Salisbury Beach State Park, Salisbury, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent W/E hookups. Pad and driveway required very little to level. Park was clean and staff was efficient and friendly. There are no sewer hookups in the park, but the dumping station has been completely remodeled. There are now four dump units that are well designed with plenty of room and new pavement. A new bath/toilet facility is being constructed in the small camper/tenting area. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Staff very helpful throughout our stay. Park is extremely clean. Heavy rain, but our site stayed nice and dry. Cable TV with 25 channels. Seaport RV Resort, Old Mystic, Connecticut

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Campground has been upgraded with many new amenities since our last visit. There are no sewer hookups in the facility, but free pump out is provided on day you select. (Not available Sunday or on day of departure). Water/electric/cable were very good. Free WiFi is reliable but would not play anything that the system apparently considered "streaming." including some some pictures in e-mails. There was a lot of rain prior to and during our visit. Our site simply did not drain. Pad was gravel but the rest was grassy with mud. The 50 amp sites seemed much better. We camped at Seaport RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Boston Minuteman Campground, Littleton, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

First time back here in 5-6 years. Not far from our home, so came often before we retired. Pleased to find that the campground is still a great place. The sites are all in a in a wooded area, of mostly fir trees. A heat wave occurred while we were there and the setting was ideal. Sites are gravel and dirt, but during heavy rain they drain very quickly. The staff are very helpful and have answers regarding area attractions, including access to Boston. We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Motorhome.

Beach Rose RV Park, Salisbury, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Beach Rose is a great little, no frills park, very convenient to Salisbury Beach and surrounding area. WES very well located, in great condition. The free WiFi may be the best campground internet that we have encountered. Owners very accommodating, show you to your site and help you park. Concrete pads, very level and reasonably spaced. We were backed up to a fence - very quiet and peaceful. Very nice pool, which was of no interest to us, as it dropped into the 20s during our stay. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Beach Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone, Verona, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The Villages continues to offer an excellent camping experience. Our most recent stay was no exception. We had a back in site that was perfect for our 34' motorhome and rental car. WES and cable were all first rate. The off-season fee with GS discount is actually a bargain. The staff is always helpful and welcoming. We would definitely return when in the area. We camped at The Villages RV Park at Turning Stone in a Motorhome.

1000 Islands / Association Island KOA , Henderson Harbor, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This entire campground is located on an island in Lake Ontario, connected by a causeway, to the mainland. We had a pull in waterfront site on the Henderson Bay side of the island. The view out the windshield was amazing. Sunrise over the bay is beautiful. Pull in sites on the other side of the island overlook Lake Ontario and the sunsets there are spectacular. W/S/E hookups were excellent. Most waterfront sites have two sets of hookups so that if you choose to back in, it works fine. The WiFi is a little quirky, requiring a sign in. Sixty minutes of free service is offered each 24 hours. After that time there are a variety of pay options from one day to seasonal. For some reason, we managed to get by with the free option during our time there.
The route out to the island is in good shape, but it is narrow in spots and has some curves. We had no problem in our 34' class A, and there were many larger coaches and fifth wheels coming and going.
It is quite a jaunt to the nearest shopping (supermarkets, etc) in Watertown, so it is good to plan ahead for that.
This may be the most beautiful location we have camped in, since we had the waterfront site. We would stay here again, if in the area. We camped at 1000 Islands / Association Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Arrowhead Marina & RV Park, Schenectady, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has a beautiful setting on the banks of the Mohawk River. Sites are well spaced out through a nicely wooded area. Our assigned site was not level front to back and required leveling blocks to keep front wheels touching the ground. The W/E/S and cable hookups were very well placed and worked very well. The WiFi is free and signal ranges from quite good to almost non-existent. Railroad tracks run near the campground, but the noise is not really a problem. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Salisbury Beach State Park, Salisbury, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is our first visit to this park when it has been busy. We usually are here early or late in the season. We were there from Tuesday to Friday and by Thursday afternoon the park was quite full, yet we were amazed at how peaceful and quiet it was. There is some construction going on during the day near the breakwater at the mouth of the river, but we did not find the noise bad at all. Each evening while we were there two members of the MA State Police Mounted Unit rode through the park, stopping for pictures and chatting with campers. Leashed dogs are permitted on the river beach, but not on the main beach. We will return. We camped at Salisbury Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

New York City North / Newburgh KOA, Plattekill, New York

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Our third visit here, for an overnight. This facility is quite a way off I-84, but the drive is very manageable, with only the short trek on the road to the campground entrance being rather narrow. A very well run, clean, and attractive campground. It was a weekday in the off-season, so there were no activities scheduled, but there are many things on site to entertain the entire family. Our site was a long, level back-in, that was nicely situated so as to make the neighbors seem far away. W/S/E/C were excellent, as was the WiFi. We will stay here again. We camped at New York City North / Newburgh KOA in a Motorhome.

Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a well run facility, clean and orderly with friendly staff. We were located in a site right by the entrance, but the traffic was hardly noticeable. Our site was quite level, and W/S/E/C all worked very well. The WiFi was strong most of the time. Route 30 traffic might be an issue at times, but we had no problems traveling about during our stay. This is an excellent location to visit all of the wonders of Lancaster County. We will return. We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

River Beach Campground, Milford, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a convenient stop for an overnight on 209 or off 84. Nothing fancy. This is primarily a base for Kitatinny Canoe tours. There are many tent sites and a small number of pull through RV sites with W/E/C. Water and electric were very good. Cable is digital, so if you only have an analog set, bring a book. (There are no over the air antenna channels). WiFi was very weak, but did manage to check e-mail. The staff are wonderful and welcoming. We would stay here again. We camped at River Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Drummer Boy Camping Resort, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Located in a very convenient area to visit the sites of Gettysburg. This is a very large campground in area. It was 7/10 of a mile from the office to our site. There are many seasonals, but that had no impact on our stay. Our site was a nice length pull through with vegetation and boulders separating us from the neighboring sites. Site was fairly level and W/S/E were excellent. The one downside of our visit was the total lack of WiFi. We were told that they were having an issue with the provider and the only reception was at the office. (7/10 of a mile away). We would have no problem returning if in the area. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Lehigh Gorge Campground, White Haven, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We made an overnight stop, so this review is for that area of the campground. W/S/E were great. There is cable, but only works with a digital TV, which we do not have. WiFi was very good. The overnight sites, as mentioned by others are right near a fairly busy road. Truck noise was pretty bad until about 11:00. We camped at Lehigh Gorge Campground in a Motorhome.
