Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort, Belfast, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

It’s a 10 if you can get one of the bottom water front sites. 8 or 9 if you have one up the hill but, even those have water views. Mostly an older crowd but, kids would enjoy the beach. The on-site restaurant (Papa J’s) is great, ate there 3 out of 5 nights. Would have been 4 but, they had a barbeque at the campground on the 4TH of July that had some really good eats. We camped at Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Lake Campground, Lancaster, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. I was put on site 2; this is probably considered one of their premier sites. The view is spectacular and it close to everything. The problem was, it’s close to the road noise and very close to the new pool and slides. If you don’t mind the noise stay up front, if you want peace and quiet insist on being in the back. I would give up the views for peace and quiet. We camped at Mountain Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Balsam Woods Campground, Abbot Village, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, a little more rustic than most of the ones we go to. A lot of seasonals but, they’re very friendly and sites are well kept. Long walk to the restrooms, they do have some port-a-potties in the park (not using them). Did a moose safari with Chris Young from Young’s Guide Service, highly recommend that. We camped at Balsam Woods Campground in a Motorhome.

It's all been said before. This is a big clean park with lots to do. Still is. One bummer, the trolley only runs Saturdays in May, June, September, and October. We camped at Lake George RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wompatuck State Park, Hingham, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The place was dirty, site had 12 pieces of trash on it when we pulled in. The grass had not been mowed in quite some time. The bathrooms were disgusting the first day but, cleaned to just filthy for the rest of the week. No way I would shower in one of those stalls. The people hired to clean them should be ashamed of themselves. It's not all bad: the sites are level and pretty well spread out. We camped at Wompatuck State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clearwater Campground, Meredith, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Roads a little narrow. First site we were put in was too small for my 32 footer. The back end hung off an embankment and I couldn’t put down my stabilizers. They gave me a bigger site without issue. The lake and Beach are nice. The bathrooms were not very clean. Went on a Biplane ride over Lake Winnipesaukee, That was awesome. Check it out if you’re in the area: www.lakesbiplane.com We camped at Clearwater Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The employees are really nice. The park is clean, even the bathrooms. Site are easy to get into and level. If your into nature, kayaking and hiking, it’s a great place to go. Other than that there is not much to do. We camped at Quechee State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Aces High RV Park, East Lyme, Connecticut

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Made our first trip of the year this past weekend to Aces High. As usual the place is in tip top shape. It is one of the cleanest parks my wife and I have been to. There aren’t a lot of kids, it draws and older crowd. Nice and quiet, the way I like it. We camped at Aces High RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
