Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Mathis, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park was nice.Set ups were easy in and out.Lake was clean.Clarity of the water was normal for the area.Done some crappie fishing off the pier.Crappie run a little small for my liking.Nice pier though. All aluminum fairly new.Long large pier.Stayed 2 days.As usual, met some nice people and enjoyed the stay.I give this park 4 out of 5 stars.Would have been a 5 had the crappie been bigger...).. We camped at Lake Corpus Christi State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Livingston State Park, Livingston, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of woods with trails. Being an older couple,we enjoy quiet. Spaces between campsites are far enough to claim privacy. We enjoy riding our bikes here along with visiting the pier. Been here many times. Our favorite. We camped at Lake Livingston State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Places to eat in Livingston are Shrimpboat Mannys (crawfish etouffee). The Blue duck, and then there are plenty of fast foods. No Walmart, but they are scheduled to reopen soon.Fishing is usually slow on the pier, but sometimes crappie turn on.You have to be there when they do.Usually in April.

Brazos Bend State Park, Needville, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A real nice peaceful park. Nice bike trails and hiking trails. The water is being taken over by water plants. However, the plants have some flowers that create their own scenic view. Lots of deer in certain areas. Most of the Texas Parks claim to have wi-fi. Maybe around the office areas, but not the camp areas. All in all, a good place to spend a couple of days. We camped at Brazos Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.
