Distant Drums RV Resort, Camp Verde, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2007 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Real nice place. The sites are paved and landscaped, although they could be a bit larger. Staff very helpful. Only caveat: the exercise room is NOT air conditioned. Fan and open window is your "AC." Heat from laundry room next door aggravates the problem. We camped at Distant Drums RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy in and out; owner very helpful. Wi-Fi signal good, although Wi-Fi only available for a few hours in the morning and evening. Interesting area and both T-Mobile and VZN wireless signals were good. We camped at Cactus RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great place, I concur with the previous comments. Only downside is what the visitors (read long termers) are doing to the resort, i.e., going to work and leaving a barking dog tied up outside. Park owner has doggy drop trash containers located at the end of every street, yet you'll find dog crap not picked up. Banning dogs from campground would be a positive step. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pioneer Beach Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2007 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Pleasant campground, just yards from the Gulf. Beaches are not pristine in this area; tons of washed up seaweed not yet cleaned up. Our perspective is this: The beaches are not taken care of; dogs crap on them, the drunks leave their beer can trash, and driving on them should be stopped. As far as Pioneer is concerned; watch where you step!!! No dog scooping done here! Quiet time at nite not enforced. We camped at Pioneer Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

Camp America Campground, Salem, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and well maintained. Free Wi-Fi, better signal at some sites than others. Pool, level sites, shady sites with long pull thru's. 50A available, far enough from I90 so no freeway noise. Very clean restrooms, and owners are very amiable. We've been here before, and will return. We camped at Camp America Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
