Hitchin Post Corral and Campground, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Our second stay. Owners live on site and are very friendly. Made sure we knew about the blackberries that were ready to pick. They continue to improve the property. This is a good place for a night or two. The primary downside is the pull through sites are close to the interstate. The dog parks were a plus. We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake City Campground & Resort, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Short distance from I-10. Site was 70 feet, mixed grass and asphalt. Was able to pick up Dish but had to pull to front of site to clear the tree as our dish is towards mid-coach. Campground was quiet. Would stay here again when traveling through. We camped at Lake City Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

Philadelphia / West Chester KOA, Coatesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

The campground was well kept and sites were spacious, however our site was not very level. Price seemed very high considering it was not that close to Philadelphia. Will look for other alternatives if ever in the area again. We camped at Philadelphia / West Chester KOA in a Motorhome.

Belden Hill Campground, Harpursville, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet spot to break your trip. Mostly seasonal, but everyone kept their sites very neat. Several ponds, one with a swimming area. The "overnight" sites were long pull thrus. Ours had 50 amps and accommodated our 43 ft motorhome and full size pickup without disconnecting.

The highway approaching the campsite was in poor condition. We camped at Belden Hill Campground in a Motorhome.

Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Flamingo Lake 1-2 times a year, usually for 2-3 months at a time. The first couple of years I rated the campground a 10, but the last 2 years have seen an increased number of full time residents. The section of the campground near the interstate looks more like a trailer park than camping resort. The resort has increased kid activities, adding some water equipment for climbing and sliding, however they have a daily charge for use. They are also now charging a fee for camper's guests to even enter the campground during the summer months. The lake and swim areas are nice and there is a cafe on the grounds. The rate reflects a monthly fee. We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Luxury RV Resort, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is based on weekly rate. While "luxury" is a bit of an overstatement, this is a very nice facility well worth the rate. The facility is well maintained and the staff friendly. We were In a large, level spot that accommodated our 45er with room to spare. We enjoyed being a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. There are lots of none beach activities in the area as well with nice paved walking/biking trails in Gulf State Park. We also enjoyed a morning leisurely kayaking in the delta with 5 Rivers Safari based in Spanish Fort. We camped at Luxury RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Big Oak RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Big Oak is aptly named. There are a number of large live oaks providing shade. Of course the beautiful trees prevent satellite reception. They have sites that accommodate a 45er. Short distance from I-10 so good for over night stop. Quite a few seasonal/permanent residents. Check out Decent Pizza about 2.5 miles on the other side of I-10. Would overnight here again. We camped at Big Oak RV Park in a Motorhome.

Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second stay. Nice sites that are level and accommodate 45ers. Dean lake with two swimming beaches. The only negative is that one side of the park is near the interstate so there is traffic noise when you are outside. The low nightly rate reflects the monthly rate. We generally stay 2-3 months. Will definitely stay again. We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Twin Ponds, Flat Rock, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Older park appears to have many permanent residents. The best thing I can say is that the staff is very friendly. We called ahead to confirm they could handle a 45 ft with toad and were assured it would be no problem. The site could handle it but their roads are not big rig friendly. Would not bring in anything longer than 40 ft and recommend dropping your toad. We camped at Twin Ponds in a Motorhome.

Renfro Valley KOA, Mount Vernon, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, quiet campground. Big rig but tight for our 45 ft Motorhome. Could not get completely level. Hope to stay more than one night next time so we can take in some of the area attractions. We camped at Renfro Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Thorntree Lake Campground, Saint Paul, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Very peaceful. Park is about 30 years old so was a tight fit for our 45 foot motorhome. Owners are working on upgrading the sites. Everyone was very friendly. Not much in the way of entertainment for kids unless they like to fish or bring their own things to do. Nice state parks within an hours drive. Would stay again. We camped at Thorntree Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Leisure Lake Membership Resort, Joliet, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Nice facility geared toward annual membership. Good Sam and Passport America membership is accepted. They do not take reservations, but you should call ahead for space availability. Only negatives are interstate traffic noise and tall trees that blocked our dome satellite. Don't follow GPS directions, use the directions on their website. Plenty of space for our 45 foot RV with toad attached. Would stay again. We camped at Leisure Lake Membership Resort in a Motorhome.

Fine for overnight. Sites narrow, older facility. Able to accommodate our 43 ft coach. Has a fenced pet area. Could use a second dumpster. The one was overflowing by Sunday evening. We camped at Kansas City West / Lawrence KOA in a Motorhome.

Oakdale KOA, Oakdale, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Good overnight campground. Would not stay more than a couple of nights due to I-90 traffic noise. Site was a tight fit for our 44 coach towing a Jeep. Hosts very pleasant. Campground well maintained. Good water pressure, but weak WiFi at our site. Would stay again. We camped at Oakdale KOA in a Motorhome.

Limited big rig pullthroughs, so call ahead. We stayed overnight in 44' motorhome towing a Jeep. Site accommodated our rig. Older park with nice trees and large grassy areas. Would overnight again. Good water pressure. We camped at Lehman's Lakeside RV Resort in a Motorhome.
