Cedar Valley RV Park , Guthrie, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park has several full time units but overall a nice campground for the area. This site was long and level and plenty of room to park after unhooking truck from 5th wheel. Close to shopping and restaurants. We camped at Cedar Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elk City / Clinton KOA, Canute, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Site was long enough to unhook our truck from our 5th wheel and have plenty of room to park. Park was maintained well enough, although there was a lot of dirt around our site. Nice trees for shade but needed to be topped as it was rather close when pulling out; had to watch the lower branches not to take out our Jack Antenna or AC cover. Not close to anything; it was a good drive for shopping or going out to eat. We camped at Elk City / Clinton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

To start this park is close to the highway. Entry roads and site roads are paved but sites are dirt. The site we were given was fairly tight to get into as there was a light pole and metal stake on the driver's side with a vehicle in the road on the passenger's side. The vehicle was parked in an empty site. As noted in previous reviews there was some plane noise in the afternoon but stopped in the evening, but can still hear the traffic. Although this is supposed to be over night only there are several units that look to be here longer and more permanent. We were not offered the code to the restroom or showers so were not able to use them. We would not stay here again for the price and what you get. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tucumcari KOA, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The owners of the park are really friendly. They are trying to maintain the park and have their work cut out for themselves. Picnic tables have been refinished and are really nice. Entry road is paved but site roads and sites are dirt and dusty. Sites were plenty long enough and but needed a board on the drivers side to be level even though we didn't plan to unhook from our truck. The owners provide meals for dinner and breakfast. The dinner was okay and convenient for an over nite stop. The cable connections were the best we have had for several campgrounds. We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is really a nice park, it's too bad it's so close to the highway. There is a lot of road noise and sometimes the slight hint of a train some where not too far away. The roads are asphalt and sites are paved concrete, fairly level. Sites really could have been just a touch longer as our 37 foot fifth wheel took up most of the site and required us to park our truck at an angle at the back of the site. The folks at check in and front desk area were super and very friendly. Free breakfast was nice. Laundry was clean, washers and dryers worked great, wash $2 dry 75 cents. There is a Camping World at this exit also. We camped at American RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sky City RV Park, Acoma, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

For the price you cannot beat this. This is in the middle of no where but the sites are long pull thru gravel and level. It looks like at one time they may have planned to pave as their is a very nice paved curb around all the "grassy" areas, which are really dusty weed areas. The restrooms are showers were extremely clean and spotless. Check in and out was extremely friendly folks. Security comes thru periodically and will also shuttle you to the casino not far away. Had a decent meal at the casino buffet for a reasonable amount of money. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This park looks as if it might have been a KOA in the past but has been totally updated and looks really nice. The entry drive and grounds are very nice with some neat landscaping. The roads are paved but sites are gravel. Sites are level and long with an older picnic table. We unhooked our fifth wheel and went to the Fire Rock Casino where we had a wonderful meal. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at USA RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Holbrook / Petrified Forest KOA, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in order to tour Petrified Forest and Painted Dessert. Close enough to both to do that. Not one of the best KOA's we've stayed at. The check in person was not very friendly and took a little longer than necessary to get checked in. The site we were given (#40) was at then end of the row and closest to the highway but probably the longest and widest site on that row. Entire campground was gravel roads and gravel sites. Sites are level enough but very dusty. The best part about staying here was meeting some really nice folks right behind us. Avoid the local eatery advertised in the KOA paperwork called Joe and Aggie's, would been better off eating at the campground. The price for the this campground is a little too high. We camped at Holbrook / Petrified Forest KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Sites were long and fairly level although, as usual, they were gravel. This is your basic KOA, nothing fancy, but somewhat better than most. Still 50 miles from Grand Canyon but great for touring area. We camped at Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Great for an overnight stop! Gravel sites are very level and long. We didn't have to unhook our fifth wheel from our truck since the site was that level. Far enough away from the highway that there was very little road noise. We got there early and there were several sites but they filled up quickly for folks stopping for the night. This was the best price we've paid for a gravel site. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyon Trail RV Park, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We had considered another RV park right next door, but now are glad we picked this one. Roads are paved and sites are gravel. Sites are not extremely long or level. Barely enough room length wise to pull our 37 foot fifth wheel in and get level using boards on the driver's side. Staff was very friendly and check in was great. Good location for grocery and other amenities, including casinos. Large laundry facility with several washers and dryers with reasonable cost. Very clean and quiet RV park with friendly residents. Some road noise, but mostly during the day. We would stay here again if ever in the area. We camped at Canyon Trail RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Whiskey Flats RV Park, Hawthorne, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

For an RV park out in the middle of no where, this is a great overnighter or even a couple of days. The park roads are gravel but the sites are pull thru concrete. The sites are long but extremely narrow concrete. Very little grass in the park designated for landscaping, but not in each site. The water and power worked very good. WI-FI was extremely good and even able to stream some TV shows rather than watch their cable which was also good. Walked over to the local grocery and it was a real gem for a small area. Great park for the price. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Death Valley Inn and RV Park (formerly Burro Inn Casino & RV Park), Beatty, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Not sure why everyone gave this RV park such high reviews. May be because it's the largest RV park in the area and probably the best one. We were greeted by a camp host living in a motorhome as you pull in. She was not very friendly and only offered us 2-3 sites on one row when several other rows were available stating that they were reserved...we had reservations too. We picked a site that would suit us the best, but not great by any means. Our 37 foot fifth wheel took the entire length of the site as we pulled into it, when asked where we would park she said to park beside our unit. Well, when we put out the 3 slides there was no room for our large diesel pickup. We don't understand why we tell a park the type and size of unit we have that they don't tell us that we might have a tight fit. The park is completely dirt with small trees and rocks between sites. Several of the sites are taken by full time units. Since it is right off of US 95 there is some road noise, but the most noise comes from a ball park behind the park and full timers having a fire pit get together late into the night. We had planned to stay a couple nights, but opted for only one night and moving on. We camped at Death Valley Inn and RV Park (formerly Burro Inn Casino & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This RV park is large with concrete roads and full concrete pads. There is even a parking space beside the concrete pad along with a small patch of AstroTurf between sites. The downside to this park is that sites are not as long as they could be; several larger rigs stuck out into the roads especially if they were pulling toads. Our 5th wheel and truck would not fit without being in the road. With all our slides out we could not park in the parking space as half of the space was used for our slide. The other issue was that the sewer hookup for your neighbors rig would be under your vehicle if you used the parking space. The sewer hookup for the neighboring site was in our front door area and would not be very appealing if we had happen to have a neighbor. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Travelhome RV Park, Yuba City, California

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before and I am less impressed each time we come back but there is no where close to Yuba to stay but here. The short term sites are gravel pull thru with a concrete patio. None of the short term sites are 50 amp only 30 amp. Would have been bad, but it happen to be cool and didn't need both ac. The picture on the website is off a long term site showing all concrete pad, but would be a back in. This time long term residents not very friendly and noticed a lot more road and train noise than before...odd. The $32 is an average for the time we stayed. Part of the charge was at a daily rate and the other part was weekly so paid more for weekly rate. Would have rather stayed somewhere else, but only stayed here to avoid 20+ miles one way a day. We camped at Travelhome RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
