Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Although we were right by the playground (and don't have kids), we really enjoyed this campground. Lots of partying on weekends but quiet during the week. Wonderful views of the water. Great big and private site. Water is in a bit of an awkward location but what the heck. Well maintained and cleaned properly between campers. Close to a great dog park and beach. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Motorhome.

Calhoun A-KO Campground (formerly Calhoun KOA), Calhoun, Georgia

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rainy, rainy night so things were muddy but this campground was just fine. Loved the sound of the peacocks. Nice warm cookies delivered by Hostess on our arrival. We didn't feel like venturing out or cooking so we ordered the Park specials of chicken wings and pizza delivered to our camper. Can't beat that type of service! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at Calhoun A-KO Campground (formerly Calhoun KOA) in a Motorhome.

Red Coconut RV Resort, Fort Myers Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Small sites, washrooms were sandy, others walked right through our site, you MUST be parked by an attendant (and give up all of your thinking mind because he knows what he's doing), check-in person was a little surly... but...RIGHT at the beach! We walked to restaurants, enjoyed the beach with the dogs, great view of the New Years fireworks. You can't beat that. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Koreshan State Historic Site, Estero, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Close to shopping and restaurants. Very "woodsy" sites. Not well cleaned between stays. Lots of bugs. Very small sites. Clean washrooms but they seemed "closed for cleaning" an awful lot. Would not return. We camped at Koreshan State Historic Site in a Motorhome.

Very nice. Our site faced the beach. Clean restrooms. The little restaurant up the beach was closed - what a shame. Not much to do in the area. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Manatee Hammock Campground, Titusville, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We had stayed here two years prior and were disappointed when we returned. The area in general and the campground specifically were more rundown. Infested with noseeums. Lots of fulltime residents and older folks. Will not return. We camped at Manatee Hammock Campground in a Motorhome.
