Cheraw State Park, Cheraw, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed at site 16 on the lake. Booked months ago to get a lake spot. This is still a gem of a park. Hiking/Biking trails are a little sad this time of year as they did a lot of forest burns over the winter. Restrooms are spotless. Campsite host keeps everything clean. Beautiful onsite golf course. 4 miles from Cheraw . Kids (age 10, 13, 14) love it here. Absolutely beautiful tall, tall trees. Highly recommend (and we are picky!) We camped at Cheraw State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here in a 26 foot travel trailer as we had a weekend soccer tournament 5 miles away. Check in was easy. Full hookups. There is 10 feet between each camper. No fires allowed of any kind. No open space for the kids to throw the football. More like a parking lot on a hill. Very close to I-40 so a lot of noise but convenient. Bathrooms were old but spotless. Game Room had a Foosball table and air hockey. Nothing else except cleaning supplies in the room. Convenient but nothing special. I do have to say we had a brake controller issue while there and called RV Truck and Auto Repair (recommended by owner). They came out on time (on a Saturday) and did not overcharge. Excellent service. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Chester State Park, Chester, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, small park State park. Few spots on the lake. We did rent a small row boat from the State park for $10/4 hours and the kids caught a small crappie. Nice quiet older campground but well maintained. Restrooms appeared to be cleaned twice daily. Nice family atmosphere if you want something peaceful. We camped at Chester State Park in a Travel Trailer.
