General Butler State Resort Park, Carrollton, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

If you want to camp very close to civilization this is a great campground. They also have a very nice playground - or two. There are a lot of things for kids to do - which is nice. The sites are pretty close together, but overall it was a nice campground. The bathhouses are not updated and are basic state park bathhouses. There are only two showers per bathhouse and they are not fancy by any means, but there was hot water. We stayed in site 63 which is next to a trail with a lot of traffic and the water hookup was very far away. We were glad we brought more than one hose to reach that far. However, it is still a beautiful park! We will definitely camp here again with our children. We camped at General Butler State Resort Park in a Tent Trailer.

Taylorsville Lake State Park Campground, Taylorsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is nicely set up with flat land and spacious sites. However, there was a lot of rain the first night and our site (#30) was flooded. That was okay, we could deal with that. The deal breaker for us was the loudness and absence of ANY park ranger or surveillance! I noticed there was no "quiet time" signs posted in the park, but little did I know that this campground is a place where people can drink and blast music all night long! My 14-year-old daughter was subjected to inappropriate behavior and drunken conversations that made me wish we would have stayed home! I've called the park to ask if they enforce any quiet time rules and have not received a phone call. Unless you want to drink and party all night, this is not a family family campground. We camped at Taylorsville Lake State Park Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Brown County State Park, Nashville, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park is beautiful! There are overlooks for watching the sunset, a lodge with excellent food and coffee for those meals you don't feel like cooking and it is very close to all the shops in Nashville, IN. We went horseback riding one day in the park and that was something fun to do. This park just has a whole lot to offer and the restaurants and shops in downtown Brown County/Nashville are outstanding. There are flea markets near by too for those looking for something to do. We had been here before and will return again soon! We camped at Brown County State Park in a Travel Trailer.
