This is a small KOA located very conveniently to I-90 in Kennebec, SD. The park has a very friendly staff and showed me a couple of "short cuts" in getting a big rig into a big rig site. The roads are a bit narrow but accommodated a 45 foot coach towing. The CG has a "Chuckwagon" restaurant, albeit we didn't use it. We would definitely stop here again if in the area.

Absaroka Bay RV Park was OK for a stop to visit Cody and Yellowstone NP. The Park is tight for a big rig which is exacerbated by the "other" campers parking with their trucks and toads sticking out in the street. All of the connections worked but the sites were QUITE close... Parking of our toad was quite close, and the car had to be wedged across the front of our coach. The roads are paved but the sites are gravel and it gets a bit dusty with the morning and afternoon "changing of the guards".

We stayed here in a 45' RV, towing. The site, 76, easily accommodated our rig and toad. The site appears to be new, as the connection equipment and the fence dividing the sites all appeared new. All the connections worked flawlessly as did the Wifi, which was one of the best we've experienced. The staff was very friendly and escorted us to our site. The road departing the site was a little tight but navigable with a big rig. We will definitely return if in this area!!

This is the 3rd KOA built in the US. New owner is undertaking new "Big Rig" sites and other campground upgrades. The staff could not have been more helpful! When approaching the CG, the city had closed the road to the CG. I stopped and called the CG and was talked in via some different streets. (The KOA did not know the city had closed the street). They placed us in a Big Rig site that easily accommodated our 45' RV and toad. The sites can be a little close, but for an overnight stop or a few nights the CG worked well.

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and the park was full. The Park is well laid out with paved roads and gravel sites. The staff was very friendly and driving a 45 foot RV, we were given a very "easy to access" site. The sites are fairly spacious with very nice patios, ours had a swing, picnic table and fire pit. The site also had a large pot of blooming flowers which were watered daily (nice touch).

This park is a jewel. The price we paid was after a KOA Rewards deduction. The park is easy access from the interstate. The pads are long and level and very big rig friendly. The staff was very nice and when storms were threatening, they came around and advised all guests. Would definitely stay here again!

Driving a 45 Ft Class A I always appreciate wide paved streets, sweeping site entries, level paved sites with lots of space between sites. The grounds are neat with beautiful landscaping. The staff are very helpful and when I reported a water leak on the pressure relief valve it was repaired in 15 minutes! The park has a beautiful pool, a number of casitas on the golf course and a restaurant with a newly revamped menu. Being self-contained we did not use the restrooms, showers, or laundry.

The park is an older park that was done right! The surface is large pebbles as opposed to gravel, thus little dust when driving! The staff was very friendly and made sure we had a site that could accommodate a 45 foot Class A that was towing! They have a large, clean, fenced in dog run. The Interstate is close but the noise is not excessive. If returning to this area we will certainly return!

When I made the reservation I reserved a Big Rig pull through site. The site we were assigned was terrible! There was an upslope to enter, I had to get out 3 times to ensure I didn't rip my Oasis exhaust off amidships! A trailer attempted to enter the site next to and was dragging so bad he left! The next morning I had to drop the toad to maneuver out on a one way street the wrong direction! To be fair they do have "some" nice sites... but if you are assigned to 2nd street with a Big Rig you're in trouble!

This is an older park that is in need of infrastructure upgrades. The roads are deteriorating as are the parking aprons. More problematic though is the park's managements disregard of the park rules for their full timers! Our 45 foot Class A filled our site so I was told to park our toad outside the entry gate in the over flow parking area. Full timers however had up to 3 vehicles parked around their rigs blocking the roads. We had to pull forward through 2 empty parking spaces to find a navigable path out of the park! We will look for another park in the future!

I would not return to this park! We stayed at a waterfront "super site". The sites are so close we could barely get our window awnings deployed. When walking from the car to the door, we had to turn sideways to clear the coach slide outs. The sites and roads are dirt/gravel and becomes a dust bowl every time a car or coach drives by! Parked on the water you have a great view of a series of dilapidated warehouses on the opposite shore. The good: the office staff was very friendly.

This is a fantastic park! Big rig friendly, beautiful sites, peaceful river setting, friendliest staff. We can't recommend this place enough! We spent 10 nights here and reluctantly departed!

This campground is certainly not a "destination"... but if you need an overnight stop it's great! Nothing more than many narrow pull through and adjacent strips of grass but it is easy-off/easy-on stop. There is also a fueling station right at the entrance thus very easy to top off the tank before proceeding. BTW, the WiFi only works if you park near hotel laundry building... or you can do what I did and walk your laptop up to the building to get the mail.

Rushmore Shadows is a great campground!! I did a lot of research before selecting this place and frankly, after driving past the other campgrounds in the area, we certainly selected the right one! The campground is very clean and meticulously maintained. The staff were friendly and when we had an emergency with our dog, they were able to help me get him into a great area Vet! We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Nice campground with great staff! The campground is very convenient to the interstate but far enough away to be quiet. The staff/owner is great! When I inquired on a service station that could come give my toad a jump (battery died while being towed), the owner showed up with his vehicle and jumper cables!! Will definitely stay here again!!
