Charlie Brown Campground, Eastford, Connecticut

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a well kept, clean, well run campground on a stream that is fishable, the owners turn themselves inside out to make your visit a great one. There are some sites that surround a pavillion that has a fire pit in the middle and there are about 4 or 5 of these pavillions and then MANY more sites, some along the stream and some not. It is quiet even though they have lots of kids with parents there. I have come to this campground at least once a year and sometimes more since about 2008 and maybe before that. We camped at Charlie Brown Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are some good restaurants, liquor store, Walmart and other stores within 5 - 10 or so miles, Putnam CT the antique capital of Northeast , is not far away. Lots of colonial homes and farms etc. IF you like a campground that is NOT owned by a conglomerate, owned by a family, this is the place where you can park your RV, let the kids out and know they are safe and having a good time.

Normandy Farms, Foxboro, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is an expensive park however, you get a lot for your money if you use these things such as hot tubs and activities for the kids. Beautiful surroundings, great sites and level. There really is nothing missing here. Lots of swimming pools and game fields etc. We camped at Normandy Farms in a Fifth Wheel.

Seaport RV Resort, Old Mystic, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

The only reason I rate it a 3 star in cleanliness is that the trash was NEVER emptied from the Pavillion we used, and the public dumpsters were so full one could not throw your bags of trash away without them falling on the ground. They were overflowing. I mentioned to the behind the desk staff who said she made a call to get it collected. It is a very pleasant stay other than that!!! We camped at Seaport RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Old Mystic and Mystic have many attractions, like the aquarium and museums and shopping. It is near the big casinos of CT, not far from Westerly RI. MANY good food spots!! Ocean is near by but not sure what is public and what is not. This campground has a GREAT pool for the kids, very clean and nice. Definitely will return and recommend to friends and family. Great place.

Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA, Jonestown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in at 4pm and left the next morning at about 7:30AM to drive onto North Carolina. I found the staff very helpful, the sites adequate and location great. Fueling for gas and diesel very near the campground. Campground is less than a 1/4 mile from RT 81 but no road noise heard at all. Store and restaurant interesting and nice. Front porch of the store has a few chairs to sit a while, have coffee etc. I would certainly go back. Lots of RVers use this as their first stop on way down south and last stop on way home to New England states like MA, ME,NH and VT. The only reason it did not get a 10 is that a 10 would be 50 amp and more modern and more upgrades but believe me this is a nice place to be. We camped at Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Huntington Beach State Park, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

GREAT location for sure. Pretty sites but even the "ocean front" are really not on the ocean or view but you must walk through dunes on wooden walkway to get to the ocean but that ocean is gorgeous. The drive in road separates the salt water march from fresh water. Alligators are there, as are egrets and blue herons. Great trails to hike and bike. Across Rt 17 is the Brookgreen Botanical Gardens and small zoo. Amazing place. Better than being in Myrtle Beach campgrounds that are site on top of site, these sites are well placed and there is grass between sites and room to stretch. We recommend it and will be going back. We camped at Huntington Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
