LaPlace Trailer & RV Park LLC, La Place, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I always like to judge a park for myself, but will never again ignore the reviews of other campers on this site. I have learned my lesson. I would give this park a MINUS 5 if the rating was available. We travel 10 months out of the year, have stayed in many RV parks (good and bad) but I can honestly say that this is the first park on our list we will never return to. There are multiple reasons but the main ones are the rudeness of the hosts. They were very condescending and treated us like we were criminals. The long check in process that includes every license plate on your rig (which is not a problem), but then they want everyone's driver license that is staying in the RV and make copies of them. That is an IDENTITY THEFT ALERT. They can trace you through license plate numbers. Your drivers license is not needed and provides to much info (ie. DOB), nor do you need the copies of your personal info to be floating around. After you complete this long process that includes the hostess "reading the rules to you", you are escorted to your assigned site (no,you don't get to look first). Then they tell you where to park on the site, so the sewer is UNDERNEATH, and watch you crawl under to hook it up. I highly recommend that you choose a truck stop or a parking lot before staying here. The other reviewers pegged it. We camped at LaPlace Trailer & RV Park LLC in a Motorhome.

Pat Kelley RV Park, West Helena, Arkansas

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We travel a lot for business and found this park via the internet. The owners are extremely nice, pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately this park has seen better days and needs updating. There is a run down MHP behind the campground that must be accessed through the campground so there is a lot of through traffic. They do not have bathrooms, showers, or laundry facilities. The garbage dumpster is a long distance away behind the MHP. The plus side is the sites are paved, with full hook-ups, and good water pressure even though the sites are narrow. Shopping is located within a couple miles and the casino in Lulu, MS is approximtely seven miles away. We camped at Pat Kelley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Perkins RV Park, Jonesboro, Arkansas

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Park is located with easy on and off Hwy access but does have a lot of traffic noise. Sites are level and have good drainage, but narrow. They do not have any showers, bathrooms or laundry on site. There are many permanent RV'ers living on the premises who are very friendly. The owner is helpful and very nice. The park is conveniently located near many stores and restaurants so you can shop and eat until you drop. BYOB as it is a dry county. We camped at Perkins RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maxie's Campground, Broussard, Louisiana

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The majority of sites in this park are level and under large shade trees. Most of the sites are narrow though. Cable is available for long term stays and you must sign up for the service yourself. Wi-Fi is readily available at an additional charge. The owner is very nice and keeps the park well maintained. The laundry facilities feature commercial front loading washers in a variety of sizes and large commercial dryers that are very efficient. Shopping is located within a mile. The park is right next to a major highway, so there is a lot of traffic noise. We would stay there again. We camped at Maxie's Campground in a Motorhome.

Rolling Hills RV Resort, Pollock, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I used map quest to locate this park and the directions took us about 13 miles south of their location. It was late evening and the manager was very happy to give us the correct location and guide us in. The park is small with many full timers in residence who are friendly. The sites are gravel and not level. They have a small laundry room. No shower and bathroom facilities. We stayed a week and have been back for overnights a couple times. There are small IGA's nearby, but major shopping is several miles away. If your looking for a quiet, friendly place just to get away, this is it. Also if you like cocktail hour, bring your own as this is another dry county. We camped at Rolling Hills RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Wagon Circle RV park, Heber Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This a clean, quiet park with large, grassy sites. There are shade trees behind each site. Anywhere you park you will get sun most of the day. Many of the sites are not level and some have poor drainage when it rains. The owners are very nice and all the facilities (bathrooms, showers and laundry) are very clean and modern. There is a small fishing dock along the Red River. If you need to shop, the stores are several miles from the park but it is a scenic drive. We would visit again. We camped at Wagon Circle RV park in a Motorhome.
