Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Quail loop, down nearer to the river. The sites had plenty of room and it was very quiet. The campground got pretty busy but it was still not noisy. The host was available if needed; but not intrusive. I walked the dogs all over the park on trails and roads. Plenty of places to go. Unfortunately, many are not picking up after their pets adjacent to and within the campground. C'mon people!! Clean up after your dogs! We camped at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

South Forty RV Ranch (55+ Park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park - well situated for those who want to be in north Tucson, near shopping and the freeway. Sites are not as close as other parks. Access to some of the rows is a bit tight. We had to back up to get out because the sites across would not allow enough room but - it was no problem. The park staff was very nice and accommodating. They adjusted our stay length with no fuss. This park has dog runs (2) and they recommend walking your dog on the perimeter which worked for us. It was VERY QUIET here. I recommend it! We camped at South Forty RV Ranch (55+ Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park, Coalinga, California

Date of Stay: February, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is an easy-on/easy-off park for I-5. Owner very nice in returning our phone call to check on availability. Host shows you to the site and helps park. Re: pets - yes its pet friendly but too many people not picking up after their pets as I saw lots of poo on the grassy areas. Our site was fine if a bit muddy. We were able to get some digital stations at night (over air). Wi-Fi signal is good. Price was cash discount. We camped at Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a nice dog run - 4 sections (2 large/2 small) with green grass. Our dogs loved it! Otherwise its gravel and sand. Most folks were very good about picking up after their pets (and there were tons of dogs). Level sites. Unless you request it - they will put you near the entrance as its close to the casino (easy walk). Efficient check in. Park is very clean and also very quiet. I recommend it! Would give it a higher score if it had more landscaping but that's the desert for you. We camped at Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Casa Del Sol, Hemet, California

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park to be fairly quiet and the residents friendly. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. They had some suggested sites for us to try. There are some that have issues with slide outs. We have a 31-foot rig with 2 slides on one side and we were able to find a spot. The dog area was nice (2 small side-by-side pens). The pool and the spa look nice but we were too busy to take advantage (others were certainly using it). Convenient to shopping and restaurants. We camped at Casa Del Sol in a Fifth Wheel.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

They have an enclosed dog area as well as lots of places to walk the dogs. These folks know how to make you feel at home and they are very efficient. Donuts in the morning are popular (at the office)! We love coming here this time of year for the fresh oranges - YUMMO! Used the bathroom and shower. Not their fault but someone brushed their hair in the shower (ICK). Cleaning crew was waiting for me to leave so that issue was remedied I'm sure. We always stay here on trips though the area. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clio's Rivers Edge RV Park, Clio, California

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

What a wonderful park in the woods. The area is immaculate! Sites vary from gravel to those with patios. There are park models in some sites, but all are well-kept. When we arrived, I couldn't believe how quiet it was. The next day, more families arrived and kids enjoying the area livened up the place. A number of rigs arrived that knew each other. I LOVE the dog run - large, shaded, with a good secure 4 foot fence. Lots of waste bag dispensers and folks seem to get the hint. Access to the river is good, though its relatively low in August. Price depends on type of site. We camped at Clio's Rivers Edge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Dome Rock Mountain - BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

If you are looking for amenities - go to a real campground. This is boondocking at its best. You are close to all of the Quartzsite activities but far enough out to circle the wagons and enjoy your family and friends. There is a BLM host near the east end of the road available for info. Lots of places to choose from. Be careful about parking where you have to cross a wash - there have been bad rains here in the past that have caused washouts and you may not get back out. Minimal tv reception but who cares. We camped at Dome Rock Mountain - BLM in a Fifth Wheel.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $33.00

We love this park and stay here when we can on our journeys through. Its farther away from the train noises than others. The orange trees are a novelty - you can pick the Valencias Jan - March. Sites are level but dirt, which is ok. Great tv, wifi is very good. I haven't been into the Lodge area but the office/cafe is bustling in the morning with free coffee and the biggest doughnuts I've ever seen. The restrooms are VERY clean! Great park. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Willamette Wine Country RV Park (monthly only), Dayton, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We wanted to stay another night in the area but the park near to the Evergreen museum was booked. I put in a reservation request that night to Willamette Wine Country and promptly the next morning, received a call from them -- confirming a site for us. I thought the park was nice. Lots of places to walk your dogs. Staff was really nice and efficient at check in. We were pleased with the location. I didn't notice any smells from the ponds. There is traffic noise as you are close to the road but, it was consistent so not bothersome. We camped at Willamette Wine Country RV Park (monthly only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Seven Feathers RV Park, Canyonville, Oregon

With Players Club discount. We have stayed here before and this park just gets better and better! Now the trees have grown, providing more shade. The flowers are awesome and pretty. I can't say enough about how GREAT this place is. This should be a model for all other parks!! The staff is friendly and efficient. They show you to your site. Sites have lush vegetation and grass. The sites are set up well for all kinds of RVs. LOVE IT!! Shuttle is there in a minute to take you to the casino if you want. No traffic noise at all. We camped at Seven Feathers RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bakersfield River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, California

We stayed here as we needed to access some of the stores in the vicinity. We usually stay at Orange Grove. We like the park except for the TRAIN noises but you will get that just about everywhere in Bakersfield. Otherwise - nice park, very clean. Pechanga RV Resort & Casino, Temecula, California

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

A wonderful park for ease of access, beauty, level sites, gorgeous pool and spa. Sites separated on the back with hedges, lots of grass area for each site. Access to laundry 24 hours. While its "pet friendly" - I have a complaint about the fenced pet area. Its not secure for small to medium dogs as the fence is too high off the ground and the slats too wide. Otherwise - its clean as a whistle (no poo) which is remarkable. Everyone seemed to mind their doggie manners (leashes, no barking). I really recommend this as a destination or a stop over. Temecula is a great town (old town) and great wineries. We camped at Pechanga RV Resort & Casino in a Fifth Wheel.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: January, 2010 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We camp here all the time on our way through. Great park, friendly staff. Discount for cash/check. The usual discounts for AAA/Good Sam. Only comment has nothing to do with the park - the trains can be heard from here (though not as bad as other parks) and the street side of the park gets truck traffic so, if you are particularly sensitive to noise - you may have to get to Tehachapi or other locations. Pet friendly - lots of places to walk dogs. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
