Goodland KOA, Goodland, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A great stopover KOA, or even longer as we did for 5 nights, at a very nice park with a new owner who hopes to make it even better. Facilities are clean, owner pleasant and ambitious, well manicured sites and grounds. Ample of cable channels, WiFi overall good, a bit persnickety at times, but very tolerable. Clean pool, mini golf all great. We camped at Goodland KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tequilas had good Mexican food and we enjoyed lunch at Butterfly Cafe @ Goodland airport. Pizza Hut within 10 minute walk thru a side road. Wife had to make unexpected visit to walk in clinic at hospital for minor ailment, fairly priced and decent folk if a need arises.

Wagon Master RV Park, Sanger, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Great park 5 minutes from i35. Numerous perms, but all well manicured. 60s loop might be tough in the Summer sans shade. Alpaca area and two pups who watch them are the big draw. Att and Vz average strength. WiFi excellent strength. Numerous TV stations from DFW market. Smaller pool, small community bldg. Would recommend. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Leander / NW Austin KOA, Leander, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Long pull throughs. Friendly staff. Very clean facilities. WiFi fairly decent most times. Park has a few seasonals that are well kept. Easy access to toll road 183 and only 5 mins to park/ride bus-train station into Austin. Propane available. Not a lot of trees for summer Rvers. Pool/hot tub cleaned daily, but closed til April 1st. Huh? No cable is a drawback. Not a very scenic locale; more of a functional park for those tending to business or family in north Austin and northwest suburbs. Worth a visit. Our rate was based upon monthly stay. We camped at Leander / NW Austin KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Forest RV Park, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based upon monthly stay. Probably the nicest all around RV park in Austin area. Restrooms/showers immaculate. Wi-Fi OK most of time, slower during higher demand times. Easy pull throughs. Pool/hot tub great, open all year. Nice office library, staff helpful. Took a point off for no change for laundry (have to go to car wash), Wi-Fi antenna needs to be mounted higher, no propane available. We camped at Oak Forest RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Twelve Oaks RV Park, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

A fine stay for most sized rigs, however, I believe they are a bit embellishing their "big rig" friendliness. It is not a friendly layout to get a dual rear axle coach plus toad parked. Spaces long enough, just access difficult. No CG store, supplies or propane. One toilet/shower for entire campground. Not much to do real near place, Wal-Mart though is close. They continue to make improvements, but just a "meh" place for us. We camped at Twelve Oaks RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lakeside RV Park, Livingston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Jewel of a park 1 mile south off I-12. Everything as nice as could be, including long, concrete pull-throughs. Docked a point for no cable (all be it possibly not available by provider) as well as not honoring Passport America for overnight pull-throughs. Very impressive setting. We camped at Lakeside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake City Campground & Resort, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

If you love rules, you will rate it a 10. We are full timers and have never seen the like of it in our travels. Surprised there wasn't a quiz for us in the morning. Owner charged me $3 electric surcharge because I arrived 4 hours early, although I agreed to leave in their normal 20 hour check in/out time span. I have been metered before at less than $3 PER DAY; this was for 4 hrs of having a TV on. Micromanagement extraordinaire here! If you get pass the office guru, the campground will serve you well. Wi-Fi fine, Cable overall fairly weak. Office closes 10am-4pm. Easy access to I-10. Will not return. We camped at Lake City Campground & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Raleigh Oaks RV Resort, Four Oaks, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $23.00

Took advantage of stay 2, get 1 night free. Great team of folks, very cordial and helpful. Free waffle breakfast was very good. Great cable and Wi-Fi. Very clean facilities. Well cared for sites, they inspect each one and clean them up upon a camper's departure. Nice long sites, pretty level. Very peaceful and quiet toward back of property, otherwise some road noise, depending on wind. Nice walking trail in back of property. Highly recommended. We camped at Raleigh Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Americamps RV Resort (formerly Richmond North / Americamps KOA), Ashland, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Price with KOA discount. Very spacious sites, easily occupying all of the rock star coaches and their toads rolling in. Some noise from I-95. Price a bit high for off season. Wi-Fi a bit temperamental. Nice store/RV supplies in office. Escort to your site, which is nice. Treed setting. Would return. Friendly staff, clean showers with ample hot water. Cherry Hill Park, College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

They make it easy to see DC from the park. Bus/train into town will run you about $11 total round trip, beats the drive as DC I-495 is horrendous. Nice laundry, fair priced cafe, long pull throughs, good cable. Wi-Fi temperamental with wife's laptop, fine with mine. Restroom toilet paper is the eco friendly type, pretty much onion skinned. Some noise at night. Cherry Hill Rd VERY BUSY as you pull out, either direction. No weekly price either, so that is drawback. We camped at Cherry Hill Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Rate based upon 4 night stay, no discounts, off season. EXCELLENT overall, just disappointed when they park units side by side when there are plenty of spaces available. Otherwise, pleasurable. Strong Wi-Fi. Shuttle runs weekends only off season. Immaculate restrooms. Nice store. Very friendly arrival staff. We camped at Hersheypark Camping Resort (formerly Hershey Highmeadow Campground) in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts Yogi at Shangri-La, Milton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Entry off main road is bumpy and narrow. We were given a pull-through but were routed wrong on their map, so we had to perform a backing maneuver. Other than those, the campground is fine. Wi-Fi is strong. Laundry room is clean. Nice selection in store of food and RV supplies. There is a lot of shade, if desired. It is VERY BUSY on weekends, but empties out Sun. Rate is based on 1 week stay, using PA discounts 5 nites and regular rate 2 nites. Pools were closed already. Fire rings and picnic tables were at each site. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts Yogi at Shangri-La in a Fifth Wheel.

The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone, Verona, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

I don't pass out "10s" very often, but this one merits it. Nice wide and longs sites. Bathrooms immaculate. STRONG Wi-Fi. A first in our 6 mos of full-time travel, a garbage can at every site. Nice assortment of RV supplies inside office. Shuttle on demand to casino. Nice and shady. Very deserving of its top rating, nothing left to be desired at this RV park. Well done Turning Stone! We camped at The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone in a Fifth Wheel.

Skyline Camping Resort & RV Sales, Darien Center, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based upon week's stay. 90% seasonal. "F" and "G" streets is one area for over nighters. Spaces wide, but turn out to road is 90 degrees, so not ideal for big rigs. Large rv sales/service, seemed competent folks. Plenty of shade. Brand new utility in "F" and "G" area, which was nice. About 6 local TV stations. Did not like: 1) Pool closed post Labor Day when temps in 80s 2) Pay showers 3) Only 3 pull thru options that we could decipher 4) Very weak WiFi signal, but excellent near main bldgs, told they were working on it. Would stay again. We camped at Skyline Camping Resort & RV Sales in a Fifth Wheel.

Evergreen Lake Park, Conneaut, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Rate based on week stay. WiFi 3rd party, $2 per day, very marginal, in and out. Large pull throughs that can handle big rigs, but ONLY water/electric. Many seasonals. Helpful staff that can do some RV service, and there is a big supply of RV parts. On holiday weekends, insufficient number of showers/toilets, if needed. Easy access to I-90, 4 blocks to Kmart for supplies, walking distance. Great CG for short timers. We camped at Evergreen Lake Park in a Fifth Wheel.
