Topsail Hill State Preserve, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Only a mile to the beach by foot or a quick 5 minute trolley tour. Park was more of a community feel than most state parks are. Our site pad was in desperate need of repair with a broken concrete pad. Not much privacy between campsites. It's all about the white sandy beaches here. No camp fire ring unless you bring your own. Thankfully there was a parking lot to put the tow dolly since there is no room at the site. Park is close to all the creatures of home, Publix, Walmart, Acme Oyster House! We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

The beach! Perfect location to spend a day at the beach, convenient and close by. Go to Seaside to walk around and grab a bite to eat, travel to Santa Rosa Beach and Grayton Beach for a bite to eat at the RED BAR! Worth the wait! Local restaurants are pricey and touristy.

Florida Caverns State Park, Marianna, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Small secluded park. Tight traveling the inner camping loop with a lot of trees. Could use some trimming along the main circle, but really nice in the sites with the privacy. Great place to just get away and relax. Swimming hole a few minutes walk from the camp site with picnic area and space to lay out a blanket. Only a 2 mile walk to the caverns, a must see. I would stay at the park again, quiet and relaxing. We stayed at site 4 in a 40' RV with plenty of room. Would stay at site 16 next time around, no neighbors on the one side. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tubing down the Chipola River with Bear Paw Excursions. People weren't the friendliest, price $40 for a double tube with a bottom. Must be fit and not afraid of gators! Took us 4 hours to go 2 miles. first mile was spring fed creek, clear water, rope swings, places to stop to swim. The 2nd half murky Chipola. Do not get out. Had to paddle ourselves, with only the 1 toy paddle were given. We were exhausted with climbing over the fallen trees and paddling!Weather was great!

Jetty Park Campground, Cape Canaveral, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Best part was that you were steps to the beach. No shade at our site 316 but location was great, door through gate steps away which lead to the beach. Concrete pad, backed up to gate and road in front of us. Plenty of room for our 40'. Center of campground absolutely no shade and literally right on top of each other. Close to downtown and port Canaveral. Was worth getting up at 430am to watch cruise ships come in. We camped at Jetty Park Campground in a Motorhome.

You can't bring tow dolly with you to all sites. Picnic tables are old and need replacement. You need to bring your own fire ring. Check the requirements. 4 miles to town to Publix and restaurants.

Kolomoki State Historical Park, Blakely, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to navigate. Most sites on water or with water view. Great path to beach area. Beach could of been kept cleaner, trash littered along the water and the sand. Great history of park and walkable trails to see the mounds. Museum was a must see, rangers knowledgeable and helpful. No sewer but dump site was extremely easy and convenient. Canoes, Kayaks and paddle boats were available to rent through the visitor center. We camped at Kolomoki State Historical Park in a Motorhome.

Hart Springs Campground, Bell, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

There were quite a few campers that had been stationary for a long period of time, grass growing up around camper, household items stowed behind and underneath campers. Half of campground had spacious sites, the other side were crammed in next to each other. Stay away from site #25!!! NOT LEVEL with big hump! AND squeezed between 2 other sites. Stay in sites #14 to #18 or#54 to #58. BEST PART ARE THE SPRINGS! Only a little under a mile walk, great way to spend a hot summer day. Pool was small with concrete pad, no chairs, not pretty or inviting, but clean. Overall camp site had 50 amps and sewer. No real space for outdoor enjoyment due to the neighbors being right on top of you and no self contained fire pit. We camped at Hart Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

Whippoorwill Campground, Marmora, New Jersey

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Best thing about our stay was the location. Traveling in a big rig towing a car, the roads are tight and tree limbs are low. Very heavily wooded sites with still too many trees on each site to comfortably back in a big rig. Site was not cleaned, fire ring overflowing with past campers excess, and site needed to be raked. Had to ask the front desk to take care of. Last year it was already done when we arrived and that was right after Labor Day. This year we visited end of September and facilities were a disgrace. Half of the showers and toilets were closed with signs saying "closed for season" because they close October 31st. It was still a month away. There were two young men traveling around on a go cart cleaning bath houses, but you couldn't even tell they were there. A real disgrace. Big difference from a year ago. WiFi was only available at Camp Store or right outside at a picnic table. You had to pay for the internet access at your sight. Only reason to stay here was to have close access to Ocean City. I will not be staying here again. We camped at Whippoorwill Campground in a Motorhome.

Pine Ridge Campground, Roebuck, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a week in a 39' RV. Easy right off the highway. From the moment we came in, down the very steep road, until the day we left, it was like we were welcomed by family. Very clean park and the rest rooms were cleaned each day. The laundry was reasonable priced. $1.50 wash and $1.00 dry. Grounds were maintained extremely well and pleasant to look at. We stayed in lot #33 that had extra green space and was end pad. Would highly recommend it! Peaceful and quiet area as if you were in the middle of the woods, but actually close to every convenience. WiFi worked great! Would highly recommend staying and will be back to visit! Easy in and out with our big rig. Great rates for the Propane right on sight. Thank you to the new owners for an awesome welcome and stay! Rate included extra person per night. We camped at Pine Ridge Campground in a Motorhome.

Daisy Barn Campground, Wilson, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great location. Beautiful Campground, right on Lake Ontario! Well kept grounds and level sights. Pictures on website are right on! Don't follow your GPS, sends you down tight roads for big rigs. Once in park easy to navigate, no pull thru sites though. Camp host was wonderful and helpful! Very laid back atmosphere. Mostly seasonal campers filled the campground. Bathrooms are older and need a lot of updating. Only 2 showers available, 1 one out of order. Could use some cleaning. Laundry onsite, 1 washer and 1 dryer, no change machine available. Cash only, no credit cards taken! Remember this because there are no ATM's on sight! Had to disconnect to back in. We camped at Daisy Barn Campground in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Easy and well marked off the main road. Very wooded sites and some narrow roads. Very large park. Big rig sites where at far end and next to primitive bathrooms (indoor outhouses which were very clean). New modern bathhouses where located next to general store a short drive away. Very few big rig pull thru sights available so had to disconnect car and dolly to back in. Wi-Fi needed coupons, 1 for 24 hours for 1 computer only. If you had 2 computers than you had to use 2 coupons. If you used both coupons in 1 day than you had to pay an additional $2.00 for 24 hours. Very confusing and was not explained at check in. Trash location at front of park so you had to drive there from your site way in the back. Best part was location to Mackinaw and feeling of being in a State Park but with full amenities. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Hope Oak Knoll Campground, Owatonna, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Campground was nice, bathhouses were clean. Sites weren't level, needed jacks. Pull thru sites available for big rigs. Mostly seasonal and park models filling the campground at one end. Family run. If looking for social time they do have Bingo and BBQ dinners at certain time of year. Everyone who was there seemed to know each other and liked it that way. Easy in and easy out. We camped at Hope Oak Knoll Campground in a Motorhome.

Broken Arrow Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Had to go to office to sit and use laptops; WiFi at our site was blocked by a big coach. Location perfect. Just outside of town. Short drive to everything. Horse campground, many flies to contend with. Clean showers and bathrooms. Small new laundry facility, higher-priced than most places. Beautiful scenery. Level lot. Lending DVD library. Weekly Chuck Wagon meal, unfortunately we left before they had another one. Owners were very friendly and helpful. We camped at Broken Arrow Campground in a Motorhome.

Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort), Moran, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to get to and find. Great location between Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Friendly staff. No WiFi or cell service at all. Tight spots. Heavily treed. 24 hour Laundry, older machines, after office hours had to go to lodge to pay for dryer, over crowded due to size of campground. Crowded bathrooms due to lack of them. Great Ranger program talks! We camped at Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch (formerly Flagg Ranch Resort) in a Motorhome.

Portal RV Resort and Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find. Location and scenery would give this park a 10. Gravel parking spot in full sun, very few trees. 2 separate parks, South side for Class A's 10 years or newer or if you were an owner of the parking spot, there was a beautiful clubhouse and pool. North side was for everyone else included a man made swimming pond which was scary looking. Laundry facility was old and washers smelled. Catered to tent campers, had a dish washing facility. Rest rooms and showers weren't cleaned daily. Also communal shower building with separate shower rooms, which were crowded when group of tent campers came. Was not cleaned daily. WIFI was spotty at best. Resort cost without the resort amenities. View and location along with pull through full hook ups were great. Would not stay again, would spend extra $10 a night and stay elsewhere. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Great little park, hard to find, must go slow and keep eyes open or you pass it! Located right in downtown. 9 miles to Mesa Verde! Host were great! You can wash your car and motor home in your spot for inexpensive cost. Extremely clean bathrooms and separate shower stalls very roomy. Great laundry facility. Shaded spots, wonderful pull thru. Walmart 1 mile down road. Grocery stores close by. Would recommend highly and would stay again if in the area. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great place! Only downside was proximity to I-40 and lack of shade. New paved area. Pool nice, laundry price was most reasonable we have seen. Buffet breakfast was a great perk! Wi-Fi was great! Best we have had on our entire trip. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.
