Lake Gogebic State Park, Marenisco, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Price above does not include park pass which is extra. Park has spacious spots and a number of them are lakefront. Park was quiet though we were there in the off season. Nice little beach and boat ramp. Beautiful area and the lake is gorgeous. There are walking trails though they need some attention. Turned around when a boardwalk installed over a wet area was found to have broken, rotted boards. We camped at Lake Gogebic State Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Bemidji State Park, Bemidji, Minnesota

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The park is beautiful though the lake is not visible from the campground. However, it is close to walk to the beach and there are many wonderful trails including a paved bike trail. Park has bikes available to rent and staff is friendly. That being said, the park is not big rig friendly so I can't rate the park higher. It was difficult maneuvering our 38 ft motorhome on the roads. Lots of overhanging vegetation. Our site (#78) was a pull through. We were directed to come from the parking lot which was easy. However, there was no way we could pull through to leave. Besides the bushes, the turn was tight to get out. We ended up backing into the parking lot. The dump station also required a tight turn but we did it, only to find the sewer was on the wrong side for our rig. Had to pull through and the turn back around to use it. Sorry to say, we would not go back. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Motorhome.

Brimley State Park, Brimley, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Park extremely busy for Labor Day with every site filled. There were many children which was OK but also many groups of 20-30 yr olds which was not tolerable. They were noisy, threw trash in our site while walking by. Our site was on the lake but lake could not be seen because of the trees. Even though there was a designated walkway to the beach, a number of campers walked thru our site to get to beach. No place for me to walk my dog other than the very crowded camp roads. It seemed many sites had more than one car. Would not stay there again. Do not think staff monitored area very well. We camped at Brimley State Park in a Motorhome.
