Staff very helpful. Meals (B and/or dinner) available on site. Small park but reasonable. Some noise from I-40, but at least it's not a train! Rest Rooms seem to be clean and set-up well.

Staff helpful and friendly. Laundry was excellent and close to site. Cost was very reasonable. Site was FS and concrete. Space between sites and seemed to be a mixture of monthly and over nighters.

Date of Stay:

Not much to add that the previous comments covered. The staff was accommodating and helpful. The laundry was located in the office area, so at seven the office closed, therefore the laundry did also. The road surface inside the park is gravel, therefore, there is dust kicked up when anyone enters or leaves. A suggestion for management...... make the restrooms unisex. That would (imo) help the flow. The road (interstate) and train (BNSE) noise is bad because you are wedged between both. This was just an over nite, so I'll probably not return.

I agree with most of the comments prior to mine. I want to mention that I thought the RR/Shower was not the best. They were dated and needed to be upgraded. The rooms were limited and available at two different locations. If you were the first to use the shower it was fine, but second and beyond had a very wet floor. The shower time was limited to seven minutes and then not available for another five minutes. (conserving water)

We don't normally stay in KOA CG's due to the high cost. But when you are the only player in the area - there is no choice. There seemed to be worker campers, permanent campers, and some monthly. Sites were tight, but manageable. The train noise was loud and occurred several times during the night and early morning. Air plane traffic noise was also present due to the airport in the area. Workers living here permanently did not respect the noise level or speed limit in the early morning hours. Transportation was provided to Temple Square which was a good value.

The only concern is the laundry, but the owner can't control the users that show-up at the same time. 4 washers-4 dryers Cleanest RR we have found on this trip. All the people waiting got to be friends with good conversation.

We used this CG as a base when visiting the Moab area. Stayed 3 nights. The RR were NOT as clean as they could be and some of the showers did not work, were under repair, had bad fixtures, didn't drain, and were not the cleanest. As with most RR there were not enough hooks for towels, clothes, etc. This is basically a ATV CG. But the noise was held to a minimum.

Date of Stay:

The CG is off the beaten path. We didn't like the first brush, but the second tour we found a site next to a small stream. The RR look to be clean, but we have not used them yet. Mostly cabins and sites were used by workers. The office hours were limited, but manageable. Good for an overnight.

The camping fee includes $7.00 park entrance fee. The CG is north of Sterling approx 12 miles. Go to Sterling and follow the paved road rather than follow the GPS recommendations which will take you on gravel roads. Sites were spread out, included a table, fire ring, and wind shelter on the west side of the sites. It was HOT during the day, but cooled off during the evening. Nice laundry next to the RR. Not many visitors during our stay. (off season) Water level was low, but I was advised that it would be filled by late fall.

Stayed for two nights. This park is our favorite when visiting family in the Omaha area. Lots of activities, sites are nice, mostly shaded, RR are clean. Good value. Don't visit on a Husker football weekend. CG is full by Thurs. without reservations.

Used this CG for a short over night stay. Good access to site, RR were clean, staff was helpful.

Second stay here. The RR were great. Always clean. Quiet most of the time. Used the park as a base for biking in the NP north of Akron. Mainly a boating SP.

Spent 3 nights at this SP campground. Had an electric site. To our surprise the campground was not full (normal most times), but was starting to fill as we were leaving Friday at noon. We paid the Ohio senior rate (Sun-Thurs), plus a reservation fee, which was not necessary due to a lack of campers. Another pleasant surprise was the restroom condition. The sink counter had been replaced, new faucets, and motion detection devices were installed. Lights attract bugs at night and this equipment helped that issue. The park system still needs to install hooks around or near the sinks. We use this park as a base when we visit Holmes County. We like the campsites better than the parking lot campgrounds in Holmes County. It means driving 30 minutes, but it's worth the trouble. Caution if using RTE 3 from the south. The detour is not well marked and the detour takes you WAY out of the way. Use I-71 & Rte 97 instead or check the road construction reports before using Rte 3.

Wanted to update this park since the latest update is rather old. We spent 4 days at Hocking Hills. It was a return outing after a 35 year absence. The rate reflects a 50% Ohio senior discount (Sunday-Thurs) The park has seen some improvements in the last 30 years, however, the sites are still close together, there are large drop-off spaces from the pads to the ground. That is an accident waiting to happen! The pads are OK for a popup and car, but unit larger would be a challenge to accommodate both. Most had a slight slope to the pads. The restrooms were typical SP issue with a quantity of bugs sharing all spaces. The restrooms were cleaned daily, but some of the faucets did not work correctly, and there were no HOOKS to hang your clothes, towel, etc. Hiking trails are the high point, however, staying on the trails is a must. Massive drop in height if you don't. There was a swimming pool at the campground, but not open while we were there (guards were in school) and was scheduled to close on Labor Day. Staff was helpful and polite. We were allowed to pick our site prior to registration.

Stayed at the campground for two night while visiting the area. Lots of seasonal folks, but there was plenty of room for any type of equipment. Open field concept, but we managed a site with some tree shade. The office help suggested places to visit and provided maps. The only negative I have is the remoteness. It's a 30 minutes drive to any where for resupplies, etc.
