great place to spend some time. We camped at Frank Jackson State Park in a Motorhome.

Sun Runners RV Park, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice quite park in a good location for restaurants, shopping and visits to the Gulf Shores beaches. The sites are all level and most have a concrete patio slab, my site did not. The utilities are old and dated ( no breaker box at site just receptacle) and the water connection was a ways off and was shared with another site. The cable tv worked very well, did not use wifi. One bad item was the fire ants, there were mounds every where and you really had to watch where you put your feet. Butif I return to area I would stay here again. We camped at Sun Runners RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is owned and operated by the city of Jacksonville. I spent 3 nights in site 22. All of the sites are in a thick oak and palm tree setting, the main roads thru the park are paved. Site 22 was not a good site because it was unleveled and was basically "sugar sand" that you would sink into as you moved about the site. But when I was out on my walks I would see that a number of sites were more level and with firm soil. The campground entrance is only about 1/4 mile from a beautiful beach on the ocean, we did enjoy walks on the beach. The bath houses were normally pretty dirty with shower curtains that looked very old and moldy. But the worse thing I noticed was that the sewer connections at every site extended up vertically and then they had put a 90degree turn in the pipe. Some of these 90's were a couple of inches off the ground and other were 10 to 12 inches off the ground. And every RV that I looked at had their flexible line with a 90 on the end connected to the site 90 which made a dam for the solids. I even saw one site where the park had installed 2 90's right behind each other which ended up with the connection being straight down, not good at all. The power and water was fine , no cable. We camped at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Read comments concerning sewer connections and maybe be prepared with a straight connection on the end of your hose instead of standard 90 connection. Enjoy the beach. There is a great seafood restaurant about 4 miles away at the old fishing village of Mayport called Singletons.

C.B. Smith Park, Pembroke Pines, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is within a very busy county recreation area. But the RV section is located in a quite area set back from the others activities and facilities. Most of the sites were shaded and mine was a pull thru, the roads were easy to maneuver and the bath house facilities were modern and clean. I did not see any laundry facilities and there was no cable TV and with the trees no satellite reception. But overall this is a very nice park. We camped at C.B. Smith Park in a Motorhome.

In our pull behind we made several trips over to A1A and drove to North Miami Beach. We also went on a very nice evening riverboat dinner cruise called " The Jungle Boat River Cruise" they take you on a narrated cruise thru a water canal lined with multi million dollar mansion's and huge private yachts.

Jolly Roger Travel Park, Marathon, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I have stayed at this campground several times over the years. They have waterfront and interior sites which are priced separately. The waterfront sites are very tight and close. I stayed in a interior site which had plenty of room, a small concrete pad and picnic table, the power and sewer connections have been updated recently and were conveniently located. Most of the sites are back in and I had enough room for my pull behind. I had a nice quite stay and would recommend this campground. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Leo's Campground, Key West, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $78.00
Overall Rating:

I stayed here 4 nights in early May. Park personnel very helpful and friendly. The facilities and utilities are kept very neat and clean. On the negative side, I was in site # 12 which was right beside a street that had heavy car and motorcycle all day and night long, very noisy. And my immediate neighbors were up till 3 & 4 in the morning making noise, but Key West is a party town. I would stay here again. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverview Campground, Waco, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is on the outskirts of Waco and is sort of hard to find. There appeared to be quite a few long term residents but the site were pretty well maintained. My site was a pull thru with room for my pull behind. The site had a fairly level concrete pad but due to recent rains any area off of the pad was wet and muddy. The utilities were well located and in good condition. The Wi-Fi and the cable worked well. On the negative side there appeared to be only one male and one female bathroom and shower equipped for one person at a time. It was clean when I used it. I would stay at the park again if in area. We camped at Riverview Campground in a Motorhome.

Towns Bluff RV Park and Heritage Center, Hazlehurst, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 nights here, beautiful location on the Altamaha River. The 24 sites are all level and compacted gravel, some pull thru sites. Sites have 30-50 amp elect. and water only. No sewer, cable or WiFi. Our Verizon service was spotty. There is a centrally located bathhouse with hot showers that was very clean. At the check-in station they have a very nice museum concerning local wildlife and the local settlement history, it was well worth seeing. There is nature trails, a boat ramp and beach on the river which is all within a 5 minute or less walk. All & all it is a beautiful campground setting. The only negative was the rough dirt road getting to the campground from the paved highway. I would certainly stay here again. We camped at Towns Bluff RV Park and Heritage Center in a Motorhome.

Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground, Live Oak, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 nights here in order to see their annual drive-thru Christmas Light show, it was very nice. This campground has a lot of activities to offer thru out the year. It was easy to maneuver thru park and into site, most are back-in. The utilities are properly located and in good condition. My site was very level as are most, it had a picnic table, no fire ring, no concrete pads. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They have a large indoor theater where they serve drinks and full menu meals. We camped at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp RiversLanding, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is located on the south end of Pigeon Forge, handy to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The sites are mostly level and are all back-in, no pull through sites. All site are gravel with a concrete pad for picnic table, the utilities were situated very well, but my water spigot leaked badly when opened. I reported leak to office. The rest rooms and showers were clean and well equipped. The WiFi and cable TV worked very well. We camped at Camp RiversLanding in a Motorhome.

Had A one night stopover at this park. The management was very nice and helpful with local information. This is a small park with 3 pull thru's in center. The restrooms were very clean and well equipped, with plenty of hot water. My site was gravel, fairly level with a picnic table. Utilities were properly located and in good condition. Tips for other Campers:

We were set up by 1:00 pm and had time to visit a couple of the many waterfalls in the area, Clayton GA. is just 4 miles to the south and is a nice place to visit. We had a great dinner at the well know Dillard House just a couple of mile north of the park.
When approaching the park from the south you will top over a hill and the entrance will be on your right and you can pass it very easily if going too fast.

Timber Ridge Resort, Cleveland, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 5 nights in a motorhome. Although the sites are all situated in a very hilly terrain the concrete sites are all large and level, but for some they could be a challenge to back into. I strongly advise locating your site prior to moving your RV into the site area, and good luck to you if you arrive after dark. But once situated it is a beautiful and well maintained resort that is convient to Helen and most of the scenic drives of this area. I would certainly use this resort again. Valley View RV Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 3 nights here, it is an average park in beautiful Island Park. The interior roads and the sites are fairly well maintained gravel. The utilities were a little unusual, the faucet was down inside a concrete pipe that made it difficult to get my dual outlet connector and hose connected. The sewer connection came out of the ground at a sharp angle that would put a sharp bend in your drain hose at the elbow fitting. One end of the campground appeared to be mostly long term residents. But I would stay here again. We camped at Valley View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Meadows RV Park (Fort Hall Casino Campground), Fort Hall, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 1 night here, easy access from interstate. Good paved roads thru camp and paved level sites, sites were pretty close and no picnic tables. Bath and shower facilities were clean and the campground grounds were well maintained. No camp store, but there is a store about 200 yds. away. The casino does have a grill but no restaurant, the grill did serve a good meal at a reasonable price. I pulled into a site I liked and then walked back to the casino to register and they did not have any problem with my site selection. I would stay here again.
