Toutle River RV Resort, Castle Rock, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

The park was fine. It wasn't clear who the park was designed for, it's kind of a resort style, but more suited for an I-5 stop-over. With I-5 on one side and a heavily-used railroad track on the other, there isn't a country type of feel. Regardless, it was a nice park and an ok stop-over traveling on I-5, albeit over-priced. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Phoenix RV Park, Salem, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice RV Park. These people work extremely hard maintaining their park. Beautiful flowers and the grass is cut and edged perfectly. Several sites are long-term customers but you would only know because of the large LP tanks, all RVs and sites are very well maintained. We camped at Phoenix RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Spent a lot of time in the little towns around Salem. Go to the Oregon Gardens in Silverton and the Iris Gardens just north on I-5. Check out the downtown theatre in Salem (think it's call the Grand Theatre). We saw Shout the Musical, it was excellent. Go for lunch in the little town of Independence, several great restaurants.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice area. Good golf nearby, try Eagle Point and Centennial. 20 mile bike trail along a stream just outside of the RV Park. Central Point is a nice little town with a couple good restaurants.

Mad River Rapids RV Park, Arcata, California

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Had a bad experience on arrival. We always ask for a site for our satellite antenna when making the advanced reservation and then remind them when we arrived. They put us in a site that was covered with trees. Then they moved us to a site with overhanging trees that we couldn't get into ( and also next to an extremely trashy full-timer site). Once we were put in an acceptable site we had to remove our bikes from the rack and store them in a locked building. Our bikes were locked on the coach but they said they would cut the locks. I give them some credit for telling us about the thieves that frequent their park, but believe they should take steps to resolve the problem. After we got settled in to a nice area in a long pull-thru site all was fine. We camped at Mad River Rapids RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sonoma County Fair Grounds, Santa Rosa, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

It's a minimal RV park. Most of the people are in FEMA trailers from the earlier fires. It doesn't have the friendly feel of most RV parks, instead a bunch of people down on their luck. The massive speed bumps and the bump at the entry are really annoying. For California it's a lower price and it's close to the downtown area. Don't expect much and you'll be OK. We camped at Sonoma County Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are some fun things to do in this area, like the Schultz (Peanuts) museum, wineries, some good golf courses and restaurants. I always feel uncomfortable in the downtown of most California cities due to the vagrants on the streets and in the parks, and Santa Rosa was no exception.

Vineyard RV Park, Vacaville, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

It was overpriced, as are most California parks. The roads in our section were terrible and the speed bumps unnecessary, the holes in the roads were adequate to serve that purpose. Quite a few trashy sites with long term residents. The park has good access to highways so you can get on your way quickly. Our site was ok, gravel, level and utilities easy to access. The new side of the park look quite nice. We camped at Vineyard RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Lakes RV & Golf Resort, Chowchilla, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $47.00

Tips for other Campers:

Golf is "kinda" included in your rental fee. The fee is waived, but you have to pay for the cart. The course at the RV Park is championship length and was in OK shape. You can also play Madera Golf Course for free. It was in better shape and only a few miles away. We played every day so this is a great deal for us.

Portland-Woodburn RV Park, Woodburn, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $33.00

Convenient RV park right off of I-5. Good location to outlet mall, fast food, Wal-Mart and other shops. Other than the Wi-Fi being hit-or-miss, all was fine. We camped at Portland-Woodburn RV Park in a Motorhome.

McArthur's Temple View RV Resort, St George, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Not sure of the nightly rate, we stayed for a month for $450 plus electric (no tax on monthly stay). This a good park, with all the basics you need and in a good location in the middle of St. George. Internet speed was very fast. If you like activities, St. George is hard to beat. Get the Dixie Direct Card for much reduced golf for about 10 nice golf courses in the area. There are low cost organized tennis clinics daily at Tonaquint Park. Paved bike trails along the Virgin River and Snow Canyon. Great hiking in Show Canyon. Check out the plays at the outdoor Tuacahn theater. This is one of our favorite stops. Oh, don't forget to spend at least a day in Zion National Park, about an hours drive. We camped at McArthur's Temple View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

River's Edge at Deer Park, Heber City, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is an average park, nothing fancy. The sites aren't quite level and a bit rocky. It's a good location as it's centralized between Heber City, Park City, Wasatch State Park and Jordanelle Lake. One problem I have is that the park's sewer drains are about 18 inches above the ground. This requires lifting and draining your sewer hose many times to empty your tanks. We camped at River's Edge at Deer Park in a Motorhome.

Village of Trees RV Resort, Declo, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice park for a stop along the interstate. After driving around the area I wish we would have booked 3-4 days. It appears that there are some nice hiking areas and golf courses in the area. The Snake River is dammed nearby making a nice lake. The little cities in the area deserved more exploration time. We camped at Village of Trees RV Resort in a Motorhome.

McCall RV Resort, McCall, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good park, but is overpriced for the market. The McCall Muni Golf Course is a great facility. You can play nine holes on the weekends for $10 after 5pm. Jug Mountain Ranch is also a good golf deal for seniors after 3pm with a $31 rate. Jug Mountain Ranch also has a great restaurant. Downtown McCall has many great restaurants along the lake front. All kinds of kayaking, float trips and mountain biking in the area. We camped at McCall RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Granite Lake Premier RV Resort, Clarkston, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent Park. The Clarkston/Lewiston area is a great stay. The Snake River is in your frontyard and there is a great biking/walking trail that goes for many miles along the river front. In the the summer you can pick gallons of fresh blackberrys that grow wild along the rivers. Plan a couple day trips up to Pullman, Washington and/or Joseph, Oregon. We camped at Granite Lake Premier RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Hi Valley RV Park, Boise, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent park and great location. Sites are a bit narrow, but not a problem. Hi Valley is close to all the fun activities we enjoyed in Boise (e.g., Outdoor theater Eagle Pavilion, numerous excellent golf course, bike trails along the Boise river, restaurants in Hyde Park area and downtown, etc.) We camped at Hi Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.
