I give it a 5 because I will blame the heat for some of the misery I felt, after all it was 105 degrees. The staff was not the friendliest, one of the caretakers yelled at me about something and said "I told you about this yesterday", the irony is I had just arrived to the campground that day so I still have not idea what he was talking about. We had some loud rowdy neighbors that were up until about 3 a.m. and nobody shut them down. It was an ok stay but I will probably not stay at this campground again.

This park was wonderful. It was well landscaped and had activities for the whole family. The facilities were very clean and the staff was exceptionally friendly. The park is located in the middle of the city with every and any convenience nearby. When you are in the park you forget that you are in the city except for some nearby freeway noise. The noise is not terribly bad but enough to rate the park a 9 instead of 10. I would absolutely be staying at the Chula Vista KOA many times in the years to come.

Overall this is a great place for the family to camp out. The staff was very friendly both at check in and throughout the park including the conveniance store and boat rental staff. The bathrooms were ok. The area we stayed in only had one shower in it, however if you are at the lake you can plan ahead and take a shower near the marina there are about 6 showers there, the showers cost 75 cents for 5 minutes. The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner but it was a holiday weekend and I am sure there were more people then usual. The marina store has everything you could possibly need. There is a little snack shop in the marina as well. There is a water park within the campgrounds but there is a fee for daily use. There is also a swimming area at the lake for the family and watercrafts are welcome at the lake. All in all it is a great place for camping. I would have rated it a 10 but the lack of showers and the not as clean as I would like restrooms brought the rating down.

I was very impressed with this campground. I truly believe this place has something for everyone. Santee lakes has swimming pools, toddler parks, and nice fishing spots. My wife loved it and so did my two year old. Staff was very kind, and all the facilities are very clean. We will be staying here time and time again.

Campland was ok, it had many amenities for a family to enjoy and the restroom/showers were clean. However, for the price I have been at better places. The site was very small, you were literally bumping into your neighbor. The place is very noisy so do not expect peace and quiet. The crows will be sure and wake you up every morning bright and early. I do not believe I will be staying here again.
