Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort, Reedsport, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Yurts! I love staying in yurts and when I saw that Loon Lodge offered yurts for rental it was definitely the time for me to get out for a small weekend trip to Loon Lake. I drove from Portland and it was not a bad drive at all. When I got to the lodge, check in was smooth because I had made reservations in advance, about 3 months so I could get a yurt to myself. The lodge is also pet friendly which was great so that I could take my little corgi out to the woods for his enjoyment too! There is a small fee involved for pets but that was fine by me as long as I can have my best friend with me on this trip. The yurt had a trundle bed which was more than enough for my needs as I was only staying a night in order to recharge my batteries and be ready to take on the week! The yurt was equipped with a small fridge, microwave, and coffee pot which was pretty decent given that it was a yurt. Overall, things were clean and that was good. For a quick weekend jaunt, I would recommend Loon Lake Lodge to anyone! We camped at Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort in a Campground Cabin.

Yosemite Pines RV Resort & Family Lodging, Groveland, California

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

My husband, me, and our 2 kids decided to head out towards Yosemite for a long weekend of rest and relaxation. We usually go to Yosemite Pines for their RV site hookups because they offer a nice range of hookups and options, not to mention some great facilities for the kids. This time, we opted for a premium back in with full hookup and the price is pretty reasonable, in my honest opinion. One of the lovely parts of this resort is the location, it's pretty quiet and close to Yosemite National Park, where we explored for 2 days over the long weekend. We also opted not to drive to the National Park one day in order to take advantage of the various hiking trails that are near the resort, so that's another positive; there are plenty of things to do when we did not feel like venturing out very far. For example, my son just loved the petting zoo and he is still telling us about those awesome llamas! The swimming pool was a very nice feature and was very popular among the young families. The children's playground was a lifesaver when we were tired and just wanted our kids to venture to play somewhere! The convenience store was pretty great as well, because we forgot to pack a few things and with the general store right on the resort, we did not worry about a thing especially when my husband forgot to bring our toothpaste! Overall, my family and I had a blast and I would definitely recommend Yosemite Pines for any traveler. We camped at Yosemite Pines RV Resort & Family Lodging in a Motorhome.
