Breezeway Trailer Park, Micco, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We reserved a month at a cost of $612. When we arrived we were disappointed to see that this was a park where people were living in RVs and there were only about 3 lots that were not occupied by permanent residents. This is always a disappointment because part of the fun of traveling is the meeting of other friendly travelers who are looking for the same experiences as us. When ever you pull into a 'trailerhood' you are an outsider. You have nothing in common with those people. There will be no camaraderie and you will be alone. When we were preparing to back in to lot #11, a man living on lot #13 came out of his trailer and started flying the birds (middle fingers) either at us, or at the people who we would be next to on lot #10. The sign language was a little disturbing. We got a site next to a couple who had their lot loaded with everything imaginable including about a dozen noise makers blowing in the wind. Since they were on our left side, they were on our headboard slide side. Every night we awoke with the clanging, banging, chiming, rattling and clinking of too many 'pleasing' sounds. The breeze was strong most of our stay. We cut our time there in half due to the noise and the fact that the location was just too far away from the beaches and other attractions. We were not given a refund in any amount as we had 'paid for a month'. It was worth leaving to go to a better place, and we did. We do not recommend this place. We camped at Breezeway Trailer Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bitner's RV Park, Spring City, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 months. We had cable wifi which was great. We had no problems with water, sewer or electric. Well, we did have a power outage but it was due to weather. The owner was prompt when it came time to pay the rent. A month was $350. Currently, they are adding a camp store with basic groceries, fishing bait and a snack bar. We camped at Bitner's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunshine Travel RV Resort, Vero Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

.We bought a new RV from Lazy Days. We were perked a 2 week stay at any Encore travel park so we chose this one. The lots are barely long enough for a 40' RV with a tow or towed vehicle. We had to park our truck under our RV and was still partly on the street. The width of the lots are 9' with no patio area. When we arrived we needed to have limbs and shrubs trimmed to get backed in far enough to try to make room for the truck. The workers arrived to do the job quickly, but did not remove the debris, rather just piled it on top of the palmettos that they did not cut. We had several power surges with outages. The sewer caps are so far back, that you may need a long sewer hose to reach. Some of the lots, though paved, are caved in which would make it a challenge to put your jacks down, or level if your wheels are in a hole. They had many empty lots but we were not given a choice. We were parked near the side of the interstate and could hear the traffic with our windows shut and the AC running. We camped at Sunshine Travel RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Lake Lodge, Okeechobee, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This park should be closed by the health department. Permanent campers drain waste water right on the ground. The laundry backs up the water pipes and over flows if too many people try to wash clothes. The old fashioned septic tank is not able to handle all the waste water that this park makes. Waste water goes on the ground and overflows. This place is just nasty. At least you can just walk across the street to get booze and gas. We camped at Big Lake Lodge in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not buy one of their 'permanent' campers without looking under the skirt first. Make sure it has all the plumbing hooked up.

Gracious RV Park, Okeechobee, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This park needs another entrance/exit as it would be easier getting a 40' coach in then out. The turns were okay on the way to our site. When leaving we had to take the same route back to the gate and got caught on a turn that had us inches from buildings on two opposite corners as we squeezed through. Unless they make another way in and out we just can't do that again. We camped at Gracious RV Park in a Motorhome.

Venture Out Resort, Cudjoe Key, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

No one has mentioned the bad aspects of this park.

When making your reservation, be sure you can completely fit on the lot you are renting. If your vehicle sits even a foot past the curb, you will need to put it in the storage lot for $4 a night. Some of the lots used to have old campers on them with Florida rooms. The concrete pad of the Florida rooms are left behind when they remove them to make an RV lot. The problem with this is, today's larger RVs are too wide to sit along side the patio and not hang over on to the neighbors lot line on the other side. Be sure to ask all these questions during your initial phone conversations.

If you are a boater, the locations is great! We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.

Gracious RV Park, Okeechobee, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park has a mixture of residents and transients. It is nice that they have boat docks for everyone at no additional cost. There is a new pool which will be open by spring. The water quality is poor and has taste, odor and color. You will want to buy potable water. It seems to be the norm for the area. The park sits next to the very busy road and traffic starts before 6 a.m. on weekdays. We camped at Gracious RV Park in a Motorhome.

Timberline Campground (formerly Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resor, Goodfield, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The trees are not kept trimmed to the standard 13' height where necessary. Pull thrus are not pull thrus if you can not pull thru because of limbs. Trees growing over roads in places are too low for todays modern 5th wheel and coach heights. The swimming pool is not kept sanitary. It is a cesspool most of the time and has been shut down due to contamination which sickened swimmers. The place has in ground holding tanks which have been filled to overflowing on the ground before being pumped out. We camped at Timberline Campground (formerly Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resor in a Motorhome.
