Northlake RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here two nights while in Houston on business. Arrived after office hours, but the security guy was there and opened the gate for us. Our data package was on the door; security brought it to us and directed us to our site, so I didn't even have to get out of the MH to check in. Went to the office the next morning and paid for another day. Everything worked great. Very good hookup locations, just a few feet from the MH site so I didn't have to unroll all my electric cord or water hose. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. Sites are all concrete and level. It's a bit pricey, but that's what I expect in Houston. Some reviewers have complained about train noise. I heard the train, but it doesn't bother me. I have to make another visit to Houston in the near future, and will stay here again. We camped at Northlake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The Barnyard RV Park, Lexington, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

This was the first time we have stayed at this park. I found it easy to get to from I-20, and easy enough to get back on I-20 the next day. Signs for entry to park are a bit confusing; I think I came in the wrong entrance and had to drive through the flea market area and back out onto a street, and take the next turn-in. Luckily, there was little to no traffic in the flea market area, even though it was on a Friday afternoon.

The camping spot was dirt and grass, but was solid, even though there had been a good bit of rain recently. No problems getting in and out, and there was plenty of room without unhooking the towed car.

We will stay here again. We camped at The Barnyard RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camping World - Good Sam Campground of Oxford, Anniston, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Second time I have stayed here for an overnight while traveling I-20. Park is easy to get to, and the office staff is always very courteous and helpful. Most sites are pull-thru, with enough room for towed car without having to unhook. Sites and roads are well-maintained gravel. We camped at Camping World - Good Sam Campground of Oxford in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

I have stayed in this campground several times, and always enjoy it. Easy access to/from I-20. Some of the camping spots are not as level as I would like, but I've always been able to get the rig level enough for an overnight stay. I will stop here again. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.

TA Travel Center , Greenwood, Louisiana

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Didn't use the facilities much as it was raining while we were here. We arrived relatively late in the day, but the manager was expecting us and met us at the office to check in. He escorted us to our site, even though I offered to find it myself so he wouldn't have to get wet.

I found this to be an excellent overnight stop, with easy in and out from I-20. I didn't have to unhook our towed car, and there was plenty of room for our slideouts. The parking spot was level concrete; all utilities worked well. I will stay here again. We camped at TA Travel Center in a Motorhome.

Sleepy Hollow RV Park, Laurel, Mississippi

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I can't say enough about the good people at this park. I injured my shoulder and couldn't drive for 30 days. The manager and his maintenance worker helped me with everything I needed to do -- hooking up/unhooking my car, connecting utilities, bringing UPS packages to me so I didn't have to walk to the office to get them.

Besides being an excellent, well-maintained park, the folks who run it are super. I will definitely stay here again when passing thru the area. We camped at Sleepy Hollow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Whispering Oaks RV Resort, Greenville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Spent three weeks here, visiting family who are ECU faculty. This park has excellent water, sewer, and electric hookups; no other facilities. Price seems a bit steep, but since it's about the only place available in Greenville, we were happy to pay it. The weekly and monthly rates are discounted from the daily rate quoted above.
The park owners made every effort to accommodate us. Even though we were first told that there was no space available for our first weekend, they offered to provide a parking space with electric and water; we would have to have used the dump station. We agreed to take that. Then they had a last-minute cancellation, so we got a full hookup site by the lake. This is a beautiful area, and very quiet. Will definitely try to get a space here on our next visit to Greenville. We camped at Whispering Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sunset Travel Park, Cottondale, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night in the section down the road from the office. Sites are level and plenty long for 36' MH towing a CR-V. While this park is nothing fancy, it had everything I needed and is easy off/on I-20. I will certainly stay here again if passing thru at a good stopping time. We camped at Sunset Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Little Elm RV Park LLC, Laverne, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Small park (13 spaces), all long pull-thrus with excellent space between sites. At the time of our stay, only one space was available, but it was excellent with 50 amp electric and large shade trees. The owner was very helpful -- I was visiting an area where I lived more than 50 years ago. Turns out he and I used to ride the same school bus. He gave me detailed information, which was 100% accurate, about the place I had lived. If you need to visit Laverne, I recommend this park! No pool or playground, no bath house, but everything I needed. We camped at Little Elm RV Park LLC in a Motorhome.

Whitney Lane RV Park, Kensett, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I called on the phone and the owner said that if he wasn't there when I arrived, just pick a spot. I did. When he came by later to collect, we got to talking and he took me on a tour of all his property. Very friendly and helpful. This park had everything I needed for my short stay. It would have been nice to have WiFi, but not available. Otherwise, what more could you ask for? I will stay here again if in this area. We camped at Whitney Lane RV Park in a Motorhome.

Port of Newport RV Park, Newport, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived without a reservation, but was able to get a site. I paid for one night. I was ill on the planned day of departure, so I called the office and they initially told me that we would probably have to move to another site, as the space I was in was booked for that night. However, they were able to contact the person who had the booking, and that person agreed to take another site, so I didn't have to move. I feel that the folks in the office here went above and beyond what was required or even expected. I didn't even have to go to the office to pay for the additional day; they let me pay the next day before we departed.

I can't say enough good things about this park -- it had everything I needed, and the service was superior. We had beautiful views of the bay and the bridge, great dog-walking area, and the marina store was near our site. I heartily recommend this park as a stopover or destination for a longer vacation. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pacific Border RV Park, Surrey, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived without a reservation and saw the "No Vacancy" sign at the gate, after I had turned in. The manager came out and asked if she could help me. I told her I just needed to turn around and get out since they didn't have space. She said they might be able to accommodate me. Long story short, they parked us for the night, with an electric hookup, on the end of a parking row. Next day, we got a full hookup spot. We intended to stay for three days, but extended to five to take advantage of their good WiFi to Skype with our grandson on his birthday. All facilities we used were excellent, and we could not have been treated any better. The folks running this park did everything in their power to make sure we had a place to stay that first night, and rearranged reservations to make sure we had space for the next four nights. They could give lessons on how to run a park. If I ever go back to the Vancouver area, this is where I want to stay. We camped at Pacific Border RV Park in a Motorhome.

Glenwood Canyon Resort, Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We were here just for an overnight stay, and this campground was excellent for that. Pretty expensive, but what a view! We were in the "upper" area for larger rigs. Our site was level and easy to setup in. I did have to use two lengths of sewer hose to reach the connection, but that's why I carry two sections. I would stay here again of passing thru this area. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Goodland KOA, Goodland, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Good campground for an overnight stay. The owner loaned me a ladder so I could secure my awning which was trying to unroll in the Kansas wind. WiFi did not work at the campsites, but we were told that it would work near the office. The only negative I have about this campground is that there are a lot of goatheads (stickers) that my dogs got into (and that got into me when I was pulling them from the dogs' feet). I would stay here again if passing thru this area. We camped at Goodland KOA in a Motorhome.
