Tips for other Campers:

Santa Fe New Mexico is truly a land of enchantment. Cerrillos Road is the main drag through town and very accessible from the camp ground. Go to the plaza and see the Loreto Chapel and the cathedral.

Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is our new go to spot for Estes Park. We have stayed in several others but this one is our favorite for EP. Nice amenities. Live band entertained us in the lodge. Great views of Long's Peak. Place was packed as you would expect for Labor Day weekend but the spots are far enough apart so claustrophobia doesn't set in. Pet friendly. Nice dog park. Plenty to do and close to RMNP. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Snowy Peaks RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorite places to stay. Mature trees and manicured grass in most of the sites make this a great place to stay. The views are wonderful. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good clubhouse area and showers are available. We come here at least once a year, usually more. We camped at Snowy Peaks RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

OK for an overnight stay. Very noisy from the traffic on I-80. Bring earplugs. Dog park was good. We camped at Laramie KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground), Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here on our way to Yellowstone Park. The staff was very friendly and informative about the area. The cleanliness of the showers and bathrooms was exceptional. Equipment was new or in good repair. Nothing broken or messed up. For a stopover resort it was very good. I recommend this campground. The drawback was it isn't in a very scenic location and it is close to the highway but I could not hear the highway noise. We camped at Red Desert Rose Campground (formerly RV World Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Snowy Peaks RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This place is on the A-list. Nicely landscaped campsites with large mature trees and grassy areas. The site was far enough away from highway 24 so that the highway noise was not an issue. The staff was friendly and helpful. Dog friendly. The store clubhouse and shower area were clean, well stocked, and in pretty good shape. We had a very pleasant Labor Day weekend. We camped at Snowy Peaks RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Colorado Heights Camping Resort, Monument, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

Drive carefully around this site. RVs are packed in tighter than sardines. Pleasant stay. Upside: easy access from the highway, amenities were plentiful, host were helpful and pleasant. Very clean. Downside: Highway noise kept us up at night, not a good place if you are expecting a private, quiet location. We camped at Colorado Heights Camping Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Four Seasons RV Resort, Salida, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Just returned from Four Seasons RV Resort in Salida Colorado. Had a wonderful time and the staff was very helpful. The park has just about everything we were looking for. No sulfur smell in the water as reported from previous posts. We used an inline water filter in the hookup and had no problems. Caught a mess of rainbow trout on the river behind our site. Had a great time. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.
