VRV (formerly Vinton RV Park), Vinton, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Plenty of trees and grass (TV dish won't work). Sites spaced fairly close together. OK for overnight but no reason to stay. Restroom filthy; two of three toilets plugged and overflowing. Trash on floor with containers overflowing. Probable excuse was that this was Easter Good Friday night. We camped at VRV (formerly Vinton RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Caverns of Sonora RV Park, Sonora, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty far from freeway but worth it. This is a real sleeper: pun intended. Pretty place with oak trees. We did not visit the caverns, only overnighted. Restrooms were basic but clean. No restaurant. We camped at Caverns of Sonora RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fairview Riverside State Park, Madisonville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Out of dozens of outstanding campgrounds visited all over country, this is the finest yet. Large park with grass and trees, all manicured, and paved, level roads and sites with generous separation. We are in 24 foot motorhome. Chose site nearest river with excellent view. Restrooms are super clean with individual dressing stalls with shower. Good laundry. Area is an upscale bedroom community for New Orleans--everything you need is available nearby. We camped at Fairview Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.
