The facility is in an East Texas setting with lots of pine trees and the usual pine needles, etc. The sites we had were on crushed granite (?) material. It rained a lot that weekend so there was water running and laying around. It was a good Texas camping experience. The activities for the Halloween weekend were in keeping with a family atmosphere, and lots of families were there with their campsites decorated for the occasion, along with hayrides and trick or treating. We camped at Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines (formerly Whispering Pines RV Reso in a Motorhome.
The Tiger Creek Wildlife Rescue site is just 1-1/2 miles from the park. Canton's First Monday activities are about 30 miles to the west. Tyler is close by with the famour Rose Gardens and Kilgore is nearby with Museums, etc. Lake Hawkins is within driving distance for a wonderful dinner, although you have to want to go there to find it. Reservations are probably wise, and you need to BYOB as they don't serve alcoholic beverages. Worth the effort.

This park has recently undergone an update. It is located behind the Red Cedar Motel. There are both pull-thru and back-in sites which are level gravel pads. There is a covered patio attached to the building with the restrooms and laundry room. We camped at Red Cedar RV Park in a Motorhome.
