We stayed here 2 nights as a home base for visiting the Carlsbad Caverns. I would have to say the caverns are the best we have visited and really enjoyed the self guided tour with the audio box. We reserved a space due to being 43' long. There were only 4 spaces available 2 days before we arrived that would accommodate our RV, the online fee is an additional $8. Very nice campground with very nice hosts. We had a car hauler that they directed us to park in the space by their site. Wish they had sewer at more sites, but we were able to easily dump at the dump station before we reattached the car hauler. Not to sure what large grate the previous poster had to remove. There is a simple step on cap located between the 2 entrances. They must have missed that. Also. the small moth like bugs were very annoying and a week later we are still finding them flying around in our RV. But we were in a park and we were camping. I would rather deals with nature than be parked in the city at one of the other campgrounds we found while visiting Carlsbad.

We stayed here the week before Sturgis Bike Week. The campground was only 1/3 to 1/2 full for the 5 days we were here. This campground was very quiet even though it is located right beside highway SD 385. The showers and bathrooms were very clean. The laundry area was clean and the machines worked well for us. The Wi-Fi worked very good from our campsite. The landscaping was neat and the grass was kept cut. Some of the tent sites had a shelter and electric available at the site. There seemed to be plenty of room between each site and the roadway within the campground. The roadway is dirt and gravel with no sharp bends for even the longest of rigs. There is a restaurant/saloon combined with the campground office. They closed by 10:00 on the weekends and were closed when we arrived back at the campground at 9:30 on Monday night. Hence no loud music or other distractions at night. If you are in the area to go 4x4 wheeling or quad/ side by side, trail riding in the National Forest, you can do so right from the campground. Quads never need to even go on the road to access the trails & Jeeps or other 4x4 road legal vehicles can do so with out ever going off the dirt roads to access some minor or difficult trails. There is a gas station about 1/4 mile south of the campground that has a convenience store/gas/& air. We stayed here in a tent, but would have no problem bringing our motor home here if were ever in the area again. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in the winter of 2012 for 3+ months. The management are very friendly & helpful for just about any need that may arise, RV related or not. There are a lot of snowbirds that stay here each year. They are very friendly & welcoming. There are a lot of activities going on through out winter while we were here. We did not participate in them, we were here to work in the local area & just didn't have the time. They also have a few recently remodeled park models that are for rent. My brother & his wife rented one for a week. The price was right & the unit was comfortable. There is a rails to trails bike/walk/run/horse riding trail within 1 mile of the RV resort that I rode almost every day I could. This area is a great place to kayak, there are some of the best places in FL with in a 30 min drive. If we are ever back in this area we would definitely stay here again. Price reflects monthly rate for choice space.
