Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground, Waves, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on the "sound" side rather than ocean. You actually have a view of the water and gorgeous sunsets. The ocean side has dunes which are nice but you have to get over them to get to the beach and see the ocean. Nice pool. Bathrooms and showers very accessible. Sites are level and plenty of room to maneuver. We would stay here again. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great Chinese restaurant close by - Boardwok. Hatteras lighthouse not far. Wright brothers monument was a bit of a drive but good to see. Lots of restaurants at that end of the strip. Beware of the wind if you put your awning out.

Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground), St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The area in the park where they put us was worse than Coney Island. It was very tight, very close and cramped. There was a toy hauler behind us and if he had wanted to open it we would have had to move. I thought this happened because we were with Passport America, but we didn't get any discounted rate. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Riverside Campground & Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We were in a campground(?) in the Smokies and it was hideous. We found this RV park on accident on a trip to Sevierville. What a great park! The people were super nice. The place is clean and well taken care of. The pool was great. They even have a church service on Sunday morning if you want to attend. We were so happy to find this RV park. We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Sevierville is a great little town. Home to Smokey Mt Knife Works and near Dollywood. Also found a great vet just down the road from the park, Dr Bea Moody.

Tropical Palms Resort and Campground, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Because we had Passport America we were put in the back forty in a site which was less than nice. The park was almost empty so we asked if we could move closer to the pool. They accommodated us and we had a great shady site. The pool is outstanding, separate pool for kids. Has a cafe at the pool. Food was great. Security guard/gate on duty. As nice a park as this is, the Wifi is less than perfect. Loved it here. We camped at Tropical Palms Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was a stopover for us. Obviously the price was right. The park was adequate but dusty due to the roads. We camped at Mission RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great location. If you take a city tour, the bus comes right to the park. Close enuf to walk to lots of places and restaurants. Downside was that it is noisy because of freeway traffic and sirens. But the convenience to tourist attractions makes it worth it. Expensive but would stay there again.

Angel Lake RV Park, Wells, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

If you need them, the showers and bathrooms are very nice and very clean. Also if you need, the laundry is adequate and clean.
As with most small parks, the majority of sites are for full term folks. Very few sites for over nighters. It was okay for a quick stay over. Picnic table wasn't usable. We camped at Angel Lake RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Custer State Park - Stockade Lake North Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is the best campground in Custer State Park. The only hook-up is electric but if you choose your site carefully, water can be very accessible. There is no dumping or dump station at Stockade. You have to go out of the park or head further into the park to Game Warden area. There are two sites there with water to flush and potable water to fill your fresh water tank. The volunteers at the park are very helpful and friendly and don't interfere. We camped at Custer State Park - Stockade Lake North Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is not really an RV park. It is several sites, mostly full time workers, along three sides of the road. Our site was next to a full timer's site and it was trashed! We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

New Frontier RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We liked this park very much. There is a small casino with a very good sports bar/restaurant within walking distance.
Our only suggestion would be for the office staff to carry a phone. We were looking for directions so leaving a call back number didn't help. Every time we called. We got a message machine. When we got there the office staff were gathered around a table goofing off. No one was answering the phone.
Just a suggestion. We camped at New Frontier RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Winnemucca / I-80 KOA (formerly I-80 Winnemucca), Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We didn't care much for this place at all. It felt dirty and trashy. We were put at the far end of the park near permanent renters and the freeway. The hook-ups were marginal at best. Was it ok for one night? Sure. But expensive for a gravel pad! We camped at Winnemucca / I-80 KOA (formerly I-80 Winnemucca) in a Travel Trailer.

This was a lovely RV park. Large pull-through sites, well kept, clean and shady. Management was extremely courteous and concerned that our stay would be safe and comfortable. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
