Grants / Cibola Sands KOA, Grants, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a simple campground with hands down the best owners! Super friendly, cookies and dog treats upon arrival! Easy to find and easy to navigate with plenty of room to maneuver our 40' fifth wheel and dually. I wish we would have stayed for a few more days as this is a hidden gem. Long, level gravel pull thru sites. Everything worked well and we had no issues whatsoever other than our stay was too short! They also have a meal service providing a fantastic turkey dinner delivered right to our camper! We will most certainly be back!! We camped at Grants / Cibola Sands KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Moab KOA, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park in a great location. Easy to find and easy to navigate with even the biggest rigs. We had no trouble navigating with our 40' fifth wheel and dually. The campground is all dirt/gravel. Some sites are shaded and others in the newer section are all sun but have new tree plantings. Mostly pull through. Bathhouses are old but very clean. They have a small pool and a new much larger pool being built. There is no laundry at the moment, but a new one is being built by the new pool. Staff is friendly and very helpful. All amenities work well with cable and wifi being very good particularly considering the size of the park. We camped at Moab KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The is a nice park near Mesa Verde National Forest. A great choice in the area. With the exception of a tight spot near the entrance, the rest of the park is ok. Our pull thru site was plenty long enough for our 40' fifth wheel and dually with room to spare. Sites are gravel and are level. We really enjoyed our stay. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Town & Country RV and Mobile Home Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good option in the area and easily accessible. We stayed at the urging of friends who have stayed previously prior to the expansion. The new section is great for big rigs. Perfect for our 40' fifth wheel. Nice long pull thrus. All the amenities worked just fine. Dog park is in The mobile home section of the park. It's a small park but was just fine for our two small fur babies. The staff wasn't overly friendly, in fact was just happy to take our money. We are not likely to visit that area again, however, as far as RV parks go, it's a good choice. We camped at Town & Country RV and Mobile Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Overall Rating:

The is a great choice and a popular overnight option for those traveling. The campground is clean and well laid out, accessible with even the biggest rigs. Easy access from and to the highway. We had no trouble with our 40' fifth wheel. Very nice pull thru sites, great dog park and an onsite cafe providing breakfast and dinner. We didn't hook up to cable and wifi seems to work pretty well. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

McKinney Falls State Park, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent state park in Austin! The sites are huge. Most will accomdate any size rig. Many even have tent pads on them as well. We had no trouble with our 40' fifth wheel. We were in a pull out site and there were many back in sites that would have been just fine. The park was full and they are limited on 50 amp sites. Verizon works well in the area. Staff super helpful and friendly. The hiking trails are amazing as is the scenery at the falls. Great choice in the area for camping. We camped at McKinney Falls State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gulf Coast RV Resort, Beaumont, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is set up and designed with both travelers and long term campers in mind. The roads are all paved, nice and wide as are the sites. Easy access with any size rig and the sites are long enough to stay hooked up if you need to. We had no trouble navigating with our 40' fifth wheel and dually. This park is very clean and the staff friendly. They have a daily breakfast which is a very nice touch. We did not use cable or wifi but it was available. All services worked well with no problems. They have a small and simple dog park at the back of the park which was well cared for. We camped at Gulf Coast RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bay Hide Away RV Park & Campground, Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice small Park with grass/gravel sites. Sites were long enough for our 40'fifth wheel and dually. Roads a little narrow going in and out, so you just have to take it slow, around the corners. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities in very good condition. They look like they cater to a strong seasonal snowbird demographic, all of which were very nice. Verizon worked well. The water is brown which we understand is a result from flooding in recent years. We were not able to connect to their wifi. We don't watch TV so we cannot say how the cable over the air is. The location is very good for site seeing in the area. The only downside for us was the fire ants and lots of them. They do have disc golf on site which looks like fun as well. We would consider this park when we go through the area again. We camped at Bay Hide Away RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sanlan RV & Golf Resort, Lakeland, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here previously and can tell they have put a lot of time and money into improvements. The have Nice large concrete sites for even the biggest rigs. The staff is attentive and friendly. Wifi is great. It is easily accessed with little trouble navigating the roads with our fifth wheel. With that said, the roads are narrow and impossible for two rigs to pass each other. The sites are also on the narrow side, but not really an issue. They keep the place very clean which is immensely appreciated. They have a great grassy area that would be perfect for a fenced in dog park. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Sanlan RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Hitchin Post Corral and Campground, Cottondale, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a difficult campground to rate. From an accessibility and service standpoint it is hand down a 10. However, it is a new park that is still working on getting things up and running. The truth is, the sites are fine for any size rig. Mostly pull thrus long enough for our 40' fifth wheel and truck remaining hooked up. The owners are amazing and super friendly. A huge plus in my book. If your looking for a pretty campground, they are still working on that. It's perfect for an overnight stop, but I don't think I would stay more than a night or two. There is also quite a bit of highway noise but not a deal breaker. Wifi is very good. I think in time this is going to be s great campground!! We camped at Hitchin Post Corral and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is by far one of the nicest state parks we have stayed in. The sites are large and vegetation provides some privacy between sites. There are some great trails throughout the park for walking and biking. The roads are a little tight in some places but we had no problem with our 31' motorhome and saw many much larger units throughout the park. The bathhouse was clean and well maintained. This park is a good launching pad for area beaches. We highly recommend this park to be near the gulf coast area. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Motorhome.

Oscar Scherer State Park, Osprey, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is s beautiful state park with gorgeous views. We camped here in a 31' motorhome and has no issues at all getting in and around the campground. We saw much larger rigs in the campground as well. Many sites were quite large both length and width wise. The vegetation between sites provided a sense of privacy. The bathhouses were clean and well maintained. Verizon worked well. We would definitely recommend this campground. We camped at Oscar Scherer State Park in a Motorhome.

Seasons in the Sun RV Resort, Mims, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this RV resort to explore the space coast. Easily accessible from the highway and no issues pulling our 40' fifth wheel in or out. We had a concrete back in site that acoomodated is nicely. All the hookups worked fine. The staff is very friendly and they obviously take pride in maintaining the resort. There were mostly snowbird rigs scattered throughout the park. They appear to have a lot of activities in season as well. This is the best option in the area and there is a fantastic seafood restaurant up the road, Dixie Crossroads. We camped at Seasons in the Sun RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sanlan RV & Golf Resort, Lakeland, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a centrally located campground in Lakeland that is easily accessible and big rig friendly. We have 40' fifth wheel and had no trouble navigating the park with the exception of one area where it appeared there was a gathering with cars on both sides of the road making it a little snug to get through. This park catered mostly to snowbirds and has a section with park models and a section for RVs. We were in a premium plus site that was fine for our length. However the term premium plus is a bit disconcerting as it was really just a basic concrete pull thru with a picnic table. I would have expected a little more on a designated premium plus site. A back in would have been sufficient with more room side to side.
For those interested in wifi it was very good. The water pressure was the best we have ever seen at a campground. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We would recommend this park as a great launching pad for central Florida being convenient to all the major attractions as well as both coasts. We camped at Sanlan RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Orlando / Kissimmee KOA, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park right in the middle of town. You would never know there was a fantastic campground here if you were not looking for it. The entrance from 192 to seven dwarfs is tight so I would recommend going up to Cecile Dr and waiting on traffic. We have a 40' fifth wheel and this was a much better entrance. Once inside the park there is no trouble navigating big rigs. The pull-thrus are gravel pads and are spacious and LONG. Some of the sites are 134' long. Great playground and dog park. The bathrooms and grounds are the best maintained I have seen, particularly in Florida. The pool and hot tub are clean and well cared for. The staff is super friendly. The back in sites are gravel and better suited for smaller units but can accommodate 40' on a few of them.

Centrally located between both Florida coasts and just a few miles from the major attractions in the area.

There are other options in the area but this is the best choice particularly for big rigs. We camped at Orlando / Kissimmee KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
