Ojibwa Recreation Area, Sand Point Lighthouse & Marina Campground, Baraga, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is off the road with sites along Lake Superior. Very quiet. Sites are grass with a shared electrical outlet box at most sites (two campers plug into one outlet pole). There is sand-bottom swimming near the lighthouse. We camped at Ojibwa Recreation Area, Sand Point Lighthouse & Marina Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Maverick RV Park, Lander, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are gravel with grass between sites, adequate space between sites with nice picnic table. Campground is quiet. Electric, sewer and water were as should be. Wifi was excellent. We camped at Maverick RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Near to everything in and around Lander, most notably Sinks Canyon and the hike to Popo Aggie Falls. Lander Bar and Brewery (excellent food and brews!) is within walking distance (0.9 mile).

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Loop D has FHU but you only want to get the sites that are back in on the far side. The first 2 rows are insanely close together, with one RV pulling-through one way, and the neighbor pulling through the other way, such that they have maybe one foot between their slide-outs. Terrible. We lucked out and got one of the back-in sites. We thought it was too expensive, but it is Page. We planned on going swimming, but somehow there is broken glass all over everywhere, which is hard to comprehend how it all got there since there are no partial bottles, so we skipped swimming and would recommend shoes if you choose to do so. We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Gateway River RV Park and Campground, Carbondale, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The campsites are close together but not ridiculously close. Gravel sites. We opted for the WE site, but there are FHU occupied by big rigs. Well maintained shower (although you have to hit the water button 20 times until it heats up). The max length for WE sites is 24 ft, and we are 24ft, there is a cliff behind these sites, so if you are longer and not careful.... We camped at Gateway River RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Coral Sands RV Park, Bluff, Utah

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is an RV park 'in progress' as they will build new bathrooms, showers, office bldg. sometime in future. There are 15 pull through sites full-hookup. Spacing for a commercial RV park is better than most, and some of the trees actually provide shade. At the time of our stay there was only one picnic table, but since only one 5th wheel was here besides us, that one table became ours. The sites are gravel and are level. We camped at Coral Sands RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bluff is 48 miles from Monument Valley, and Valley of Gods and Gooseneck SP are much closer. There is a visitor center in town, with a Fort Bluff mockup (free) with "re-enactors" in 1870 get-ups. If you have 4 wheel drive (we didn't) there is a dirt road that goes up to hoo-doos similar to Bryce Canyon. Ask the visitor center folks about the route (we were afraid to attempt in 2WD although they said it was doable - better safe than stuck out in the desert having to hike out).

Cheney State Park - East Shore, Cheney, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Although all the sites have 30 amp and 50 amp outlets, you are charged a premium for 50 amp even though we only used 30 amp. The site pads are gravel and dirt, which becomes slick mud and standing water when it rains. The view is limited insofar as it is a small reservoir. Sites are situated side by side with no intervening space. Not worth the price. We camped at Cheney State Park - East Shore in a Travel Trailer.

Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed there 3 years ago and the same potholes that were there then are still there. The pothole at the dump station was more like a crater. Areas of the camp road can flood, so that the trash bin is not accessible and people throw their trash onto the top from a distance (bad practice in grizzly bear habitat). The campground is Zanterra run under contract to NPS and is poorly maintained. Sites are crammed together. The campground requires "hard body" but tenters camp alongside RV'ers a few miles down the road in the NPS campground. NPS camp sites are water-only. The Madison NPS campground is much closer to the geysers, has large level sites, with good paved roads, for $8 (half Federal fee with Golden Age pass). We stayed at Fishing Bridge (for the 2nd time) because we were unaware of the alternatives, and why I am posting this review. We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Munds Park RV Resort, Munds Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived to find green stuff bubbling out of the sewer in the site next to us. At our site, the area around the sewer connection had quarter and dime sized pieces of toilet paper stuck on the gravel. The pool, game room, and sauna are closed until after Memorial Day. Staying here means avoiding the 20 mile 6% downgrade to Sedona. We camped at Munds Park RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

OK RV Park, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground to go see Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert (visit parks from the south entrance on 180). Lady at the check-in made us feel welcome, very friendly atmosphere. All sites are pull through, and each site has multiple sewer connection options (no need for long hose). Everything was clean. Holbrook is a small friendly town with a great Safeway grocery. We camped at OK RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Casey Jones RV Park, Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The park is right off of I-95. Easy in and out. They put us in the pull-thru sites up front, and we didn't even have to disconnect. Everything was very clean. Convenient. We camped at Casey Jones RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hardridge Creek COE, Abbeville, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

The best full hookup site is 62 with a great view; best electric-water was 52 with its own stairway down to the beach along the lake. We camped at Hardridge Creek COE in a Motorhome.
