Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park), Prospect, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in the trees and has wonderful, level pads. The people are very friendly and helpful. We loved it here. About 45 minutes from Crater Lake, but this was the closest we could get. Unfortunately, we had several smoky days due to the fires but we still loved this park. No campfires allowed. I would definitely stay there again. We camped at Crater Lake RV Park (AKA Prospect RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

No laundry at park. You must drive about a half a mile toward Prospect for laundry. Gas, pizza, old hotel with gourmet, expensive food and a small store in Prospect. There is so much to do just on Hwy. 62 that we spent 2 days just hiking and doing that without even going into Crater Lake NP. Wonderful place.

Volcano Country Camping and RV, Mineral, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is in the trees and wonderful in that regard. Plus it is 9 miles from Lassen Volcanic National Park. The check-in person was NOT friendly but the store is nice and the restaurant was excellent. Good food and large portions-just don't get the cobbler. It is more like peach cake. Was weird. The park is a little neglected but that didn't bother us. The road in was rough. Once you pass the store and see the sign for the park, you are past the check-in area which is now at the store. The sign for the park is next to the post office and I believe this used to be the office. So you have to turn around, check in, turn around again and go into the park. A little bothersome but not too bad. Price was good. No amenities. Showers just ok and not updated. One shower and toilet. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.

This is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever stayed in. The people are friendly and the park was clean. It is beautiful and within walking distance to the caves. I would definitely stay there again. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Silver City RV Park, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We made reservations for two nights and paid for the first night months in advance but due to mechanical trouble we phoned to say we would be a day late. The manager said that he could accommodate us the next two nights. I paid with a credit card and was not informed that we would lose that $34.00 for that first night. I was told that our original sites were pull-thru but they were actually back in. Well, we lost that prepaid money. The manager put us in the "overflow" spots which were OK and less money but he never mentioned that we would lose our first night payment. I would have liked to have had more transparency and at least have had him acknowledge that we would not get that money put toward the next two nights. We camped there in two motor homes. We camped at Silver City RV Park in a Motorhome.
